Kairus stepped on the back of the toboggan, watching Ultra's methods. Brutal, but at the same time effective. "Nice. I suppose I'm in with this group, then."

Battle?

A slight frown appeared on her face as Arikyrenne made her way towards the makeshift toboggan. Even with the fighting that had gone on so far - and was even going on now - she preferred non-violence, if possible. Perhaps they'd be able to get in and find a way to stop the freezing without -

CONK!

Arikyrenne couldn't help but wince at that sound, and turned to see the Frizonian drop unconscious. It was then that the thought popped into her head. She eyed the alien…or rather, the bulky suit that was visible instead of the alien itself.

Probably too late now, or some obvious reason it wouldn't work or something…

Even so, she found herself asking to no one in particular, though hoping maybe someone would hear: "Do you think disguises could help?"

Mobius found himself under the distinct attention of 2 Frizonians...which put him at a slight disadvantage, but never one that he'd admit out loud.
One stood in front of the Eagle, and the other was running up behind him loudly, lunging to grab at the eagle - only to find itself the victim of a Shotgun-Butt slam to the face, forcing it to stumble a bit away, and making the one in front reconsider it's approach slightly.

"So, you wanna play hardball, eh? " Mobius smirks, before whirling the shotgun around in his hands to hold it like a baseball bat - conking the alien foe on the forehead hard, before whanging it across the side of the head, then finally kicking it's feet from underneath, causing it to fall quickly to the ground.

The eagle turned sharply, and cocked the gun in front of the Frizonian still recovering from it's full-faced encounter...

" Two choices - A: Turn, and run home to mommy like the alien ice-loving cretin you are...or B:...well, d'ya want me to spell it out for ya? "

It was at this point the alien, which had been unarmed and was certainly in no position to attack smartly without getting killed, turned tail and ran speedily away - prompting a very cocky grin from the eagle.

"Still got it, even after all these years! " He quipped, before running to lend a hand to any MoFo'ers who may have needed it.

"You know...."

Ryan idly looked at the unconscious Frizonian, before turning his attention to the young lady that just spoke. "I was considering that possibility myself..." A gleam caught his eye, and he gave her his full attention. "How's this. When all the fanfare starts, let's you and me collect some bodies and start peeling some suits off."

"Well, in any case, it's about time we get going."

Ultra, Kayla, Kairus, Ryan, Arikyrenne, and anyone else who had decided to get on the toboggan looked over at the others, who were about to join up with those who had already left to blow their own way into the icesteroid. "Good luck everyone."

Then with a heave, Ultra pushed.

The toboggan slowly moved...and then quickly picked up speed.

They were on the move.

Gyser had stood back, arms folded as he watched the plan unfold before him. For an impatient stereotype, he was waiting quite well. One half of the group had gone one way for distractions while the others had made use of their make-shift toboggan. Gyser however, had not moved a muscle. He had worked in teams before, so this situation was certainly not a new one for him. Large groups, small groups, solo. Gyser had worked them all. Instead, his reason for remaining still was thus;

"I just damm well don't trust you, Ultra." The hedgehog thought to himself, refering to the event where Ultra had escaped with that she-devil Stahlmanche and left he and several others to die in a crumbling ruin. Following at a distance, Gyser was ready to take down Ultra should he try to betray anyone again...

He does not trust you.

Thank you for stating the obvious, mentally grumbled Ultra as he continued moving along at a brisk pace. Gyser was right behind them, by about ten meters. Can't really blame him.

He will probably end up attacking you at one point.

So?

Take preemptive action.

Sure, yeah right.

That attitude will only result in me having to save you.

Probably. Don't care.

Unfortunate.

"Look! It's some kind of cold man!" exclaimed Arikyrenne.

"Make that 'men'!" added Kayla. Two Frizonian Elites were just ahead.

Ultra grinned as he pushed once with his legs before hopping onto the toboggan. "Okay everyone, battle stations!" He handed Ryan his laser blaster. "Already have one in my arm. Just for the duration of our trek in this 'open sleigh'."

xxxx

The two Elites just stared.

A brief blast with the ice guns only added another layer of ice to the sharpened pikes aimed straight at them. In a brief burst of bravado, the two dove to a different side, aiming to dodge the 'vehicle' and get an aim on its passengers.

Those 'passengers', however, had other ideas.

Kairus leapt for one Frizonian.

Ultra and Kayla leapt for another.

Kayla leapt off the toboggan, her mind dead set on getting rid of the Frizonian.

"Eat plasma!" she exclaimed as she fired at the Frizonian.

The Frizonian managed to move at the last second, but not without losing the majority of its left side.

She looked at Ultra.

"You want to finish him, or should I?"

Following Mobius, Hukos stared at the Frizionian and smiled. Looks like he's got things settled for the moment. I'll just let him take care of business for now.

Ultra calmly shifted his hand into a blade, skewering the Frizonian through the helmet visor. "He was a goner anyway. Might as well be a bit merciful." He turned around to see that Kairus had quelled his opponent with his own psionic abilities. "Well, that's one checkpoint down. Let's keep going!"

Kairus wasn't sure why he'd jumped. Perhaps because he felt like strolling once inside. Either way, the guard he bore down on probably would have done better not leaving the chill of his bunk that morning. Or something. "Oh yes, I think I can finally unwind here." Kairus' mouth upturned on one corner of the lips, and the Frizonian in front of him rose into the air, clawing at its neck frantically. Then...it went limp. Kairus held out a hand, firing a thin beam, ensuring the thing never woke up. He noted the toboggan was already a good distance away. He casually leaned back, eyeing the group with an apparent half-hearted interest. Rising into the air, he began skating on psionic energy after the toboggan at a somewhat leisurely pace.

Jason dashed between two more Frizonians, somewhat gracelessly on the frozen flooring. He frowned as he surveyed the situation.

Something's amiss. We were supposed to get the main defenders' attention...why are there so few challenging us?

The hedgehog turned his new freeze ray gun at the nearest Frizonian, firing at its ankles to root it in place. The Frizonian, now inextricably held at that spot, turned to return the fire, but Jason's foot came up and connected. The Frizonian's weapon sailed out of its hands and clattered to the ground.

"Twice the armour, half the mobility," Jason snorted contemptuously.
"Insolent hotblood!" growled the Frizonian. However, Jason was not listening. Already, he was antagonising the other Frizonian, who was trying in vain to keep up with the hedgehog.

"Hey, you!" shouted Jason. "Latestvictimofyourownweaponrysezwut!"
"What?" mumbled the Frizonian, firing wildly at Jason. A second passed before the proverbial light bulb clicked. "...oh."
Jason fired, freezing the Frizonian's weapon arm in place. He then fired at the Frizonian's ankles.
"No sign of intelligent life among you lot, eh?" Jason taunted. The Frizonian swung his frozen arm and clobbered Jason in the face, knocking the crimson hedgehog to the floor.

Sod, that was stupid. But whatever the case, I still feel something awful's about to happen. My sixth sense has never been wrong about impending danger before...

::Handed the laser blaster, Ryan watched as Ultra and Kayla dove off the tobaggan to clobber some cubes. Cyk found his merriment as well, but that now left Jin and himself speeding towards parts unknown. Reaching out, a hand quickly grabbed the blade that he had left spiked in the ground earlier. Twirling it as they shot through the corridor, he turned to Mokat.

"Well, the flamethrower idea will be handy later, as we have more than enough speed."

"No, I think you mean the flamethrower idea will be handy now, as we have alot of water to make." Ryan and Mokat turned to spot what Jin was talking about.

As the tobaggan flew down the icy trackways, their final destination seemed to be an impressive squadron of Frizonians, with guns prepped and ready to fire. Ryan raised the newly acquired blaster, watching as their view slowly began to grow. First it was about 20....then 50...then 100...

"Holy geez, there's like a whole army in here."

The Frizonian Elite snarled as he crushed the ice that had frozen over his limbs. These Hotbloods were extraordinary...many times before, on previous worlds, the natives had tried to use their own weaponry against them. But the freeze guns were extensions of their very essence; firing them directly upon a Frizonian was practically recharging them. A veritable gift of energy was what it was!

But this...thing...it had gotten him near the walls, then firing at the ground to manifest the ice that would imprison him! His reared fist had nearly been trapped under a layer of ice on the walls!

These creatures...are fascinating. The Elite scowled as he pulled up the dazed hedgehog. So much more creative...and this appears to be no more than a common foot soldier! Conquering this planet would be satisfying. "Any last words, Hotblood?" His freed hand clutched a small variant strapped to his armored thigh; an ice pistol. Less powerful than the freeze gun...but more than enough to freeze this fool's head on the spot.

Jason frowned. "Yeah." Quickly, he pulled off the Elite's helmet...and gazed at the icy being.

Humanoid, almost...but confined to an icy shell. Emanating a cold mist, more chilling and real than thought possible.

The Frizonian Elite chuckled. "Amusing, but futile. The ambient temperature of the icesteroid is too low. Even without the armor, I won't melt. At least you got to look at the face of your new masters."

Jason smirked. "Well, I suppose...you could use a makeover though."

The Frizonian said nothing as a shotgun barrel was pressed into his temple.

KABLAM!!!

The head was gone, so many chunks of shattered ice. The Elite promptly crumbled to the ground, freeing Jason. "Hu...thanks for the save."

Mobius grinned, letting his shotgun rest on his shoulder. "Always a pleasure." Gazing back at Hukos, the eagle muttered, "The others should be along quickly enough...but it's been a bit too quiet though. Thought there'd be more company." Mobius didn't know how close he had mirrored Jason's thoughts.

Where was the enemy?

xxxx

Ultra, Kayla, and Gyser moved about as hedgehogs are wont to do; Kairus, via psionic power, 'glided' along. The three speedy hedgehogs, running as fast as they could without slipping (if anything, it was mostly hopping from side-to-side while still keeping up their forward momentum), calmly gazed about. The neon-green Gyser muttered, "Man, can't believe how quick the toboggan was moving."

"Guess that was kind of the point," acknowledged Ultra.

Kayla craned her head, staring down an inclined passage. A very LONG passage. "Hey...I see them!" yelled the lavender-colored hedgehog.

Kairus noted the vertical grooves along the walls as they headed downward. Hmm...looks like we're near the end. Then his eyes narrowed. "Guys. The others are about to run into trouble. A LOT of trouble."

Ultra stared...and paled. So many... On impulse more than anything else, he roared, "GET OUT OF THE TOBOGGAN!!!"

It was at that moment - when the toboggan came into closer range of the first line of Frizonians - that the horde unleashed a wave of frigid ice.

Arikyrenne froze in place, staring wide-eyed at the number of Frizonians that stood before them as the toboggan continued barreling forward, wind whistling around it as the distance quickly closed.

GET OUT OF THE TOBOGGAN!!!

Whether she actually saw the frost wave or just felt it coming was unclear as the adrenaline rushed through her veins. She and anyone else who didn't want to have a head-on blast applied directly to their foreheads - and everywhere else for that matter - dove from the sled. A panicked thought ran through her mind that they might be too late, and a psi shield flared up automatically in attempt to protect herself and anyone nearby from the frigid pulse!

Kayla paused to do a quick head count of the Frizonians.

"Dear Primus," she whispered.

She quickly jumped out of the way of the incoming freeze rays.

"That was too close," she gasped.

She glared at the Frizonians.

"Whatever your plan is, you will never succeed!"

"So you say, hot blood," said one of the Frizonians, "One way or another, you will all fall before our might!"

Kayla leveled her fusion cannon at the hoard.

"Sorry," she said, "Not gonna happen. I know it's a rather trite expression, but I've got better things to do today than die."

With that, she opened fire and shot anything that so much as looked like a Frizonian.

IC: Lena could hear the huge amount of ice beams being fired at an alarming rate from inside the asteroid. She was glad that she had chosen to stay behind, again but another part of her felt bad for the people in the asteroid, getting fired at. If only she wasn't so in fighting, she could have used her small size to help. She leaned back and sighed. She thought she heard footsteps from behind, what was this, a stray Frizonian coming back to help? She turned her head and approaching them from behind was in fact, one of those blue aliens, armed and looking a bit wary. He held his hand to his ear, as if listening to a radio, before readying his weapon. "Ummm...we got problems..."

Mobius's thoughts ran through the events of the day - the attacks, the fact that no matter how much the forum group was doing to them that the enemy barely even looked fazed...it was almost chilling to think that in such a short time, the frizonians had become one of their more formidable foes in the shortest amount of time.

" Something isn't sittin' right, man - I don't like how damn much of a rollever job this has been... " Mobius muttered, as he started munching on a stick of gum - eyes scanning around quickly, as he tried to gather his thoughts.

" You got that right, man...why aren't we breaking a sweat here? " came the answer of a bemused Jason.

" Better keep moving - who knows what they're saving for dessert for us guys, ya get my drift? " Mobius uttered, cocking the gun again - before heading off quickly, not waiting for any straggling followers who may still be behind.

Ash frowned, twisting his ears this way and that, trying to pick up any sound that might tell him how their comrades who'd gone in the front door were faring.
"Better keep moving - who knows what they're saving for dessert for us guys, ya get my drift?"
"Mmm." Ash nodded in agreement to that, then cocked his head. What was that? If he didn't know better, he could've sworn he'd heard a muffled shout from somewhere else in the icesteroid... something about a toboggan...? He frowned. "I have a horrible feeling our friends may have run into some nasty odds... let's not waste any time."
His hand slid into his pocket, momentarily grasping the blue and silver clutch pencil he kept there. Hopefully I won't need this quite yet...

Ultra scowled as he took refuge in one of the vertical grooves, momentarily safe from the barrage of frigid ice. Can't stay here for long...they might get a lucky shot! The blue hedgehog quickly dashed for another groove, firing a few laser bolts from his hand cannon as he crossed.

Jinsoku, in another groove, glared back at the cyborg hedgehog. "HEY! Any more bright ideas?!"

"Don't look at me! They chose to ambush us at a chokehold!" Ultra grimaced as the Frizonians continued to unleash wave after wave of ice. It wouldn't be long until one of them were frozen solid...trapped or otherwise.

xxxx

Mokat's Dark Magician frowned as he quietly used a Fire spell to melt away at a door's edges. "Coast is clear. Come on through."

Kaze maneuvered her ChaoWalker through the opening, frowning as they came upon Mobius, Hukos, and Jason. Following them were Silver, Ash, and Painting. "So...any idea where all the bad guys are?" The Chao briefly checked the systems; the legs were operating at peak capacity now, even after being partially frozen earlier. "Because I'm kind of underwhelmed..."

"We were just wondering the same thing," remarked Jason as he poked his head through another doorway. He was getting tired of the silence and the endless corridors of ice and frozen metal...

...wait, was that sound he was hearing? "Anybody hear that?"

"Sounds like those freeze guns," remarked Silver as he grabbed at his swords.

MDM gazed down the next corridor...eyes widening at the sight. Dozens upon dozens of Frizonians, opening fire upon a sloped tunnel...and be fired back upon...?

It was the other group...which meant...

MoKat!

MDM frowned as he charged at Firaga spell. "I believe we've found the missing enemy."

The question as to the lack of resistance was suddenly answered; the Frizonians had not expected a quick, forced entry...so they had all gathered at the one point the forumers would have to go through if they took the main entrance...

A grin came to a few of the forumers' faces. It was time for an ambush.

xxxx

Gyser bit back a curse. "WE'RE SITTING DUCKS HERE!"

"Tell us something we don't know," muttered Kairus as he fired a psionic blast at the Frizonians. If only he had more breathing room...then he'd be able to REALLY cut loose.

Arikyrenne cringed atop MoKat's head, her psi shield still up. "Bad...bad bad bad..." How were they going to get out of this?

Then it happened.

"Yoohoo!"

Multiple Frizonians turned around whilst the others kept on firing.

Those that did turn around only got to see MDM and Silver unleash blasts of fire.

Chaos and confusion suddenly erupted as the forumers began their ambush.

(OOC: Arikyrenne has actually been in tigress form, so sorry if I wasn't clear about that! (note: I'm assuming "atop MoKat's head" meant Ari's cat form being there, since I don't think tigress form would really be good for that^^; )

However, as long as MoKat doesn't mind having an Ari cat on her head, let's see what I can do… )

--------------------

Arikyrenne braced herself.

The icy chill stung as the frigid wave impacted the psi shield, the wave continuing on where it wasn't obstructed.

The white-furred anthro tigress let out a sigh of relief as the pulse ended, though she knew the relief would only be temporary, as there were more blasts yet to come.

Arikyrenne decided to take the moment to shift to cat form. She hoped the agility and small size of that form would make her a harder target to hit.

A second burst of ice chose that moment to slam into the psi shield: the moment when her focus was divided between completing the transformation and maintaining the shield. The crack that ran down part of the shield rang clear in her mind, and before she could even try to repair it, part of the icy beam slipped through the shield.

*Jump!!!*

She threw herself in the air and to the side as the ice glanced off a second psychic shield that went up just in the nick of time. However, the angle and force of the glancing blow sent her flying, her jump unintentionally augmented. The two psi shields completely disappearing as her focus broke.

The next thought that came to mind was that she was falling, and cat instinct worked to flip her around so that she would land on all fours.

*Thump!* She gasped in surprise: as landings go, it had been a rather gentle one, but she certainly hadn't expected the ground to come that soon. Or to be that soft.

And answering yelp of surprise made Arikyrenne realize just what had happened as she looked down, full of embarrassment as she apologized to the electric-blue-furred feline. Arikyrenne the cat had landed on MoKat's head!

But the time for embarrassment was short-lived as she spotted another icy beam headed towards them. From her position atop MoKat's head, she once again formed a psi shield to take the blow.

She still kept the psi shield up once that was through, not wanting to take any chances as she glanced around at their surroundings.

The quick survey of the situation made her cringe.

"Bad...bad bad bad..." How were they going to get out of this?

A bunch of Frizonians suddenly turned as a "Yoohoo!" came from a different direction. In an instant, chaos and confusion broke loose as the forumers began their ambush.

(OOC: So this post (which ended up being longer than I thought it would be XD; ) doesn't actually do anything past the end of Ultra's post, but at least now Arikyrenne is in her cat form (while atop MoKat's head)^^; )

MoKat grinned as several of the icy aliens seemed to spontaneously combust, thanks to a well placed Firaga.
"Bet they didn't see -that- coming." the gray feline quipped to her passenger. "By the way, thanks for your help, Ari. You might wanna find a different perch tho'. Flamethrower's gonna run out of fuel soon and when it does I'll need to get my blades outta my Hair."

OOC: It's my fault, I've been keeping up but not really posting. To clear some of it up, Kaze stayed outside simply because the Walker couldn't fit through the opening. Here, I'm going by Ultra's post which mentions Kaze just getting inside, so, Torn, Lena's pretty much there, too. I'm starting this one at the point of the ambush. Sorry about disappearing. ^^;

By the way, Ultra, I don't recall the reading anything about one of the Chao Walker's arm being frozen. Did it any time during the attack on the cannon?

IC:

"MORE HOTBLOODS!!"

As the blasts fire dispatched the surprised Frizonians in the hall, the Chao Walker broke through first, bullets firing from the gatling gun. Two more went down, crying out in agony.

Right behind the mech were MDM and Silver, and the rest of the forumers, overtaking the aliens one by one.

"Sorry 'bout the delay," Kaze called out, almost apologetically.

It was a bit hard to tell just where the others were, though; Frizonians and frozen ice beams darted everywhere and from all sides. The chao clenched her teeth. This wasn't going to be easy.

WOOOOO, Mobius had missed this kinda action for a loooong time.

He was still good for shotgun shells, blasting another frizonian in the back of it's icy skull as he ran with the marching group of Forumers, covering anyone who needed an extra helping wing.
He felt a freezing hand reaching and clutching at his ankle, so he looked down at whatever was causing it, only to see a frizonian's deathly stare as it refused to succumb to the massive trauma that had been inflicted upon it from another forumer...mobius smirked, and did the best thing he knew to do, by stamping his boot right on it's head, killing it instantly.
Sure, it seemed a ruthless move, but these SOB's wanted to take 'em over - it was only fair that no mercy was shown at this point.

The temperature was hardly any beach-temperature, but the heat of the moment was certainly leaving a very palpable and defined trail of vengeance from the extremely angry group of MoFo's, as their retaliation strike on the Icey invaders continued to grow in confidence and strength...

Hukos merely followed Mobius while he watched Mobius take out victim after victim with no regrets. The few Frizionions he didn't take out, Hukos quickly made several attempts to cut through their armour and decapitate their heads. He knew how to manipulate the earth to his liking, but that was his trump card and didn't want to reveal it at this point. Besides, it takes up too much energy that he would have nothing left for later on to deal with the bigger and badder Frizionians.

"Heh, how's it going Mother Teresa?" Hukos jokingly asked Mobius as they continued on their path.

OOC: Sorry for not being here, etc.

For the moment, Ryan had disappeared from the view of everyone in this battle.

The last thoughts were fleeting, as he looked at the waves upon waves of blue that ebbed throughout this asteroid, firing their icy doom upon those that seeked a peaceful life. Hands were chilled, but they were balled into fists as he stared-quickly thinking of a way to salvage his own escape.

And what an escape it was...

xxxx

The toboggan suddenly reached the end of the line, as the Frizonian squadrons fired ray after ray upon it. The small barriers erected at the front soon shattered away in a storm of icy wind; leaving no choice but to abandon ship. All the others that had joined on the toboggan ride flung themselves off and quickly made their way into vertical grooves lining the walls.

Except him. Ryan realized that if everyone jumped off, the tobaggan may not do as much damage as it could. So, hunkering down, Ryan held onto the hilt of his sword, and began to talk aloud.

"Derek, right now I need you to teleport me up please. Its not funny right now. I'm about to get frozen and we're going to be stuck as an ice sculpture if you do NOT teleport me up right now!!!!!" Opening his eyes, Ryan looked to see...he was about to crash into the forces, whom were trying to move out of the way enough to allow the makeshift ram some passage.

Ryan braced for impact.

The toboggan slammed into the front line, knocking Frizonians left and right. While there were hundreds there to take their place, the toboggan continued for a few more feet, smashing itself into pieces as well as taking out a groove of Frizonians in the way. But when the sled stopped, and a few soldiers looked at the occupants, they found...no one!

xxxx

"S-so here I am..." A heavy grunt, as Ryan stabbed his blade into the icy structure once more, pulling the blade towards him as he cut the ice. When the groove was deep enough once more, he detached the handle of his blade, and stabbed that into the ice as well, cutting a groove big enough and deep enough for his hand to hold onto. Holding onto his handle, he used his free hand to shake the swordblade.

"...cutting a giant block of ice..." Ryan finished the last of his incision, even as freeze rays rallied. A cry caught his attention and eyes diverted for a moment, to see the second wave of Forumers strike from the side. He smiled, and turned back to his work, knowing he could help if he could just get this done.

"..because YOU wanna teleport me at the last possible stupid second! Not that I'm angry...noo..." Reconnecting the hilt with the blade, Ryan planted his feet and began to push the blade against the ice groove he made, forcing the slab to start sliding out. The slab was as thick as Ryan's blade was long, making for a 5 foot thick pillar of ice to start sliding free.

Once the slab began to move on its own, Ryan pulled the blade free, watching some ice crystals fall below him.

"I'm just hoping I can squash a few of them with their own ship!"

~~~~~
Jason took a moment to notice a shadow forming over the middle of the Frizonian group. He ducked for some cover, dodging some enemy fire, and looked up to see a giant slab of ice falling from the ceiling! On top of the falling slab was a dark figure, apparently the one responsible for cutting it.
"What in the heck?!??!"
Kairus grinned on the inside. "Cover me." He began relaying his plan. Sharing what he saw with the group, he made small mental doodles of the ceiling above the hard-fighting line of Frizonians ahead. Then, he noted the ceiling above them. Thoughts in his voice rang out in every visible forumer's head that was open to telepathy. "Aim above them. I'll do the rest and bring the curtain down on these chumps."
Ultra Sonic grimaced as he dove, avoiding a trio of freeze blasts in the process. He stood up, twirling about and firing his green laser bolts from his arm cannon; as he peppered the Frizonians with energy, he was also smashing his adamantium arm into those who dared to get close.
Then came Kairus's telepathic messages.
Eh, why not.
Ultra quickly fired his arm cannon above at the icy ceiling. Kayla did the same with her fusion cannon. Silver and MDM both unleashed a surge of fiery blasts.
Kairus focused in the thunderous racket of the gunfire. Ceiling...there we go. The pounding shots cracked into the ceiling, and the ceiling cracked in turn. Then...it came. A relatively light pull was all it took. Metal and ice came crashing down on the Frizonian guards. Energy blasts...shell fire...nah. It seemed that the toboggan might have set the standard: brute force might just be the order of the day.
Kairus grinned on the inside. "Cover me." He began relaying his plan. Sharing what he saw with the group, he made small mental doodles of the ceiling above the hard-fighting line of Frizonians ahead. Then, he noted the ceiling above them. Thoughts in his voice rang out in every visible forumer's head that was open to telepathy. "Aim above them. I'll do the rest and bring the curtain down on these chumps."
MoKat's Dark Magician grinned as he prepared another Firaga; he was going to enjoy this. He pointed his staff at the section of ceiling above the ice-heads and cut loose with a huge jet of flame. As his attack and those of the other MoFo defenders struck, the ceiling gave way with a loud rumble. While dodging more freeze rays, MoKat quickly scanned the area looking for anybody who needed to be teleported out of harm's way at the last second.
OOC: Ugh, I'm so sorry, I've been having trouble getting myself to do ANYTHING these last two weeks. I'm here now, and I'm not letting myself slip up like that again. >_<
IC: During the attack, Silver had somehow managed to find himself mentally discussing philosophy with Light Silver, one of the other two souls inhabiting his body.
'You know, I really don't like doing this, or rather, I enjoy the fighting somewhat, but I don't feel comfortable killing all these frizonians, even if they did attack first.', Silver thought.
'They attacked, they have shown no signs of wanting to give up so far, meaning making htem surrender isn't an option. And you won't just let them come in and take over your home, so you must fight them. Your primary method of fighting is completely lethal to them, and you therefore are relatively incapable of fighting them with non-lethal means. I know it doesn't feel right, but it cannot be helped.' Light's reply was sympathetic, but also calculated and cold.
Silver sighed while flaming two frizonians who excaped the ceiling collapse. '...I know... and they're in the military, so they knew this could happen to them when they signed up... but still.'
Gyser had hung back for the fight.
Despite feeling as though he owed the Frizonians for attacking himself and a few other lodgers, he was a close range fighter, and on slippery ground. Running head first into the fight would be liable to get him shot, by friend or foe. Hiding behind some cover, Gyser waited for his chance to do some damage...
((My am I hating Yuku for never remembering my login info, and then deleting my posts -.- This is a superiorly shorter post..))
Ryan quickly fell from the ceiling atop the ice brick he dislodged himself. Jumpin g off the brick as it hit the ground, he landed feet first, crouching to cushion his impact.
Noticing the ceiling was falling all around him, Ryan threw both hands up and created a bowl shaped shadow. It was manipulated to grow very wide and tapered, so it could handle the ice chunks that fell from the ceiling.
One nice size chunk displayed Ryan's idea perfectly. It hit the shadow ramp, rolled along its incline, picking up enough speed to hurdle its way through a good chunk of the Frizonian resistance. Ryan continued the barrage form behind enemy lines, but even he knew this could only go on so long. They all needed something more definite. Eyes scoured for anything, a door they may have missed, a passageway being blocked...
And that's where he spotted it. A small passage, blocked by bigger guards than the rest of this infantry.
Jackpot!
Kayla, like most of the forumers in the icesteroid, kept firing at the icy ceiling.
"Almost," she muttered.
The ceiling then began to cave in.
"YES!!" she exclaimed.
Before she could celebrate too long, she noticed a large piece of the ceiling was falling towards her.
"Oh slag!"
She quickly fired more shots at the chunk of ceiling, instantly melting it. Instead of getting hit by ice chuck, she got showered with ice cold water. She shivered violently.
"O-okay, that might could've been better."
She glared at the icesteroid in general. The Frizonians were so dead if she caught a cold because of them.
As the first stalactite touched down with Ryan aboard, Jason threw himself down on the floor to brace for the impact. The entirety of the icesteroid trembled as more of the ceiling began to collapse at Cy's will. The scarlet hedgehog clenched his teeth together.
Terrific day to have arisen from bed and decided I wanted to be a hero. What's our next trick, genius?
Another large slab of ice crashed with dynamic fury against the floor. Just as Jason got to his knees, he was soaked through by the same cascade of frigid water that had splashed upon Kayla. He gave a shout, partly from shock and partly from outrage. He looked around to see whence the water had come when a particle of inspiration, perhaps produced by the freezing shock to his cerebrum, struck him.
"Hey, Cy, Ryan! See if you can't tear open a good-sized hole in the ceiling and let in the sun!"
Ultra scowled as the ceiling fragments crashed down, pelting Frizonian after Frizonian. Bunched up, they couldn't move to escape...as compared to the more light-footed MoForumers.
But near the back, near the big door...bigger guards. More of those Frizonian Elites from the main passage earlier.
I bet beyond that door is the key to shutting this place down for good!
OOC:
I was beginning to wonder if this thing was gonna fall off the first page.
IC:
Kayla glanced around the icesteroid, firing at any chunk of ceiling she could see.
She noticed Ultra staring at the back of the icesteroid, and gaped at the number of Frizonians.
"Slag, slag, slag, slag, SLAG!!!" she chanted, "What, do they have some sort of ice soldier dispenser?"
She quickly glanced at her fusion cannon's power supply.
'Forty five percent?!' she exclaimed to herself, 'I hope this doesn't take too much longer. I don't know how much longer my cannon'll last.'
She sighed.
'Oh well, nothing I can do about now.'
She pointed her cannon at the new arrivals and let loose a large volley of shots.
"Die, slaggers!" she screamed.
Ryan took a moment to note just how and where the troops were breaking. Their middle was completely empty, save for him and his shadowbowl. However, their bunched up numbers began to give the remaining troops the one thing Ryan didn't want them to have.
Cover.
These guys are like ants he thought as the shadowbowl was shrunk to only half its size, and flipped to cover his arm. Now, it acted as a shield for Ryan as he darted toward one hefty pile. Reaching the top with a few moments to spare before ice rays shot from behind, he soared skyward, barely evading another piece of the ceiling.
Stopping at a part of the ceiling where there was no complete and utter destruction, Jason's message was relayed and processed.
"Sounds great, only thing is... how do we bring down the rebar?" Ryan stayed aloft, floating back and right to draw their fire. A few shots were blocked here and there by his shield, but that was soon to wane. Even though Ryan knew his time flying was limited, his eyes were focused on the larger guards, whom were looking at the advancing Moforumers.
I'm already up here, why not test what they can do....
Ryan began to fly over toward the back, and noticed the change in intensity. They did not want him over there...
Behind the guarded doors, as the sounds of battle raged outside the cold fusion reactor room, Hoplite Icepick flipped a few more icy switches to finish the power-up sequence for the massive armored vehicle he rode in.
Their timing couldn't be better...I will stop them here and now with this war machine. My soldiers only need to give me a little more time.
"You know what you need to do," said the Hoplite to the remaining Elite Frizonian footsoldiers in the reactor room with him. "Take cover and open ice* at any hotblood that gets close to the reactor. But do not shoot until they get close, and ONLY if they get close! Otherwise, let ME handle them."
The Elites positioned themselves behind various ice-caked gray machines positioned around the open circular room, which formed a "donut" shape around the conical cold fusion reactor. The reactor looked like two icicles, one hanging from the ceiling, the other rising from the ground, that had melted their points directly into each other, and at the point of contact was where white energy gave off waves of cold that permeated this room even moreso than any other part of the icesteroid.
"Let them come! We'll show them the folly of their mistake!"
*it makes no sense for a Frizonian to say "open fire!" after all
(Oh no you dont, dropping off the first page)
Ryan, still wafting and evading the aerial fire he was under, quietly was musing about how fast he could actually fly into the back room. Knowing that something was in store for them the second he flew in, it would be best if someone could get in covertly... Completing an aerial loop, Ryan flew directly down into the midst of the Frizonians, completely out of sight and for the moment, out of mind. A mob scene appeared where Ryan crashed, giving everyone notice that something was amiss.
"Well, why are they firing in a circle over 'ere?" Mobius asked as he delivered a fatal gunshot wound to the protective face covering of a Frizonian. "Unless they have a traitor in their midst?"
"Doesn't seem likely" Ash yelled back as he evaded a blast from a rogue shot. "Think its something we can use?"
"Anything would be helpful at this point." Mobuis retorted, picking up a brick of ice and throwing it. The large rock was merely a slight distraction so he could roll forward, and blast a Frizonian in the abdomen, before kicking the dead body forward to stop their comrades from advancing for just a moment
---
At the moment, Gyser was still hunkered down. Unsure of his ability over the terrain, his eyes were the only ones that were able to see everything. Except for the creepy hand that suddenly reached out and grabbed his ankle. Eyes shot open and Gyser immediately jumped into a ball, spines out to cut through anything. But the hand was gone? "Wh-wha? I-i-its too cold for gam-"
"You think I'm playing? Man, take this!" A gun was thrown up and into Gyser's unfurling hand. Gyser looked at it, and smirked. "Hey, isin't this Ultra's?" But before the neon hedgehog could get a reply, the dark hand was gone.
---
The two groups were making headway, but with the amount of blue in the center, it seemed that they'd waste all their firepower on these forces alone. Brown hair slowly eased out of the rubble of ice and littered bodies, close enough so that telepathic speech could be relayed. The newly arrived brain pattern registered with Cyk, and he gave Ryan a moment. Not because he didn't know-but because there were howls and primordial sounds coming from the mind he was now actually listening to.
Don't mind my sick sense of ambience. Cyk, I remember you want to bring the ship's metallic frame down. How about doing it partially?
What are you suggesting? Cyk asked, still slamming chunk after chunk down on the group
What we need is cover, not combat! Instead of crushing them-which we will do, why don't we warp the area so it starts to break their mass up into small pockets, namely, make the ice on the ground stab them from below as well. It'll be able to cut us a path through for the speedsters-as well as make a bit of cover for them as they reach that doorway in the back.
Ryan waited for a reply, catching his breath as he did so for the moment.
(just a quick post for now. Sorry for the lack of postage; combination of video game distraction and dealing with RL stuff)
Arikyrenne the cat continued dodging the Frizonians, weaving her way between legs and leaping out of the way of ice beams, putting up the psi shield if they got too close. The small form was good for dodging, but it made it tough to keep track of what was going on around her. A fallen chunk of ceiling came into view, and she headed towards it, quickly scrambling part way up the pile of icy rubble upon reaching it. If she could, she just wanted to get up high enough to be able to look around without grabbing the attention of more of the freeze-ray-wielding aliens.
After making sure nobody need a last second 'port to safety, MoKat dove for cover behind a "wall" formed of twisted metal and ice. She reached into her Hair of Holding. With her right paw, she pulled out FlameBlitz, an enchanted katana that can deal fire and electrical damage.
FlameBlitz and its companion blade, IceBlitz, had been enchanted by MDM; he was trying to enchant them as a Flameblade and a Frostbrand, respectively, when his apprentice's Dark Pikachu suddenly decided that the magician needed a good ThunderShock-ing. This resulted in the "Blitz" part of each katana. However, MoKat realized that IceBlitz would not be a wise choice against these cold-loving invaders, so she pulled a different blade out with her left hand; it was not enchanted or even named...just a generic-looking katana that had been forged out of Madness Ore. T'ain't adamantium, but almost as durable...and much easier to work with.
MoKat's Dark Magician observed how and where the troops were breaking after Ryan had employed his "shadowbowl"; he concentrated his fire on the left side for a while, then noticed how the ice-heads' attacks intensified when jet-black humanoid tried to fly over toward the back. ~"They don't want us back -there- for some reason..." MDM mentally declared, while throwing in a mental image of the Elite Frizonians that were guarding the doors.
~"We should do something about those doors, then." came an immediate reply for the gray feline.
~"On it." The Dark Magician then started Firaga-ing a path toward the guarded doors.
Kayla noticed the MoFoers making a beeline for the guarded doors.
'Yes, yes, yes,' she mentally cheered, 'Go for it, go for it, go for it!'
She turned her fusion cannon towards the doors and fired on any Frizonian that so much as looked at the group weird.
Cy nodded slightly. Not a bad idea.
He cricked his neck, bringing to bear a not insignifcant amount of psionic power on the floors and walls. His telepathy homed in on each Forumer he recognized, taking the static he was getting as Frizonian. His entire body glowed blue, and cracks of black light shot around the ground, racing up the walls. The hallway would groan and shudder, as Cy mentally...well literally played with it, like a child might play with clay, folding a bit here, mounding some panels there, wires and pipes sparking and such all the while as he began to generally rip apart the interior design in favor of dividing and conquering.
Ryan poked his head out of the ground a bit more. With Cyk handling the construction of the path, he knew he had to get the others through it. Backflipping away, he landed on a large weird obtrusion. Sliding down in, he watched as the Frizonians decidedly hated this new resistance. As they fell over and were throwing in all directions, Ryan yelled out to Gyser, knowing that if he could ensure Gyser could follow-then the others would take suit.
"Hey guys!" he shouted over to where Ultra, Kayla, Gyser and the others of the team he was with. "Time to play Simon Says. Simon says follow Me!" Jumping down and eying the still evolving terrain, Ryan started with a sliding sprint, keeping his head low. When he slid over a small patch of lumps that turned into an Icicle, he rebounded off of the left side of the spear. His path then underwent sharp turns and jumps, all in tune to Cyk's manipulations. As for the Frizonians that he knew were coming up-he balled his fists a gritted his teeth. He'd play human shadow-shield again, giving Gyser and the others cover until some heavy hitters came through.
======
As he continued his weaving through the bumpy terrain, evading fire from the Frizonians that were able-he left a shadowy streak so the others could follow if they didn't see him. As for Mobius and his crew to the left, Ryan saw a way for them to get through, and gave them a bone as well, in the way of his sword. When he caught the sight of the path, He jumped and launched his sword sideways, hoping the rotation would help it create the effect he desired.
The blade sped through a series of rebounding of of icicles and warped ground as such, before implanting itself in the ground by Ash's feet. It left a series of marks which they could follow.
"Hopefully they bring back my sword...." Ryan though as he continued forward, now nearly reaching the area where that back door was.
