i really believe in the "live and let live" philosphy unless it causes harm, and this is harmful.... it's just sad seeing healthy young men not connecting effectionatly in their prime with other people. it's not good for their health or their minds (honestly, i wonder how they function in society being this disconnected)

ask the makers of the game LovePluse, they seem to support it it seems some of japan's entertainment market really is taking advantage of these poor preverts intentionally.

Thing is, its very difficult to legislate anything requiring people to do what you want them to without coming off as fascist (Denying rights and junk like that). I'm not saying I support it, but I don't think there's anything that realistically can be done about it.

Yea, there have been many articles recently about how OTAKU Culture is destroying japan, wich in a way is true, its really sad that people are using awsome things like anime & Video Games for such a purpose, but as they say "This to shall pass" The OTAKU Culture in japan will pass just as the HIPPIE Culture in the US did, true while there will always be otaku (Like there will always be hippies) The number will eventually decrease. Societies have always had fads & Popcultures that are harmful to them & there culture, I can see why the people are worried (the thought of the japanese dying out scares me as well, I mean then who will make Kick a$$ animations & games for the futuere generations.) But again Im sure it is a fad that will pass.

Well, last I checked, none of us live in Japan too (However if someone does please speak up and prove me wrong! It would be nice to see how this issue is out in Japan!). We can take a guess on how it affects Japanese society from educated guesses, but none of us knows exactly what the situation is like down there.

I know its a hard pill to swallow, but I think its something the Japanese government is going to have to tackle if they choose to do so.
