Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada), formerly Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), is Canada's national day, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act (today called the Constitution Act, 1867), which united two British colonies and a province of the British Empire into a single country called Canada. Canada Day observances take place throughout Canada as well as internationally.
But nobody really cares about that! ON WITH THE TEE'S N EH'S!
You see that? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about!
So since we got three days left before we get badly sung renditions of America The Beautiful. I'm making this thread a Canada Day Roll Call. Who you are and where in Canada are you
Gamma Rallyson, and I'm currently stuck live in Brampton, Ontario!
Pardon me, an American, for crashing a Canadian topic, but seeing that image that you posted Gamma reminded me of this! I hope I'm not they only one!!
No problems. I believe in...
EQUIVALENT EXCHANGE!!!
OOOOOOOOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH!!!!
...[goes to bed]
Oh, you!
Canada Day shall be spent spoiling myself on the Rush setlist, while playing a winamp playlist of said playlist in studio form and then again in live recordings of whatever songs are available, repeating where multiple copies of songs such as Tom Sawyer and Spirit of Radio occur. Then I shall attempt to find bootlegs of the existing shows before giving up and walking to Chicago to sit outside of the Pavilion so I can be the first in when they open the doors on Monday night for Rush.
Canada Day is actually Rush day in my mind, because Canada in my mind is just Rush. The second largest country in the world has a population of three, Geddy Lee; Alex Lifeson; and Neil Peart. John Rutsey used to live there, but he's dead now.
Canada Day is actually Rush day in my mind, because Canada in my mind is just Rush.
Let's see if I can change that with this list of native Canadians:
Colin Mochrie
Danny Antonucci
Scott Ramsoomair
Todd McFarlane
Alexander Graham Bell
Captain Roy Brown
Peter Jennings
Wayne Gretzky
Mario Lemieux
Dan Aykroyd
NATHAN FILLION
MICHAEL IRONSIDE
DAVID HAYTER
MAURICE LAMARCHE
EUGENE LEVY
LESLIE NIELSEN
ALEX TREBEK
CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER
WILLIAM SHATNER
TARA STRONG
JIM CARREY
Apologize for ignoring Captains Kirk and Reynolds. Or Snake'll get you.
I'm celebrating Canada day by going out for a meal at the local Americano-Italian.
Ok it isn't for Canada day but it's a nice co-incidence, right?
And yes I do have family in Canada and it's a pretty cool country anyway so hey I'll make myself a paper hat with a maple leaf on it *go do*
But Ultra. Did any of those people write 2112, improvisie a song named La Villa Strangiato or kill a dragon with radioactive dice?
No.
They did not.
Rush did.

You know, I probably should've admitted this years ago, but since it's topical now...
I can't recall if I've heard a single song by Rush. Ever.
There, I said it.
They did Working Man, right?
They did Working Man, right?
Doesn't ring a bell.
You've heard a Rush song, you just don't know it's Rush. If you haven't then you need to live life.
