As soon as I graduate college, I'm going to e-harmony to find someone
So continuing this somehow pointless tradition of saying that long title for reasons that only Lord himself knows, what are you and your significant other doing for Valentines?
Consumerist ORGIENTED.
As to what Iรยดm doing... Iรยดm chatting with my significant other on Steam while studying chemistry.
I don't have a significant other currently. The closest thing I have is a close friend of questionable sanity.
Singles Awareness Day =(
I'm debating between going out to get more elastic for my waistband or staying at home lounging and avoiding crazy drivers going late for their meals at every restaurant in this city...
I guess my bf is studying or something and I'm planning what chocolates I'm buying tomorrow when they go on sale
I don't like celebrating this completely made-up holiday sponsored by Hallmark, flower shops and Chocolate companies (although I don't mind the chocolate part). Single or with a significant other, it's all about spending money so yeah... half off chocolate in the days to follow WooT!
i love flowers! that's mainly my reason for loving this day. i recieved 2 bouquets even though i'm single.. so i'm really happy.
i wish i can get flowers everyday

...allow me to interject for a moment. Valentine's Day is hardly something completely made up. Its origins in fact date back to circa 270AD - specifically the martyring of Saint Valentine. Valentine was a priest during the reign of Claudius II. At this time, the emperor was very keen to do some invasion and expansion of his empire, and as such was rather busily recruiting men into his armies. However, there were a good number of healthy young men who didn't want to join up or were reluctant to go into battle, because they were married or getting married, and wanted to enjoy married life. So the emperor made marriage illegal in order to stamp out that little problem.
Valentine decided to go against this order and continue to marry couples in secret. He kept this up right until the day he was caught in the act of doing so, and arrested. It's alleged that before his death he gave a note to a woman he was very close with, which had only a short message on it, ending with "love, Valentine".
...whether or not all of this is true is of course open to debate - but like many traditional holidays, this one too has its basis in at least some truth. Valentine is recorded in the Catholic record of martyrs, and relics related to him have been found and identified.
Anyway, yeah. Hope I've shed some light on things. =P V-Day may be a more or less shallow and consumerist holiday these days much like certain other Christian holidays, but it didn't necessarily start off that way.
Pfftf, I couldn't care less about today. Tomorrow on the other hand is the real celebration, for there will be much deeply discounted chocolate to be had ๐
Oh PSX. Will YOU be my Valentine?
HAHAHAHAH! e-harmony. That's what i'll have to do as well. Anywho...me and DreamCast have been watching Middleman episodes today. Continuing now.
Oh PSX. Will YOU be my Valentine?
Stop flirting wit' my husband.
Joking aside, this holiday means nothing to me. Nothing. Nooooooooooothing.
Yi!!! Yea...i'm with you. Just another Feb. 14th for me. ๐
Yesterday I decided to suprise Wes by driving down to his university! With a pointless card as well of course ๐
Unfortunately he was less than impressed as he is not at all spontanious so he was like ARGH MY PLANS WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
And now he's behind on his uni work
*sob*

How romantic!
During the day I had something to talk about with my myriad of work colleuges, which was a rare and beautiful thing in and of itself.
The crowning moment of heartwarming, however, came from when she got home from work to our new apartment to find a blanket by the fireplace with goblets of Pepsi set up and my spiced up tomato infused spaghetti bolognese. Tis not as epic as my efforts to take her to Denny's last year (you had to be there...) but it was still cute. Augmented by the fact that it was, what, our 5th night in the new place?
So happy Valentines were had.
