I wish I was asexual.

Yeah there's already a Valentine topic. But:

1) I've been doing this title for like 5 years now. lol?

2) That topic actually shows Valentine's in a positive light. Which is DISTURBING!

That's just because so many of us are alone. Dreadfully, sorrowfully, alone.

Being alone isn't sad. I love being alone. I'm Bioshock 1[or any other fantastic single player game]. But I would hate to become Bioshock 2[or any other game that needlessly adds on a 2nd player mode].

I'm glad you enjoy your solitude so much. Some of us, however, aren't so pleased to watch everyone else fall in love while being the only one to remain otherwise alone. I've been in relationships, mind, but I guess I feel envious of those that have had 'successful' ones.

Yes sir. Sure there are some lonely times, but hey all things occur in cycles...it'll happen when it happens. But hey Ramza...do you draw/write or anything? Pick up a hobby or extend one you've always had. Become occupied doing things you truly love and the desire to be with someone will wane. Somewhat. xP

An author? Nice! Working on anything specific?

Yeah, though I've been denied publication every time I've tried. Anyway, we're hijacking the topic. Sorry about that.

You could always write a romance story. :3

And I just pushed the train back on the rails.

Several years ago, I would've been complaining right beside everyone else that was alone.  However, I have come to a revelation.

The only people who have it the best today are the ones that are alone and the ones that are unconditionally in love.

Speaking from the loner group, we're not in any pressure to woo anyone, we don't have to dump any amount of money into anything, and we're not under any obligation to/try to get the other to put out.  I imagine it's the same for the couples that are unconditionally in love, since...well, they don't NEED to put on such a ridiculous spectacle (though many do anyway because of tradition and/or for the hell of it.  And even then, anything either side does will likely be appreciated by the other anyway no matter what they do).

Yeah, the commercialism aspect kind of sucks, but look on the bright side.  The candy's deeply discounted tomorrow!

All in all, whenever I get into a relationship, hopefully it will be with someone doesn't care about Valentine's Day.

Thanks to the History Channel, I think of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. >_>

Same. Only because I won't give a crap about it. The idea that I have to celebrate it because boyfriend wants to terrifies me. Granted, I could say "no", but I have heard relationships have this something called "compromise" and "stop being such a prideful, selfish Neo Yi and think of your significant others".

Yeah, lol. It's also dumb that this day, in which people are seemingly yelled at(in marketing terms at least), to do something they can do any other damn day in a year. XD And in February, no less.

I love Valentine's Day. Loved it the years I was single and loved it on years that I was in a relationship. I know that it's incredibly commercialized, but in the "long term" relationships I've been in (like the one I'm in now), it's hard sometimes with both of us holding down full time gigs, keeping house, paying bills, etc etc etc to get an excuse to really go all out and enjoy each other for a full night. We go on "dates" two or three times a month and show each other love daily (I'd like to hope), but another day for an excuse of spoiling seems awesome to me! The years I was single for it, it was more of an excuse to spend time with other single chicks and girltime it up, also fun.

BTW, my girlfriend and I's V-day gift to ourselves this year is a cruise to Cozumel. Much better than jewelry or a tacky box of chocolates. Yay commercialization of a holiday!

Alternatively, it could involve someone who sort of cares about Valentine's Day but wouldn't necessarily insist on their significant other spending it with them? o.o

I guess that also depends on however much both partners do their own thing vs. however much both partners insist on doing things together...

oh that sounds so perfect, well done!
i think valentine's spent at the beach (or anywhere near a pool) is just totally romantic   i also think your outlook on the matter was nice. and to be honest, if other people didnt celebrate it too it wont have that special feeling it does, so i dont think its enough to show love for each other just in regular days but also on valentine's day.

waaaaa its like declaring your love for that someone infront of the whole world ... just like prince darke did for the swan princess.

My Valentines Day was actually, suprisingly, good this year! Usually it's just "Singles Awareness Day", but this year I actually spent the day downtown, hand in hand with the most beautiful girl you've ever seen... I can't believe after four years of friendship we've finally hit it off! For once in my life I had a happy Valentines day

Very nice! That's awesome Shibuya!

:O! Astrid! Didn't even know you still posted here. 😛 But it sounds like you also had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Sweetness!

My two cents: Never really cared for this specific holiday. Been single and been a couple yet still don't care. I hate the hypocrites who wish you a happy Valentine's Day but have never spoken to you or treat you like crud the rest of the year. Blah!

This year I got candy from my dance instructor, who's also a friend. Forgot it was V's Day until it was brought up by someone. Meh to this day but it only reminded me of what was to come...

Half Price Chocolate and assorted candies everywhere!!! Don't really care if it's in the shape of a fake non-beating heart but I will nonetheless, eat the crunch bars and everything else

I bet you guys are just so grumpy about this because Valentine's Day isn't an excuse for most people to get off of work.
