Why should they die with the 80's? It looks like they're much older than that:

And the company that's making this was responible for Charlotte's Web, and that one looked good enough to watch... It might turn out to be good???
Nothing's ever gonna surpass the quality of the comics, though. ^^
You know what always disapointed me? The cartoon ends with the smurfs traveling thru time but they never went to 2015 and met Doc Brown. Here's hoping the movie fixes that.
That one is called Evil Ken, actually. Violent Ken looks more like this: 
but the animation speed in that GIF is a little off and he has a darker gi and skin color with blonder, less yellow hair.
