Congrats! I passed my test the second time round earlier this year so I know how good it feels 😀 It shows how dedicated you are to keep going that many times, you deserve the pass 😀 I guess the Aussie test is pretty hard then huh

Got a car yet?

Got a car yet?

Right now? If so, then just my mum's old car which she hardly ever uses anymore.

Oh well you're still doing better than me then. Mum and Dad won't let me near their car with a ten-foot pole. I'm saving up though and all going well should be able to get myself an old banger in a couple of months...

~£1200 in lessons and tests and £1000 for the car and I'll finally be on the road 😮 This is an expensive business 🙁

Yep Srocks, it is.

Dunno if it's nearly as expensive in Aus but it is in the UK 🙁

You're lucky that Americans can learn for a very low price, Srocks

I'll stop hogging your thread now Rishi *bows out*

And thus the roads of Australia were made a slightly more dangerous place to drive. ;p

Off topic: When did Srocks or Socks even originate as a nickname for me? I think maybe it was a typo originally...

It started when I called you that and then everyone followed the leader.

The most likely origin for 'Srocks' as a nickname for you:

LWSrocks (your name, duh) - LW = Srocks

Kapeesh?

*ahem* Anyway, BACK ON TOPIC..... I don't wanna even TOUCH another car for at least a week!

Congrats! I'm still trying to obtain mine's (failed only once so far). I've almost got the hang of not colliding with turfs and bumps.

You've done better than me then. It took me ages to get the hang of that.

Congratz, man. By some sheer luck, I passed my first time about three or four years ago. I just remember being absolutely terrified the whole test and messing up the parallel parking part.

Thanks, man. Anyway, I've been absolutely terrified each time I've done the whole test. In fact, I became even MORE terrified each time I did the test again after I failed for the first time (since it added more and more pressure to perform better the next time around). Each failure after the first one was an even more bitter pill to swallow than the last..... reverse parallel parking has also proved itself to have been very challenging for me.

Well, if you're like me, you may find you drive better overall when you're doing it alone and without anyone else in the car to pressure you. I drive great by myself, but to this day, the second one of my parents gets in the passenger's seat I find myself making stupid mistakes and driving slightly worse.

Yup, I can relate to that. When my mum supervises me, she usually gets really nervous even though I've well and truly proven myself to be a very safe, confident and decent driver. But her nervousness often makes me nervous too, even when there's absolutely no justifiable reason to be nervous. But soon enough, I'll be able to drive unsupervised and things'll be a LOT calmer in general while I'm driving.

Oh, and LOLWTF @ Psx

If Lord Shiva - the destroyer of worlds himself - was driving my car, I'd actually find that pretty damn epic!

It's a lot different for people who've driven for years to get into the same car with someone who hasn't. I myself start feeling bits of anxiety when instructing my younger brother on how to maneuver. Heck, just riding along tenses me up. I can feel my right leg twitch when he speeds up or starts to brake... often a few seconds before he does.

It's like... I know I'm not in control of the car but my leg and arms don't... they react to all the normal driving stimuli without me even thinking about it. Sometimes I can feel my heart racing, too. Odd feeling.

Wow man, you just EXACTLY described what my mum's like when she's supervising me whilst I'm driving. LOL
When my mum expects me to move and/or stop the car, her legs often move accordingly as though she's in control of the accelerator and the brakes. I guess the fact that she's been driving for about 30 years did that to her.

I don't blame ya. It's a harrowing experience. But try to be as calm as possible, otherwise you'll fail.

Alright, we're here. Just sitting in the car
I want you to show me if you can get far
Step on the gas (step on the gas)
Step on the breaks(step on the breaks)
Now step on the gas (step on the gas)
When I say boom boom boom you say bam bam bam
No pause in between, come on lets jam.
