...what all should I install to it? I installed Firefox, as well as Notepad SX and Pocket Tanks, and Plasma Pong. I have some other files there too, mostly all backup stuff.

Firefox is because more and more computers I see with IE7, plus httProxy means I never have to look for a proxy site again. <3

Notepad SX just because I wanted to install it. Tabbed Notepad ftew.

Pocket Tanks demo because it loads quickly and games never last more than a few minutes, so it's perfect for those spare few minutes I find myself with in Programming. Also it has a 2-player mode. Same with Plasma Pong. Thanks, Cindy, for that!

I'd install Trillian, but I don't think I'm going to end up using it in school. I'm sure my Programming teacher wouldn't like me using IM programs in class, and I don't have any other class or time in school where I have enough time to justify it.

So yeah, I have two questions, the first I already said: Any suggestions on what else I should install for it?

The second, and the computer help part: Is there a way to force the fox I have on the drive to save preferences, save passwords, extensions, etc, to the drive itself? I notice if I install an extension, then take the drive to another computer, it won't have the extension. The same with passwords, form information, etc: if I run Firefox on the computer later, it will have them, but others won't. Also, where do the files the extensions save as end up saving to? I'm sure the files in my extensions subfolder on my PC doesn't have all of them, and I think it'd be easier to just put those files in the extensions subfolder on my USB drive.

I did put the download .xpi file for httProxy on my drive and it seems to work on any computer I run the fox on, but I've only tested that on one computer and it may have been one of the Library's 10-12 computers that I'd used already, so it may have just had httProxy on it before. If there's a way to save the extensions and settings to my flashdrive, I'll start installing more extensions and personalizing it more, but if not httProxy is all I'll really need, and I can just download that to all the other computers if it turns out the computer I tested on had it installed already.

EDIT: For reference, the flashdrive is a little Toshiba 2GB USB2.0 stick.

Here's a neat little game most of us have on our school-issued flashdrives.

Plasma Pong! nN

schools give you flashdrives these days? o.o; *remembers when she brought in a sort of prototype one into university a few years ago, the IT guys had no idea what to do with it, not even how to install it so she could save things to it*

ah, how times change. ^^;

Well, they don't exactly give you one. They're just attached to the wall with Velcro and you're assigned a number, and you stick it back on the wall before you leave class.

It's still rather nice, though. ^_^

i'm going to buy one when i go to walmart on saturday

as for your flash drive, ruling out instant messaging pretty much limits my suggestions to the flashchat client

I installed the Flashchat client, but just got around to actually setting the server to sonic-hq.net (any of you in Chat earlier today that saw me come in and say the FCC works, as Sandy, saw me do that).

EDIT: I jsut installed Trillian, I think... I think it might have reset and set half the damn files to my C:/ drive. Guys with Trillian, what size is the Trillian folder, the entire folder, on your computer? Just to see if it's right here.
