If this isn't real, its a REALLY awful trolling attempt. And if it is real.........

Well, you could say this is part of the reason why I continue to reject Christianity and organized religion in general.......

Sadly, I think that site is genuine. I've never supported organised religions in general before and I'll continue to never support organised religions. Organised religions keep us divided. If one wishes to explore and express a 'spiritual' (what a nebulous word 'spiritual' is in terms of its meaning!) facet of himself or herself, it should be done at a purely personal level - in my opinion, anyway.

Are you doing this because you don't like rock music?

NO. . .

I grew up "eating, breathing and dreaming" rock music. I was as big a fan of rock music as anyone. I played rock guitar. I literally lived for rock music.

And you want to hear something else - my flesh still loves rock music!

I had a young man call me one day, and when I answered the phone, he said in a low-growling voice, "I love rock and roll".
And I replied, "So, do I".
For a few seconds he was silent. Not expecting such an answer.
Then he said, "Is this 681-9956"?
I answered, "Yes, it is".
He replied, "Are you the man that preaches against rock music"?
I said, "Yes, I am".
He stuttered for a few seconds and said, "We'll if you love rock music, why are preaching against it?"
And I replied, "Because it is wrong!".
His reply was interesting - "I never thought of it like that".

XD What the flying f@#%$!??? XD XD XD XD XD XD

Oh, rock on, you crazy Christian devil, you. Rock on.

Well Hukos. Being A religious person I find some of your post somewhat offensive, but as an american I respect your right to say what ever the hell you want.

But as said, Radicals, are radical, wich makes them insane, people can take anything to a radical point, Religion Sience, Politics, Philosiphy, Athelete/celebrity worship, as long as it can be liked or disliked people can be radical about it one way or another

But yea the guy is obviously has a few screws lose.

(but yea Religion is not bad, nor is sience both are mostly theroy & personally I belive both to have many truths and fallicy's man can not explain everything with religion or with science, we use both to understand the universe in wich we live, I for one can proudly say I belive in God & satan, but am not radical in my religious views, I am also tollerent of others views, . But in all honesty to say either science or religion are right all the time is just small minded & iggnorent, one reason im not that fond of the Amish or Atheist, also no offense to people who are of either group, just my personal openion.)

But yea, I Hate radicals, I wish they would just...Go Away....far, far away, into the sun, or a volcano...or somthing.

Yes but that doesn't change the fact that I'm still not a Christian and haven't been since I was born (No offense to anyone else around here) 😛
And yeah, I'm well aware of radicals, plenty of them live around me........

How did you even come across this site?

I saw it posted on another forum I visited.

I just mentioned that part of why I reject organized religion and Christianity in general was due in part of the thought processes of people like this guy. Since I happen to live in the deep south, you get a LOT of people like that. However, I don't think what I said was offensive, I mean, I just mentioned my rejection for a belief system, I never once insulted it.

I can understand though, why you'd take it like that (This being the internet, and people shouting off about things like this and all).

These guys could do a lot for the world by actually following anything Jesus said instead of propping up his name as a mascot who hates whatever they hate.

That said, he does have SOME points. I mean it is NOT crazy to call music that actually explicitly praises satanism as such. But he overgeneralizes so much and brings irrelevancies into it.

http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/CCM/johnny_cash-exposed.htm

Get away from the guilt by association and repetition of his main point, and there is something there. This Danzig logo sounds ridiculously offensive and stupid.

Gonna have to disagree with ya. Just because something reference Satan lyrically doesn't make it actually satanic. Often times its simply used as rebellious imagery (Take for instance, a lot of underground metal bands that do this, often times many are agnostic or atheist and not satanic but use the imagery anyway because its an obvious symbol of rebellion). Not saying that musical acts that are Satanic don't exist (Check the whole subgenre of Black Metal ), but often times when it comes to lyrics in music, they have to be REALLY bad for me to care. Often times lyrics don't mean that much to me (Unless they are done in such a way that makes the song even better).

Where do you read me saying that? o.o I said that it is not crazy to say that music that explicitly praises satanism does so.

I am totally for rebellion against society. But I am for rebellion towards something smarter and better.

There are examples he lists that are totally nauseating. It's hard to use the religiously offensive nature of it in debate, so I won't. Let's get this to some neutral cultural context and suppose that the band praises some other cultural notion of an evil entity, such as the portrayal of thuggees (not accurate) from Indiana Jones. I have to say that is a stupid and obscene way to promote rebellion that is ultimately counterproductive.

It is possible to use offensiveness to make a point, but screaming VIOLENCE RAPE EVIL SATAN does not do that.

Misinterpretation on my part in that case, sorry.

As I said, often times I don't take those kind of lyrics seriously and end up just focusing on the riffs themselves instead of the lyrics. However, I find your analogy incorrect, considering how one interprets Satan's position in terms of Christianity. Satan is often viewed as evil because that's what's pushed down our throats (Or that being simply my opinion, take no offense to this statement please x.x). So whether or not its actually praising an evil entity is subjective honestly.

Also, it just simply put, gets the point across very easily. I don't mind intellectual ways of doing so, but sometimes you just can't replace something that hits you in the face simply and clearly. Although it certainly can be offensive to those that take it that way, to me it doesn't mean anything really. But perhaps being a metalhead myself, I'm just desensitized to it and it really doesn't bother me at all (Or perhaps, on a deeper psychological level, pent up frustrations with my own dealings with Christianity is why something like that doesn't bother me at all, if I'm going to be honest. Again, no offense to those that are, just had my share of fundies to deal with in my time T_T).

I guess its just a matter of how seriously you take things like that affects how willing you are to accept music like that......

No, Satan, in Christianity, is explained as the embodiment of evil. It's Satan that causes all of the bad things in the world. Genocide, racism, death, etc. all come from Satan, he is viewed as evil, because that is what he is. Evil incarnate.

According to God and all of his followers. It could just as easily be the exact opposite, who knows?

But if Satan is to represent evil, does that suggest rebellion itself is an act of evil? After all, that's his most famous act, defying and rebelling against God and Heaven, after all. And the same act which sent him to hell. By that logic, Swanson, does that suggest that questioning authority is evil?

Some of the usage of bible excerpts here is pretty nauseating

These guys could do a lot for the world by actually following anything Jesus said instead of propping up his name as a mascot who hates whatever they hate.

That seems to be the entire point of this web site, looks like~

Yup, it appears so too. Sad, because although I won't deny my negative opinion of it, I've also met some awesome people who were Christians too. It goes both ways, I've just been unfortunate in having met a lot more fundies than the sane ones.

P.S. How goes the chat rping Box? Chat hasn't and refuses to work for me under any browser, hence why you haven't seen me in there, its not a matter of having left v_v

To quote the intro from What If I Stumble by dcTalk (whom the site laughably denounce as evil simply because one of the guys in it was quoted as saying he'd love to hang out with Marilyn Manson and discuss 80's music with him):

"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, then walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable."

I think that says more than I can.

atheists are speaking more truth than others, you should understand without them, without their doubts and strong voices we won't have freedom.
i'm not saying religion is wrong or right, it's just religion can be used for great obressive evil. so it's contrast can be used for good.
