It will the the official MoFo topic on the sport discussed, voted by YOU, the MoFo forummer.
I have seen the great success of the NFL topic, I figure it will be a great idea to discuss other sports (after all, football season will slow down after the Super Bowl (college football seasons are over).
Your choices:
Baseball: America's Favorite Pastime. Currently in their "Hot Stove" season. Discussion will also include the World Baseball Classic (which happens every three years).
Soccer: The World's sport. The United States' Major League Soccer is in the off season but in full swing in other countries.
Basketball: The United States' president's favorite. As of this writing, the NBA is in full swing. The WNBA is in the off season. It may or may not be in season in your country.
Hockey: Canada's favorite. The season is currently reaching their All-Star break with a game in Montreal, Ontario.
Don't like any of these choices? Well, I would like to hear your opinion in the matter. Give me a good reason it should be discussed and if it meets the most votes, I will create a topic on the subject. The sport must fit one of the following categories:
- Should be familiar in most countries (if it's familiar in the United States and Canada, the better) [*]Must be a team sport [*]Should not have just a national team for the sport (if applicable). The sport should have clubs or teams that play for that "Something Special" (For instance: the NFL has thirty-two teams that play for a chance to win the Super Bowl). [/list:u:2d4a516aff]
That is all, happy polling!
NOTE: Polling will close in two days after the creation of this topic. If "Other" wins, I will look at the entries for the sport in question. The sport with the most entries will win. Please, one sport per entry if you vote for "Other". The topic will be created on Friday night, Eastern Time (-5 GMT).

Motorsport! They have teams (usually of two) and certain motorsports such as motorbike racing has regional championships too (see: British Superbikes). 😀 😀 😀 Problem is that it's out of season right now.
And you know. A fair few countries actually give a damn about it. (Mainland) Europe in particular goes nuts for it. Other than non-american football not a single one of those options you've listed is particularly big in Europe. As in all of Europe. Not just mainland.
I must admit though that I have no interest whatsoever in most sports, especially team sports. So yeah 😀
p.s. even though most of the UK is barmy for football I predict that most of brits here won't vote for it D: Wrong demographic.
Just my two pence
p.p.s if you reject that then whatever let's go for cricket
I'll pick a sport that takes real talent, strength and the option to leave a game as a tie!
Hockey all the way! How about them Bruins eh? I'd go to the games but holy cow the tickets are expensive. Could always go see a NY team, but I certainly miss my Whalers... =(
Trudi, it's fine. I listed two sports that are still in the off season. Don't worry.
Ping pong.
That is all.
You're supposed to vote for a sport, Rishi.
F1 racing or figure skating. A strange mix of art or petrolheadism, but both known in North America.
Needs more cricket or rugby
I voted for Hockey because, other than football, it's the only other sport I watch.
Rugby, because that's what I did today and our team won 51 - 7.
Also because it's awesome.
Ping pong is actually a sport, Hukos, also known as table tennis. Unfortunately, it lacks that "something special".
Motorsports is too broad of a category.
F1 racing is a possibility.
Cricket is good as well as rugby.
Hmm. I don't know what to do here. "Other" wins there's one of each choice. I'm still open to suggestions until this same time tomorrow. If there are no more choices, I'll make a topic between baseball and hockey (the two runner ups).
Okay then I join Sam's F1, although i gave a broad subject because i also like MotoGP and wouldn't mind talking about both
Kickball
Because all the others have been ruined thanks to publicly and the NBA, NFL, NHL etc.
There are only two sports I follow: basketball (NBA, WNBA, some Division I college) and to some extent, baseball (MLB).
So, those are the only topics I'd remotely follow if created.
i follow MMA closely, but i may be the only one on the forum to do so, thus not warranting discussion.
Actually, I wouldn't mind an F1 discussion. I'm not exactly an expret on it, but the few times I've watched F1, it has been at least somewhat entertaining for me, although I don't keep up with it 24/7.
