Figured it would have been better to fit both of those in the same topic ๐Ÿ˜›

IRON MAIDEN are pleased to announce that their forthcoming new studio album will be called 'THE FINAL FRONTIER', and is expected be released late summer of this year.

The
announcement comes with news of a North American Tour with Very Special
Guests Dream Theater to open in Dallas, Texas, on 9th June and finish
in Washington D.C. on 20th July, making it Maiden's most extensive
North American tour in many years.

Following these shows in USA and Canada The Final Frontier World Tour
will travel back to Europe for a few selected major festival and
stadium shows with the band planning to continue to many other
countries in 2011 (full currently confirmed dates below).

The full Live Nation North America press release for the North American Tour is posted here.

An
exclusive pre-sale allowing members of the IRON MAIDEN fan club first
access to tickets to the North American Maiden Shows will be made
available two days prior to them being available to the public.

Tickets
for the Canadian shows will go on sale to the public on Saturday 13th
March at 10am PST (10am EST for Toronto and 12 noon EST Montreal).
Exclusive
first access to the tickets will be available to IM fan club members on
Wednesday 10th March at 10am PST through to Thursday 11th March at 6pm
PST (EST for Toronto).

Regretfully due to technical reasons an exclusive Pre-Sale in Montreal is not possible.

Tickets for the US Shows will go on sale to the public on Saturday 20th March at 10am EST.
Exclusive
first access to the tickets will be available to IM fan club members on
Wednesday 17th March at 10am through to Thursday 18th March at 6pm

As
IRON MAIDEN are actively dedicated to ensuring their fans always have

without being subject to scalping for good seats, so many North
American shows will operate, at least in part, a paperless ticket
policy: More information on Ticketmaster Paperless Ticketing can be found here

Totally stoked for this, as anyone that knows me will know
Although the whole space thing confuses me a bit.... are they gonna bust out the synth guitars once again and show a "Somewhere in Time" type of deal? Eh, that could go either way, SiT has some great stuff but some throwaway filler at the same time. Then again, my favorite album by therm also uses synth's, so possibly Seventh Son of a Seventh Son meets Space? One can only hope!

Tickets for Rush go on sale in select markets beginning April 16th at LiveNation.com

TORONTO, April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Rush รขโ‚ฌโ€œ Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart รขโ‚ฌโ€œ is
without question one of the most inventive and compelling groups in
rock history, equally famed for both its virtuoso musicianship and
provocative songwriting.

(Logo:   http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20081203/LAW048LOGO-b )

Announced today, The Time Machine Tour
is an evening with Rush, where they will perform their classics, give a
taste of the future รขโ‚ฌโ€œ and for the first time ever รขโ‚ฌโ€œ feature the Moving Pictures album live in its entirety.

The band is currently working on their 20th studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz
(co-producer from 2007's Snakes & Arrows) and in addition to their
classics plan to showcase a few new tunes live this summer.

"We
were off for a year and a half, and now it's just pouring. Everything
is totally crazy and there's not a minute left in the day. We've got
these half-dozen songs, and we'll probably go in the studio and work on
a couple of them and see how it goes, perhaps release something รขโ‚ฌโ€œ and I
say perhaps รขโ‚ฌโ€œ and then we plan on being on the road," says guitarist,
Alex Lifeson.

This summer's Live Nation promoted tour will visit approximately 40 cities throughout North America beginning June 29th in Albuquerque, NM and finishing October 2nd in West Palm Beach, FL with stops along the way in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Holmdel, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, Washington, and more (complete tour itinerary follows).

Rush
has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and garnered untold
legions of devoted and admiring fans. According to the RIAA, Rush's
sales statistics place RUSH third after The Beatles and The Rolling
Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a
rock band.

Released in 1981, Moving Pictures
was their most successful album, certified 4x Platinum and features
some of Rush's most well known songs and perennial radio favorites Tom Sawyer, Limelight and the Grammy-nominated instrumental YYZ.

"Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage" a documentary created by filmmakers Scot McFadyen & Sam Dunn
(whose filmography also includes: "Iron Maiden; Flight 666," (Hukos approves of this.) "Metal, A
Headbangers Journey" and "Global Metal") will premiere at New York's Tribeca Film Festival on April 24th followed by the Canadian premiere at Toronto's Hot Docs festival on April 29th. The band was also recently showcased in the comedy "I Love You Man" where they play themselves in a concert scene featuring actors Paul Rudd and Jason Segal as uber-fans, a performance which has exposed the band to a whole new generation.

Inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame this past March alongside Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Gordon Lightfoot,
Rush has also been nominated for multiple Grammy awards and won a
number of Juno Awards. They were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall
of Fame in 1994 and bestowed the Order of Canada
in 1997. Consistently celebrated and respected worldwide, Rush is the
most successful Canadian rock band of all time and they remain one of
the biggest grossing arena rock bands ever.

Tickets for Rush Time Machine Tour will go on sale beginning April 16th in San Francisco, Uncasville, Saratoga Springs, Denver, Chicago, Wantagh, Seattle and Holmdel at Livenation.com. Tickets for performances in Milwaukee, Sarnia and Syracuse go on sale April 17th, check local listings for ticket information.

Citiร‚ยฎ cardmembers will have access to pre-sale tickets through Citi's Private Passร‚ยฎ Program beginning April 13th in select markets.  For complete presale details visit www.citiprivatepass.com.

So, Rush comes down to Atlanta, which is ****ing awesome, I might be able to see them if I can scape up enough cash before tickets disappear.

Too bad Maiden aren't coming to Atlanta though, they always ignore the southeast >=C
Still, seeing Rush would be pretty badass and it looks like they're coming up with another album soon, though from the sounds of it its only going to be an EP, but still that would be cool. But playing Moving Pictures in its entirety? MP is a cool album but I'd prefer a 70's/80's mix from them :/
But I'm glad that the same guys that did Iron Maiden's documentary Flight 666 are gonna do the same for Rush, that live album kicked all kinds of ass

Oh well. Still, new material from two of my five favorite bands ever is pretty awesome (1. Iron Maiden, 2. Black Sabbath, 3. The Lord Weird Slough Feg, 4. Rush, 5. Thin Lizzy if you're curious ). Sabbath as you know are in permanent hiatus (Although Heaven and Hell, which is basically Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio and not Ozzy is planning a DVD this year, that's something) and Slough Feg released an album last year so I don't expect them to make something until 2011 at least. And I don't think I have to explain Thin Lizzy's situation. Still, pretty awesome all around, I loved Maiden's last album, even if it was a bit of a grower, looking good!

July 5th. (Wedding Anniversary. Huzzah)

Charter One Pavillion.

Section 308.

Row G

Seats 7, 8.

---May also be at the Minneapolis concert in August, but the July one is a dead cert. I can not wait for this tour to start <3

Also, I am eager to see the Rockumentary "Beyond the Lighted Stage" on June 10th. Being a Rush fan is rewarding this year.

---oh and they're playing all of Moving Pictures, including Camera Eye and Vital Signs. This makes me a happy kitten.

Craig, if you do come to the Minneapolis concert, you'll have to let me know so I can finally meet you ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I'd rather it be A Farewell to Kings in its entirety :/

Still, would be great to actually see them live. Didn't you say you saw them live before Craig? What are they like live?

I would describe Rush as a live band, their studio perforances are, of course, quite good, but live they are a force to be recoked with. Geddy likes using switch triggered samples as his back-up singing, which has turned bad a few times, but normally it goes off without a hitch. Their gigs are always accompanied by great videos, last tour featuring an original skit from Bob and Doug McKenzie and South Park; and of course the live only exclusives, like the extended outro to Mission and Bravado.

Oh and Neil's drum solo.

Live is where it is AT baby.

I've seen a few videos off of Rush in Rio before, but it sounds good, prices for the Atlanta venue range from $40-89 so if I'm frugal, I could afford that plus the taxi to get up there! What do you think they'll play other than MP? I'm more partial to their 70's stuff (I even like Caress of Steel.... Fountain of Lamnenth ftmfw) but Grace Under Pressure/Signals/Power Windows are all cool in my book.

I just with Maiden would come down here ;_;

Still, excited for TFF

Rush is going to be at Summer Fest in July. Wish I had the money to get tickets, as I missed them the last time around and want to see all of Moving Pictures live.

This would happen to be it ๐Ÿ˜›

Obviously there's a space theme. I keep getting the nagging feeling that its gonna be Somewhere in Time part 2 basically, which could either be hit or miss, depending on how things go. I'd rather it be in the same vein that their last album was, because the more I listen to A Matter of Life and Death, the more it grows on me :3

Oh well, no way to know for sure until it comes out.

Also, Nel, where do you live?

A new bit of Rush news for you. As many of those following the tour and new album will know, the band have already got 6 songs in the can, ready for the final release.

What we didn't know until now is that they are intending to release a pair of the songs as a single before the concerts begin to get some airplay on the radio and build up anticipation for the album, which appears to be coming sometime after the tour. So within the next 30 days a pair of new tracks (one is described as Far Cry meets Main Monkey Business) will hit the air.

But of course ๐Ÿ˜›

Eddie's a metroid now! Well, he's been a murderer, a zombie, a cyborg, a phoaroh, a PUPPETMASTER HOLDING SATAN ON PUPPET STRINGS (Tell me that's not badass), a WWII pilot, lobotmized, a fallen soldier, disembodied spirit (At least that's what I think the Seventh son of a Seventh Son version is....), grim reaper, gamer, yeah he's been a lot of things. But Metroid eddies DOES look sexy if I do say so myself :3
