Intereeeesting.

I'm actually disappointed. Firstly the plot seems a little less dramatic than the first movie, though only time will tell if they're just playing up the Playboy Millionaire scenes to make the rest of the movie a surprise.

My biggest concern is the villain, Whiplash. Or Crimson Dynamo. He seems to be a splice of two minor villains--- once again ignoring The Mandarin, who I thought was given decent enough foreshadowing to be the main threat in this movie. It would be like learning the next Hulk villain will be Crusher Creel instead of The Leader who got an origin in the first (second?) movie.

But, hey. Mickey Rourke is amazing, so who knows. At the very least, Iron Man wont have to contend with the ungodly force of Batman to gain appreciation.

Like Craig, I'm disappointed, but not due to the lack of The Mandarin. I'm pissed that Terrence Howard was replaced by Don Cheadle. Don's okay, but Terrence is THE MAN!

Rishi, he wasn't replaced he chose not to portray the character in the second. Also, I have to agree, Cheadle seems more fit for Dramatic movies, not big, blockbuster, action types. I have hope that there is more to the movie than what we're being shown.

Which would make this trailer the polar opposite of the trailer for the first movie.

Well, that sucks even harder then! Fingers crossed that this movie is as badass as the trailer of it I saw yesterday.

I agree, but that was how I reacted to Robert Downey Jr. in a comic book movie too.

Oh wow, there is a naked guy with electric whips. That is incredibly intimidating to 2 guys with mutibillion dollar highly armed armor suits with any advanced scanner that you want to write them as having. Is this a joke? The only way he can appear scary in the trailer is to attack Tony's race car. You could get just as effective a nemesis by casting an overpriced gas station.

.....I don't mind the Crimson/Whiplash fusion. Remembering Whiplash's actual potential, I look forward to the classic whipping electro-whip-so-fast-it-deflects-bullets routine.

I'm psyched for this movie. The trailer for #1 was just as crazy looking, only because...we didn't know what to expect, We saw a tank blow up and him flying around. This one, we see a bunch of cars get blown up and Tony Stark hit while in a car. Same level of intensity.

F you Terrence for not being in Part II, but hell I still like Don. We'll see how this goes. On my A-OK list.

What the? He chose not to be in the sequel? I know Swanson already mentioned it, it's just I never read anything about it anywhere. I just remember reading that Marvel dropped him due to contractual difficulties. Oh well.

I remember the Tony Stark cameo at the end of The Incredible Hulk last year, but I'm pretty sure the Hulk's not gonna be in this movie. Maybe in the Avengers movie or something. I don't know..... yet. Anyway, if you watched all of the credits to last year's Iron Man movie, you would've seen Tony meet Nick Fury at the very end of the movie. Fury will have a much more prominent role in this movie.

Patience is a virtue, y'know! Anyway, if you have the DVD version of Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay, then also watch that until the very end of the credits (if you haven't done so already). God, I LOVE that movie! Sooooo many vaginas!

It's not in this teaser, but in the theatrical Trailer (on youtube via handheld camera, natch) Fury is there, talking with Tony in a donut shop.

Guys, look up the upcoming Avengers movie. Most of Marvel's movie output after Spider Man is unashamedly building up to it, which is what Fury was doing in the original Iron Man in the first place...

Yeah, I noticed that. Marvel blatantly connected the Iron Man and Incredible Hulk movies of last year for that very purpose of building up to the upcoming Avengers movie. Either way though, hopefully the Avengers movie will live up to the hype.

What Sam said. They're working on Thor an Captain America as well which will tie-in directly to the Avengers movie. However...First Avengers is slated for summer 2011, right? That seems way too soon. They've got three more movies to do before then[well 2 since IM2 is basically finishing up now]. Anyway i'm killer pumped for what Marvel is trying to accomplish. I think they'll pull it off.

The confirmed line-up for the upcoming Avengers movie consists of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow and Thor.

Daredevil is caught in a right's loophole, I believe Columbia(?) have the rights for the character (as well as Spider-Man villain The Kingpin) and he cannot be used, plus he is not an Avenger unless Joephisto is doing a marketting ploy and replacing Matt Murdock with Iron Fist.

The Avengers line-up isn't confirmed yet, but seems to be Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Black Widow and Ant Man. Hulk is rumored to be the villain. All in all it looks exciting, but we still have to wait until 2012.

What he said. Although I'm crossing my fingers for the Justice League, since we allegedly have another Superman reboot coming up, allegedly have a Wonder Woman movie coming up and the Green Lantern movie's in the pipeline.

Black Widow as one of the Avengers in the first Avengers film? What on earth is this. Give me the classics of Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Ant Man and the Wasp and if there's space then add in Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Black Widow just seems an odd choice o.o

But it allows for extra audience appeal through showing Scarlett Johannson in something tight-fitting...

I agree and disagree with Rishi. Ultimate Cap and Iron Man are certainly worse, but I think they actually made the Black Widow, Nick Fury, and the Hulk cool in the Ultimate universe. Not to mention Thor could actually kick huge amount of ass.

Black Wido-Wtf No. No. This is in complete error. Im nw not liking i-JOHANSEN AS BLACK WI--No this is already leaning toward HORRID fanservice -.-

I'm not too keen on Thor...I'm looking forward to Cap A...and well Ant Man? Really? Hell why not Wonder Man? Let's go that route. Hell, add Wolverine for giggles!

Your right, your totally right. They should have just left Thor and Ant-Man, 2 of the FOUNDING MEMBERS of the team out of the movies, because obviously nobody would be interested in those characters, I mean it's not like they've had a major impact on comics and sell tons of comics a year, and the utter AUDACITY of making Scarlett Johannson The Black Widow. They clearly should have used someone who looked more like her. Oh wait! Johannson does look like her. So much so, that some artists use her as a reference.

PS. This is the reason I don't join most comic book-based discussion, because these are the majority of my posts.

It's funny how many complain about the fan service aspect of the Black Widow character, as if they have never seen the character before. Like tight black leather red head Russian just screamed, "Character first" or something.

Guess it's true. Fan's are never happy...

"No, no Black Widow should not be in the Avengers movie" yet no one has screamed that Nick Fury shouldn't look like Samuel L Jackson? XD

Yeah, Nick Fury was originally white. But Samuel L. Jackson is a badass actor, so it's all good in the hood!

That's what I said about Michael Clark Duncan as Kingpin, while some people were complaining that Kingpin should be white. I think it was a great casting.

But Samuel Jackson is a famous badass and Nick Fury is not as iconic (TV roles) a character, so there are probably not many complaints this time.

K

Swanson: I didn't say that should leave Thor out. I'm just not too keen on how Thor's gonna turn out. I have a funny feeling its gonna remind me of Beowolf, and I don't want that to happen. Yes, Ant-Man was a founding character of the Avengers, and its kinda sad he doesn't get his own movie. But I never really liked Ant Man, so I'm really not going to care too much about him.

As for this Black Widow business, what? She looks like Black Widow? Must take closer look.

...Back. Thank you Wiki. I don't like Johansen. That's my beef. That's all. Yeah I retract my earlier haterade infused statement. She might make a good one, but I just dun like her. She doesn't seem to fit that role and she'd hafta try hella hard to convince me in IM2.

As for Nick Fury overhaul-Danmight Sam Jackson all the way xD!

Okay, Darkest I see what you were saying and I do agree. Ant-Man was suppose to get a movie from the director of Shaun of the Dead but he went to go film something else. I also have the same begrudging feeling of the Thor movie. But, if they can make him cool they can certainly make Captain America cool. Thor will be their real test, because honestly, Iron Man is a pretty cool super-hero for people who aren't into super-heroes. Thor and Captain America, not so much.
