Anyone ever hear/ever use this on the MoFo?
If you're not aware of what lastfm is, its a radio-service that automatically scrobbles what you listen to and records it and gives you reccomendations for similar artists (The system isn't perfect though, it bases genres on "tags" which can be edited by anyone. That's fine and good for most people, but there are people like me who are overly pretentious dorks about correct genre-labeling XD)
It also lets you compare your tastes to other people, which I think is pretty cool >.>
Still, I enjoy it and thought it would be cool to to make a MoFo group there or something >_>
I use Playlist and Pandora but Last is good too
Well, the point of this thread is to see if enough people use it so that we could start a MoFo group or something. Just a thought. *Shrug*
I'd post mine, but I kinda feel like that's spamming and all......
I haven't used it in a while, mostly because the scrobbling system doesn't recognise non-iPod players. It recognises what's on my hard drive, but that is a fraction of my music.
For what it's worth, I'm at http://www.last.fm/user/darkwinguk

Music you have in common includes Jethro Tull and Alice Cooper.

I guess a MoFo group is feasible lol
And Deep Purple apparently

EDIT: And Albino Rapper & I have extremely similar tastes too
DP is good for a once and a while listen for me lol
I guess I like some of the rock groups that are metal before metal existed if you know what I mean (Which is why Prog Rock is my preffered rock of choice, considering many early bands were influenced by prog rock)
Mostly metal/prog but I'm open to try anything.... I'm just ridiculously picky when it comes to actually liking said band. That being said, there are bands I've dismissed upon first listen that I grew to love once I gave them repeated chances (The entire genre of death metal applies under this. I thought it trash at first, and while there are a lot of awful DM bands, there are some pure gems hidden underneath the junk, like Atheist <3 <3 <3). Funny how things work out like that, eh?
I know I have an account I haven't accessed in ages. My stuff in there is a mix of Chinese and Japanese music from dramas. I also had at some point a very nice Indie Rock collection thanks to a colleague of mine who used to be a DJ for his undergrad in Boulder, Colorado. Which reminds me, he owes me a new CD compilation
I might still have Radiohead, The Faint, Tilly and the Wall, and similar bands in there.
