1) What are the side effects of depression?
Lack of motivation is one... I also heard it affects the heart. It hsortens your life span...
and some people turn to drugs or alchoholism because of it.

2) Does the side effects of depression affect male or female more?
Um, I'm not sure but I'm going to say it affects females more.

3) Does depression effect the daily lifestyle?
Yeah, people probably wouldn't be motivated to do some things so they may not do them as well or not do them at all. They'd probably lose interest in stuff they'd usually do, too. Heck, I heard some people stop showering regularly.

4) What do you think are the most severe side effects of depression?
Well... thoughts of suicide and turning to drugs/alchohol.

5)
What do you think are the best ways to solve depression?
I'm not sure... I think it would depend on what they're depressed about and trying to find a way to solve the problem.

6)
Does depression lead to Alcoholism or Vice Versa?
It probably goes both ways. Depression can lead to Alchoholism and Alchoholism can lead to depression.

7)
Does your appetite decrease or increase during depression?
It would probably decrease since your more interested in whatever you're depressed about... though, some people may want to distract themselves or indulge in pleasure to sort of numb the pain so their appetite may increase.

8.
How long does depression last?
Um... it varies. Some people could be depressed from childhood to adulthood... others could only be depressed for a week or a day...

9)
Is divorce a Cause of depression?
Yeah, if the other person in the marriage is filing for divorce but you still love them.

10) Does stress lead to depression?
Yeah, I imagine so. Sometimes people want to get away from all those things they have to do; but realize they can't so they might get depressed over it.

1) What are the side effects of depression? fatigue, sadness, loss of interests, loss of motivation
2) Does the side effects of depression affect male or female more? Hard to say. I'd have to say females. No offense to the opposite gender, of coarse.
3) Does depression effect the daily lifestyle? Of coarse. I can change routines causing as person to feel overly lazy. And not wanting to participate in things
4) What do you think are the most severe side effects of depression? I'd have to say fatigue.
5) What do you think are the best ways to solve depression? Perhaps a good vacation. maybe some doctor prescribed medications. Meditations and breathing exercises. Healthy foods and exercise
6) Does depression lead to Alcoholism or Vice Versa? Alcohol is often considered a form of stimulant, much the same as tabacco and other such drugs.
7) Does your appetite decrease or increase during depression? There's more a craving for sugary sweets in my case. Which if abused too much could lead to a diabetic phase.
8. How long does depression last? It varies, from days, weeks or even months. Its according to the person, I think. And the eforts to kep the depression under control.
9) Is divorce a Cause of depression? Yes. Heartbreak, budget disputes and property disputes.
10) Does stress lead to depression? Of coarse.

Maybe NOT the best person to act as I'm answering from within the throws of it.

1) What are the side effects of depression?

Withdrawing from social interaction and activities the person enjoyed, superficial reactions, lethargic disposition.

2) Does the side effects of depression affect male or female more?

I would assume it would affect both equally

3) Does depression effect the daily lifestyle?

Very adversely, yes.

4) What do you think are the most severe side effects of depression?

Refusal to care for their own personal needs and of course suicidal tendencies.

5) What do you think are the best ways to solve depression?

Minor fixes would be people keeping the person busy doing things they know the person enjoys and talking to them to make so they aren't isolated. The only real solution is for the person to decide to deal with the cause of the depression. No amount of shrinks are going to do a bit of good.

6) Does depression lead to Alcoholism or Vice Versa?

Thats the old chicken and the egg question. But yes, Depression CAN lead to alcoholism. And stupidity CAN lead to death. It's the only cause or the only effect.

7) Does your appetite decrease or increase during depression?

Could be either depending on the person.

8. How long does depression last?

Again varies with the situation.

9) Is divorce a Cause of depression?

Any traumatic event can be, so yes.

10) Does stress lead to depression?

See previous answer.

I'll answer these questions for you, Spawn. And for an added bonus, I'm drunk AND depressed.

1) What are the side effects of depression?
- Lack of self-esteem, fleeting thoughts of suicide, fleeting thoughts of homicide, not giving a flying **** about anything anymore, which includes just giving up on yourself and others, uselessness in situations where you KNEW you could have done something.
2) Does the side effects of depression affect male or female more?
- Male more, in my opinion. A tub of ice cream isn't going to make my problems go away, and drinking myself stupid hasn't helped either.
3) Does depression effect the daily lifestyle?
- Yes, it does. It affects the way you think, the way you act, around family members, around friends.
4) What do you think are the most severe side effects of depression?
- Suicide, and/or homicide.
5) What do you think are the best ways to solve depression?
- Positive attitude and a positive change in the person's life.
6) Does depression lead to Alcoholism or Vice Versa?
- I drank before I was depressed because I liked drinking, but I don't drink because I am depressed.
7) Does your appetite decrease or increase during depression?
- At the moment, I'm not feeling very hungry, and I haven't even eaten for over 8 hours. Instead, I'm feeling sick to my stomach.
8. How long does depression last?
- It depends upon each case.
9) Is divorce a Cause of depression?
- It can be a cause and effect of depression.
10) Does stress lead to depression?
- Yes, it does, but it's not the only thing stress can lead to.

By the way, no one take this the wrong way, either. More than likely I'll be back to normal by the time I wake up.

Well I have every single bit of the survey stuff, that I have for my college psychology class, done now, partially thanks to every single one of the people that have their posts answer the survey questions here in this thread. So thank you people, the rest I just did on my own, and typed up on my own, that's a survey report, and other stuff related to that. So thanks again people, since you people have been a big help in all of this. Atleast I'm done now so no more help is needed.

Those sound more like questions you do after a reading assignment rather than an actual survey. o_O

10 Survey Questions
1)
What are the side effects of depression?

Angry all the time, unmotivation, feeling you are alone in the world, withdrawel from being social, lowering of self-esteem, you will blame yourself mostly for the mistakes you've made but will take out your anger on others.

2) Does the side effects of depression affect male or female more?

This is irrelevant. You aren't just "depressed." You had to get like that somehow due from experience.

3) Does depression effect the daily lifestyle?

YES! You don't want to do the things you usually do. You will say no to doing things you normally wouldn't have a second thought about because you'd prefer to be alone and wallow in your misery. Like wanting to go out to a club...but instead you'd just stay at home and mope and probably sleep a LOT.

4) What do you think are the most severe side effects of depression?

Thoughts of suicide and violence towards others.

5) What do you think are the best ways to solve depression?

Try something different, take long breaks, go for walks, find someone to talk to and vent out your frustrations. If possible try to be positive. For each negative comment you receive you need over twice as much positive feed back to increase you motivation and self-esteem again. This applies to the person afflicted to depression and they shouldn't beat themselves up over something that cannot be helped.

6) Does depression lead to Alcoholism or Vice Versa?

No. I drink and this never happens. It is only a drug that could maybe dull your pain for the moment. It is a "depressant" drink though and makes you sleepy. Probably not the best idea to drink while you are depressed. The only thing it could do is increase your side effects.

7) Does your appetite decrease or increase during depression?

Yes. Its different for multiple people. Some eat when they are stressed and some people just lose their appetite completely.

8. How long does depression last?

Days, Weeks, Months, and even years.

9) Is divorce a Cause of depression?

Yes.

10) Does stress lead to depression?

Hell yes.

True, but I had to do much of the same, back when I was in school.
