Anyone who participated last year got to experience the glittery glory that was Astrid's fun holiday project, along with a bunch of cute Christmas cards from MoFoers all across the globe.
...okay, maybe that's stretching it a little bit, but it was definitely fun, and hopefully we can get more participation this time around and spread more holiday cheer. So how do you participate? For those who don't remember last year or are new this year, it goes as follows:
1) If you want to participate, leave a reply in here saying you want to join in.
2) EzPM me your address. If you can't send your address, well.. that defeats the point of having a card in-hand ^^; Also, it doesn't matter where in the world you live; postage isn't expensive for cards.
The cutoff date for this will be 6PM CDT December 8th.
3) After 6PM, I'll send out ezPMs or emails (emails preferred, as apparently EzBread only lets you send out 5 private messages a day or something. >> that's no good.) with the person's address you'll be sending it to. A sort of Secret Santa thing.
4) Send your card out no more than a week later to accomodate for postal service problems at this time of year.
5) Sit by your mailbox and wait for your card!
Like Astrid, I'll also be sending out cards to everyone who participates. Depending on how much time I have, they may or may not be hand drawn (I'm really hoping to do so). Ask anyone who did this last year and I'm sure they'll tell you it was really nice to see a card addressed to them from your average everyday MoFoer. ^^

WAAAH. I'm so excited! I bought Christmas stamps today for everyone's cards. ^^ Once I get paid I'm gonna get some awesome Christmas cards 'cause I'm already so busy this season; I don't wanna disappoint anyone but I also know my limits.
A tip for paranoid parents: explain it to them in really simple form. You don't want to patronize them, but you also want to show that while their worry is justified, this is just a fun way to spread some holiday cheer. Plus, those who are sending a card have also placed their trust in someone else. Trust me, I've been there when it comes to consulting with parents about online people. This usually works. ^^

also for Creo: the reason you didn't get a card is because your card sender was a noob I can't remember the name of now, who stopped posting here 6 months or so ago and never added anything of value to the forum. I know we can't have a verification of people's goodness before we let them participate in the exchange, but I'd like to reiterate a point I made last year to everyone thinking of doing/doing this:
IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO ACTUALLY SEND A CARD DO NOT JOIN. IT IS NOT COOL TO BREAK PROMISES UNLESS YOU ARE TRYING TO BLACKMAIL SOMEONE.
I have no idea where your card from me went though. I will send you another this year from England and maybe it will get to you! 
I'm certainly not missing out this year round. Count me in, and go check your EZinbox in a coupla minutes.

It's all good though. I'm about halfway through your guys' cards so I can get them out of the way and not end up rushing them when the busy season with UPS and final exams hits.
We've got one more week to sign up, people! I can always write more cards and get more postage! It doesn't matter what country you're from, and don't let my previous message regarding non-Americans scare you away :3 I love you guys!
Also, I restate: it would really help me out if I could email rather than ezPM. I don't want to run into the same problem Astrid did last year. I know some of you have posted your emails, and for that I thank you muchly. **hug!**

The reason I ask for others' emails is because ezbread only allows a person to send something like five PMs a day. And with 13 people to send addresses to, that's no good when time's limited as it is.

So now you've got an address to send a card to. So what do you do now?
Get yourself a card!
Or better yet, MAKE a card! ^^ Regardless of what you do, it means the world to someone if you personalize it. Get a card with a prewritten message? Add your own message to it, draw a little picture, write a note, add a photo or something... Make it mean something to the person receiving it. That's what makes it fun for both ends. Go nuts!
