While cruising on I-80 on my way back from NY, it occurred to me that I could see Aurora on the map and that I was about an hour away from Tricia and Craig.

Mike, how long of a drive is it from Minn to Illi? Tigger, how far are you? Maybe we could swing by your state on the way. I got about 7-8 hours to Chicago. Maybe we could all meet up in the city?

I don't live directly in Atlanta, but I'm outside the city, about 20 miles southeast of it in Conyers, GA. I don't really have a car >.>

If you really wanted to meet up with me, you could always pick me up and I'd be more than willing to hang out for the day, provided that its saturday/sunday cause well, I need all the hours i can get at work right now lol.

I'm in Rockford, exactly about an hour and 15 minutes west from the I-90 exit off of nearby Michigan Ave or so's area.

Traffic allowing, of course. With traffic, it takes about 81 hours. Give or take an oasis or two.

Dragon*Con is the holy Mecca of my geekdom which calls me home every year, and much like an infertile science crabman monster with not enough CRAW, I am forced to sit in IL and look at highlights on the internet each year. Perhaps next year, I always mutter, in defeat.

I would be enthused to help, aid and even host any meet-up that could happen, though. Now Tricia and I are stable in our own place and with cash to throw around, driving around the country like lunatics doesn't sound as petty and immature as it used to.

Illinois would definitely increase the likelihood that I could make it ... IIRC IL is only 5 or 6 hours away for me.

Ahhh the possibilities! I say Chicago for sure and I think Illinois folks should be in charge of giving us dates as options. I got a couple of weekends booked off with dancing recitals and odd encounters but we so could make this work. => Jin, Craig, Tricia and GT it's awesome that you all live close by too.

FAIL on my part. I was in NY only over the weekend. I usually visit once or twice a year since my dad lives there. I hanged around SI mostly though. I didn't even get to go to Bklyn or the city this time around, which makes me sad because I really really wanted pizza!

I've been trying to plot a trip to annoy Jin, Tricia, and molest Craig of course for awhile.  Work has me flogged nearly all the time, and this month I'm otherwise engaged taking care of a kid.   I'm hoping things settle down enough for him to go home in a week though.  But if this is after June 24th I'll find SOME way to go.  By then this little sqwerl will be home, I'll have my roof and A/C repaired, and probably be topping 3 weeks of vacation time coming.

Dragon Con =/= my thing. Maybe if it were ACen or C2E2, then hells yeah, but ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh on the Dragon Con. The sci-fi and the DnD stuff just doesn't suit me. ;P

When will you be driving through Chicago? Maybe we can do a meet up with Illy-Mofos at like Shaumburg (Woodfield Mall meet up and go from there). We can all go to Millenium Park and hit downtown ChiTown from there? I'unno... just a thought. I need super advanced notice though because I need to set time away from work. (retail sucks).

This year the two of us didn't make it to C2E2, but we always manage the time to get to Rosemont for the anime con. If you're there future years let us know, we'll kidnap you.

Lolz. We would LIKE to partake in some Acenness, for sure. But this year all we had the monies for was the C2E2s. I'm saying out of Acen, C2E2, and Dragon*Con, Acen and C2E2 would be our picks. ;P
