For those who remember, I served a two-year mission in Utah a few years ago. I joined the MoFo before it for about a year or so before going, then came back to the MoFo after I finished my mission.
I'm going back, this time for school at BYU. I'll be driving by myself from Illinois to Utah; I leave the evening of the 19th and it's estimated that I'll get to Utah in two days at the earliest. BYU is the next stop in my quest to be a voice actor/fiction writer, and there will be more opportunities for me to spend time with people my age in RL who share similar standards to my own.
I do not know the situation yet as far as my net connection there; I'll have to snatch opportunities on other computers for a while, which means no IM access. I am getting a new laptop with wireless, but it was delayed until the 11th of next month, so unless it arrives sooner, it may be until then before I can get dependable access to the net. Even then, I need to find a good wireless spot to use.
So just to letcha all know that I'm changing timezones and states, and it may be some time before I have reliable net access again.
What timezone is that, just to make sure?
Mountain, one hour behind us.
~Tobe
But Moutnain is two behind us here in CW time.
Anyway, good luck with that, Terg.
Yo, I'm right to the Southeast in the Four Corners of New Mexico, we should chill sometime.
Chill is a pronoun, not a verb. >=C

Most uncool, SX.
Well, good luck with that, Terg. =]
You're right it's not a verb in the context I used it in if you ignore all colloquialisms all the time (and have fun with that). But what if you're just assuming the wrong context? Utah can get quite cold at times, in fact I was planning on going up there this winter for a skiing expedition. Chill is indeed a verb in that context.
A moot point, because not one of the five dictionaries around the office list chill as a pronoun. It can be a verb, a noun or an adjective, but never a pronoun.
Glad to see you wish Terg well.
Well, good luck with the move then, Terg. See you soon, hopefully.
Have fun, Terg. We'll still be here when you get back.
Yeah, I remember when you left for Utah Terg (or at least, I've been told that a little after you left). But anyway, good luck again. =D
Well, here at UAB, there's practically wireless in every building on campus (I've rarely encountered spots where I couldn't use wireless). Considering how much more prominent BYU is (in terms of name recognition), I would imagine they have wireless in quite a few places as well.
'Kay, I don't think anyone got it, except maybe Mofir.
Anyway, if tat second part was sarcasm too (Honest apology if it isn't, it's hard to tell in text someimes) I wished Terg luck before you did. 😛
Anyway, tell us if you see anything neat down there.

Yeah, especially if you see two naked men on a boat.
If the university is anything like my college here in Denver, net access will not be an issue.

If you see two naked women on a boat, take a picture and share it with the rest of us, edited of course.
n_n Yeah. Might have to visit ya Terg, as I'm due for a Western Road trip this October. Have fun out there...
Srol and US007 out there as well >> Sweet I have people to stalk n_n!!!
Uh, DL?
UAB is in Alabama.
o.o
**nods** I'm at a community college (College of DuPage FTW), and they have wifi access all over the campus. It would likely be the same for a college with dorms as well (gotta do your research somehow, right? ^^) Getting online will not be a problem whatsoever.
Good luck on your move, Tergodude 😀 **hugs!** I'm sure you'll adjust nicely.

Oh, awesome! That will surely be fun.
Keep cool, and see you when you get to Brigham Young! (Not literally, of course, but you knew that. :p)
I got delayed by a car problem; the engine light came on just after I finally got on the road at 2 am this morning. But I'm going to be leaving soon after it comes back from the dealership.
Just wanted to let everyone know it may even be later than I previously predicted for when I'll be there. Thanks for all the well-wishing, it is appreciated.
You know you normally don't need to drop it off right? Any good dealer should be able to jsut plug the little computer into it and check it in a few minutes free of charge.
I've never met a Utan before. ^_^; Good luck, Tergonaut.
O.o 007: Damn yer abbreviations. I thought UAB was for University of Arizona-(Insert town with B as first letter). My fault for bad speculation.
Good luck Terg on your trip.
Just be careful with any passengers you take.
Specially if they are girls.
You never know these days. ;D
Ah yes, Utah... they don't have 10-foot Sonics in Utah. FexusFan quoting aside, good luck with the trip, Terg.
Current status: at a relative's house checking e-mail and such, soon going to head down to where I will be staying and start the process of settling in, unloading, and getting all the chores done that need doing.
The car needed an oil change anyway as it turned out, but that wasn't what caused the engine light to come on; it was a pressure switch for the power steering that had gone bad. Not the steering itself, just the switch. They didn't have the part on hand to fix it, but they said I could drive to Utah and get it fixed there without worrying, since they were able to check and see that the car was otherwise functioning well. I'll get it fixed soon.
I drove to Iowa on the edge of Nebraska the first day; the second day, drove all the way across Nebraska, Wyoming, and into Utah on Interstate 80, then finally got in to where I am now at two or three in the morning. Got a good rest for the night, going to finish up here and head down to where I'm staying. I feel a ton accomplished just for making it all the way here by myself, as it turned out I didn't have any passengers, attractively-female or otherwise. 😛 Oh well, maybe next time.
So yeah, I'm fine here. I'll try to get it figured where the public library is so I can check in later.
Coolies. I hope you didn't have to pee the whole way there!
Road trip! *music plays*
Status: At the location where I am staying, cleaning up the apartment in the basement as I juggle appointments with car repairs, bike repairs, the public library (where I am writing from now), laptop buying (the laptop I ordered was being delayed so long that it was canceled, so I went out and bought a new one; it'll be ready for me in the next day or so), and food gathering.
That's it for now, still doing good.
Oh yea, just skip Colorado altogether why don't you...:cukoo
Glad to see you made it okay.
Okay, now I'm not only feeling tons better after settling in for longer, I just got my shiny new laptop today - and via the public library's wireless, here I am! The laptop seems to be working great, I've still got to tinker with the settings and downloads and things but I think I'm set to be a bit more stable online.
Only trouble is I'm limited at the moment by the library's opening and closing times, but I may be able to find other places with hotspots to use for later at night. Nevertheless, as long as I'm careful with my time, I should be able to come around more often.
I guess I'm done nearly with the purpose of this thread XP although maybe I can keep people updated with wild and wacky BYU happenings.
if you're sneeky, you could leach a wireless connection off someplace big like a collage or a bigger cafe.
g'luck! *half wishes she has a laptop. there was a near-miss today with her freind's computer when a kitten knocked over a half-cup of coffee over the wall NEXT to it* o@;
