I was just skimming through some of my old internet haunts, and I just found out that the Sonic Foundation is ten years old this year. Not only that, but the art site, Side 7, is still up and running.
The tSf was my first foray into the online Sonic community. It was the very first message board I joined upon getting the internet in the late '90s, and Side 7 was where I used to have my art before I moved to DeviantArt.
Where does the time go?
Man and I was there when that site first went up.
10 years? holy cow... that does make me feel old!
Did either of you ever go into the TSF chat room?
Oh, I did, Hidoi!
I remember TSF from 1998 onwards. It was one of the first Sonic sites I ever went on (although, if I remember correctly, Sonic HQ was actually the very first Sonic site I ever went on back in 1998). I used to go on TSF on a daily basis to read about the latest Sonic news and listen to Sonic MIDIs, but then I stopped doing that a few years later as my life changed quite drastically. Good times, man, good times! They were some of the fondest moments of my life and I'll NEVER forget them. *sighs wistfully*
I don't remember ever going to the chat.
I wish I knew what happened to the art gallery there. The tSf had so many good artists, but now they've dropped off the internet.

I'm suddenly reminded of T2..... oh wait, that was Team Artail. And it's still kickin' after all these years! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
I hope time takes you to great times KaylaTheHedgehog.
Holy crap... I remember submitting fan-art to tSF and reading Dub's comic, Time Trouble, starring Kedzie.
Good times.
But, I've only been on the internet since 2000. So I cannot recall it when it was starting.
wow Kedzie!
I used to go to the chat (Hi I'm Jackie M Woodland =P)
But, yeah I do miss the good old days. Most of the artists from TSF are at DA, or at least some of them. By sheer luck I found DannyDevi (Neko), Steve the Cheetah, Gina-Su and others
Did you just call Dub's comic, Time Trouble and Chip & Walter OLD?
GOD DAMMIT. He never finished it either!!! >.< (Can't say much, I killed e-diots 3 times).
But yeah, we're all (or most of us) in our early to mid 20s and we're feeling old already, and honestly I blame the internet and how easy it is to catch cultural references on here.
I remember when AOL was the shiznit. Then I discovered the "BROWSE THE WEB" button, and my mind was blown forever.
I never said old just that I remember reading it and that those were good times.
I dunno if he ever will finish it, but I did love it back in the day
Well that's certainly a very nice compliment there Craig Bayfield.
Dubsy is very talented. I'm skimmed Chip and Walter a few times.
I know that T2 took down all her art because people kept stealing it, but I wonder what happened to super_sonic_ssj? He did a very hilarious mini comic starring him and Metallix that I have been trying to find again.
How many here remember Vortex and his scromics? And the times when everybody did a skit for their kiloposts?
Hahah, I do recall Texy's scromics. He's still got the same sense of humor, to this day, but mostly sticks to flash movies on NG now.
...and I was giving about 5 minutes of consideration to doing a skit, due to the sudden burst of nostalgia.
I decided against it.

Yup, I remember reading Chip & Walter/Time Trouble by Dubs several years ago. I also remember Vortex's scromics back in the day. And yeah, T2 took her work down due to art theft, which is EPIC SUCKAGE. >_>;
I was rather shocked that the tSfMB was still alive, considering the rest of the site is dead. It was where I first started stealing sanity, and where I gained the ability to morph into a cardinal. Ah, the newbie roasts of old.
This has turned out to be a pretty kickass thread for nostalgic memories. DIGGIN' IT, Y'ALL.
I agree with you Rishi.
I agree with you Rishi.
I agree with myself too!
