In other words, who's ready for another round of NaNoWriMo? For those who don't know, you write 50,000 words before december, can be about anything you want, nobody has to read it. If you fail, you disgrace your family and must undergo the water torture and buri-buri.
I've tried to do this for the past two years, but I've never gone the distance. This year I am no more determined than I was last year, but I am human so I keep on going like an outdated ipod. But I do have more story ideas this time, in case one of my stories comes to a premature end like Firefly.
So who's up for it? Lets hear your great story ideas.
I'm all ready to start typing tomorrow. Last year was suprisingly easy, despite concerns.
This year I'm unemployed, have potted coffee, an iPod and a desktop PC.
I will not be stopped.
Oh, I thought you meant Election month... But actually that would have started around June with all the damned political ads =|
Now I came in here expecting there to be some sort of bondage celebration month that had escaped my notice until now. How dissapointing.
Also, there's no way known to man I'd ever participate in this, especially this month with so many good video games coming out!
I could probably take a shot at this. But I don't know anything interesting enough to squeeze out that many words...

How about an autobiography?
I've already plotted out a basic sketch of my story. Somehow, I'll have to find the time for actually writing, working around term papers and all that jazz. Still, I'm quite excited for my first foray into this tradition.
So, umm... has anyone in this forum actually sucessfully made a 50,000 word writing?
If so, consider me amazed.

multiple people have done it multiple times
Aww, I was all set to drop in here with a quote from Morticia Addams.
No Nano wotsit for me, I'm afraid. I lack the imagination and creative skill to write a pamphlet, never mind 50,000 words. I'll stick to reading what authors produce for me

I completed my NaNo novel on my second try in 2006. Last year I decided college and working took up too much of my time to participate. This year, college and work to actually pay rent are kicking my butt so count me out again. But I'll be cheering Kitty on throughout his endeavors and wish good luck to others who are participating ^^

I certainly dropped the ball. Traditionally, I'm the one to start a thread like this.
This is my sixth year doing it (all five previous have been successful). I'm off to a good start with 7,007 words so far.
Aww stupid work and school are screwing with me. Most I could do is start writing my manuscript about my research since no one has to read it ^^
I'll work on the ideas for next year's story though.
Happy writing everyone!
Wow, you people are amazing...
Not doing it once again. However I have an idea in mind for a start to some short stories. I doubt with my schedule of work and play I'll make 50,000 words so I'm not wasting anyone's time with NaNo. I'll post one in carnie if I complete it.
My excuses aside, good luck to Craigleupagus and you other brave souls.
