Japan just has better advertizements. Survive Style 5+ proves this point quite well. The Sonic Spinball advertizement is my favorite for it's REAL AMERIKANO ACKSHUN!--- and then you have the Sonic CD one with Metal Sonic and Sonic fighting in awesomeness.
We really need a decent Sonic Jam style compilation, Gems and Mega Collection were halfassed in their extra content, Black Knight had the right idea with the fanart, but we need MOAR.

as for why no one else makes cute commercials like japan, i'm sure they're thinking "why dont we have seriousness in our media", i really think i'd get bored if every culture did the same thing.
