You've done it, I've done it, we've all done it at some point in our lives. Some more frequently than others.

Here's a post on procrastination to procrastinate fixing some figures to be publication quality for a paper I'm submitting to a journal. Why? Because I know next to nothing about PhotoShop and I'm not happy with my boss (yet again). I've done well this weekend and ended up procrastinating. Yet I got an oral presentation tomorrow at 9 am. My ppt presentation you ask? Ummm I'll pull it together soon I imagine.

Left work around 4 pm on Friday and what did I do? Not work from home finishing editing the paper but read a 348 page book I got at Borders the other day. Saturday I had bellydancing class followed by more procrastination by spending time at a music store. I ended up buying a Djembe and signing up for drum circle classes. Went to buy food and instead of writing I spent quality time on Facebook and DeviantArt. Around 3 I went to my new condo to put the deposit down. Went to buy stuff for the BBQ and randomly decided to help the hostess get ready for the party so I would have an excuse to not sit home and stare at the paper.

So it's Sunday and I opened my MacBook staring at the unopened file... yeah well got up around 2 since I decided to sleep in and cooked because I was hungry. Around 5 I sit back down but wait my mom's on Skype! So I had to show off my new Djembe. Ended up coloring my hair purple and red and blow drying it so I could straighten it. By now it's close to 8 so I'm on the phone for 1 hour and instead of writing I have a 2 hour drumming session. I've been playing sudoku for an hour already... time does fly!

Other than surfing random sites, drumming, dancing around, reading (especially fan fiction), I also play with beads making necklaces and bracelets.

So my question to you is: What do you do to kill time and procrastinate on something? Be it school work, job-related or chores.

I'm pretty much the KING of procrastination. No kiddin' either. I do almost ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to procrastinate when it comes to doing boring, mundane crap. Hell, I'm procrastinating my driving practice right now by being on this very forum!

Hell, I cleaned house like a madman. For two days straight, (and crap still ain't done cuz I got no help >.> *eyes the woman...*). And I SHOULD have started earlier in the week, but I told myself doing this would exhaust me, and thus knocking me the f--- out on the bus ride to the airport and on the flight to Vegas this morning.

While true, holy crap I should NOT have agreed to that send-off cookout that my future mom-inlaw talked us into. That totally set me back a few hours.

I leave for our bus in about 30 minutes.

...

I haven't gotten any sleep. x___x

I procrastinate on things by either reading (TV Tropes doesn't help), writing, playing videogames or just not doing a darn thing. I used to be awful about procrastinating on school work (Doing a 20 page paper on the last evening, epic stuff) but what is worse is that I did better on stuff when I did it at the last moment as opposed to doing it early. This includes studying for tests...spend a whole week studying for it? Easy D. Wait until the last few days? B. Oh yea I also procrastinate by driving around. It's a rather calming experience (When I'm not dealing with awful drivers) so I tend to do it a lot and waste time too.

Heh, what don't I do to procrastinate? Just this past weekend I was playing (Drunken) Dungeons and Dragons. What was supposed to be a quickie 15 battle turned into 2 and a half hour long epic. Jager is fun.

DD&D, huh? Sounds interesting :3

When I have things I need to be doing, I draw. When I have drawings I need to be doing, I'm making jewelry. When I have jewelry to make, I'm probably RPing or something. And if I'm not RPing, I'll be doing something actually important. 😀

Happy Las Vegas wedding Jin!

Actually driving around wouldn't be a bad thing if there was anything to see other than corn and gas wouldn't be so expensive. I also agree that studying for days on end is a waste of time. I did great on my presentation this morning and I finished it around 3-4 am? Yeah, procrastination power!

I pass on the Jager but would be interested in seeing Drunken D&D... It would be very interesting indeed. Tricia, I love the chain of procrastination and the ranking.

It would've been better if you also said "I'll get back to it later."

As with Trish, I'll generally pick up just about any other activity other than what I was meant to be doing. It's not that there's not enough lying around for me to do, so much as pointing myself in the right direction and staying with it.

I'll agree with Jin on one thing, though - my room in college was never cleaner than during deadline time...
