This is basically like Craig's old topic before, but for Live Albums instead of Studio albums (Essentially, bands that are epic live will thrive in this thread lol).

Of course, being the huge metalhead I am (Iron Maiden specifically, Big Shock I know >.> ), 2 live albums that come to mind are the Platinum Selling "Live After Death" (1985) and of course Rock in Rio (2001)

I personally prefer RiR for the insane levels of energy the band displays in that performance, but their classic 80's material displayed in LA for LaD cannot be overlooked either. I'll get to them sometime later.... in the meantime you guys are free to post yours. Just make sure to say why they are good, basically have to enjoy every song.

Muse are one of those bands who are better live than they are studio. I'm afraid I don't own any of their live albums or even know of any but I'm just stating that out there. Live, Muse are absolutely jaw-dropping.

I am not a particularly big fan of Rush or anything but that Rush in Rio album is pretty damn good. The audience sings along and everything. There is such an awesome atmosphere that you can feel listening to it.

That's my 2 pence

I must agree on Muse. From what I remember, Haarp is incredible. I own very few live albums from bands, but I also quite enjoy Dream Theater's Score (an orchestra and LaBrie singing at almost perfect level) and Kansas' Two For The Show.

John Mayer and Dave Matthews both know how to make a live album. As for bands that are good live but don't have live albums, White Stripes and Modest Mouse have some pretty great live shows.

Ozric Tentacles have some insanely epic live albums, like Live Underslunky, Live At The Pongmaster's Ball and Live Ethereal Cereal. They're equally as incredible live as they are recording in a studio. <3

lol, I never was a huge Rush fan either (They're starting to grow on me though, strangely enough. Oh well, wouldn't be the first time that I didn't like a band at first listen but after giving some time I like them XD) but I saw some Rush in Rio vids on youtube and the crowd was going nuts lolz

However, time for me to post why I think they are great live albums.

Live After Death - Iron Maiden

1. Churchill's Speech

Um, this doesn't need to be explained, its basically an intro for their opening song, but it fits perfectly! (Given that the song is about the Battle of Britain and all)

2. Aces High

As mentioned before, it begins with the infamous speech by good ol' Winston. As I mentioned this same song in Craig's topic before, its starts off with the speech:

"... We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender ..."

I hope that sounds familiar to you guys, otherwise you really need to brush up on your history >=C
Since the song is about the battle of britain (More specifically the point of view of one RAF pilot during it) it fits perfectly! I'm not great with musical terminology, but um, the guitar, bass, drums all sound nice. >_>

3. 2 Minutes To Midnight

Ah, another staple from the powerslave album
In case the title of the song makes no sense to you, its about the Cold War (The title refers to the Doomsday Clock, the closest it ever got to Midnight (Which would be nuclear holocaust essentially) was 11:58. 2 Minutes To Midnight.). The song starts with one of my favorite Maiden riffs ever and then heads into the opening verse which basically describes how war-hungry politicians will do anything to meet their goals. The middle solo and the guitar duets are a nice touch. One of my personal Maiden fav's as well.

4. The Trooper

Not one of my favorites (Doesn't mean I don't love this song though), The Trooper is possibly their most recognizable song which uses the traditional "Gallop" style that Iron Maiden is well known for. For those that don't know, the song is based off the Poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade" by Lord Alfred Tennyson which in turn was based on a battle from the Crimean War. 😛
Who says metal bands don't read? Not me!

Despite the fact that this is overplayed to death at times (Probably my only problem with the song lol), the solo in the middle is awesome! I think the rest of the song speaks for itself. (Except for the "OOOOOH OOOOH OOOOH OH" part XD)

5. Revelations

An extremely underrated song by Maiden, the song is fairly complex in its overall meaning (There are obvious Crowley influences in this song). I'm not exactly one who knows a whole lot in this area, unless you count me looking things up on wikipedia XD

Maybe someone who knows this kindof stuff can tell me? Lyrics if you want...

O God of earth and altar
Bow down and hear our cry
Our earthly rulers falter
Our peolple drift and die
The walls of gold entombe us
The swords of scorn divide
Take not thy thunder from us
But take away our pride

Just a babe in a black abyss
No reason for a place like this
The walls are cold and souls cry out in pain
An easy way for the blind to go
A clever path for the fools who know
The secret of the hanged man - the smile on his lips

The light of the blind youll see
The venom that tears my spine
The eyes of the nile are opening - you'll see

She came to me with a serpents kiss
As the eye of the sun rose on her lips
Moonlight catches silver tears I cry
So we lay in a black embrace
And the seed is sown in a holy place
And I watched and I waited for the dawn

The light of the blind you'll see
The venom that tears my spine
The eyes of the nile are opening - you'll see

Bind all of us together
Ablaze of hope and free
No storm or heavy weather
Will rock the boat you'll see
The time has come to close your eyes
And still the wind and rain
For the one who will be king
The watcher in the ring
It is you

I mean, I know the Serpent's kiss part is most likely a Crowley reference (Wasn't that one of his major themes? I should probably read some of his books...), but the song's slow pace is a departure from their usual style, but that's not a bad thing. Also, their singer plays a rythm guitar for a portion in this song where he normally doesn't. Oh well, the slow pacing is great.

6. Flight of Icarus

This song is loosely based off of the Greek Myth of Icarus. It was changed slightly to represent teenage rebellion against authority or whatnot. The starts with an incredible riff (What Maiden song doesn't? :P) and goes on and on (Not good with musical terms, have to excuse me x.x) and goes through one of my favorite chorus' ever (FLY ON YOUR WAY... LIKE AN EAGLE/FLY... TOUCH THE SUN!) and goes through what could possibly be my favorite Iron Maiden solo. Ever. Dunno who did it... but damn is that an emotional solo.

7. Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Part 1)
Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Part 2)

The above song has to be split into two vids because the song is like 13 minutes long (13:38 is the official length, I think) and youtube only allows up to 10 minutes.

Anyway, back to the song, the title should be familar to most of you, considering the poem is taught in many schools (Or it was in mine rather ._.). Maiden's longest song to date and one of their more complex compisitions with several rythm changes throughout (Even a bass solo in the middle). Lyrically, the song follows the tale of the Mariner, but drops the archaic language that the original poem uses and is a modern retelling essentially. I think they did a great job with it, good enough that my own Lit. teacher played it in class for us when we were learning the poem 😛

I also love how the tempo of the song seems to reflect the tone of the poem at that moment (The part where the Mariner is cursed is very bass-heavy and gives the impression something bad is happening....). Then, later on throughout, the song goes up to the part where the albatross falls off his neck and it starts to rain and then Bruce just shrieks out "And there in falls the RAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!" And then the band just explodes from that point on up until the end of the song.

Awesome

8. Powerslave

With Mariner done, they head onto the title track of their most recent album (Up to that point that is), Powerslave. The song is one of my favorites as well. The song starts with an almost ominous opening, but begins with an obvious egyption theme (The song is about an egyption pharoh who's abused his powers but knows he's going to die soon but wishes to keep living on as a god forever, but death will eventually claim him. Interstingly enough, its believed that the song is an allegory to their distaste of the music industry. Food for thought :P). The slow solo in the later sections of the song is interesting, a nice change of pace from the aggressive tone that it sets early on (Maybe it represents how he's going to die and looking back at his last thoughts?). Overall, awesome song.

9. The Number of The Beast

Even though The Trooper is possibly their most mainstream song, this is the one that probably got them into the limelight in the first place (And for the wrong reasons :S). Many claim the song is evidence that they are Satanists (When in reality, the song is about a bad dream, just read the lyrics. The first couple of verses even indicate its a dream!).

The song starts with the lines from Revelations (I think that's where its from, don't quote me). Then the first few verses come in and then Bruce lets out the famous scream (Though not quite what he did in the studio, but not many people can do a scream for 15 seconds....). Strangely enough, the song has a rather upbeat tone for a song that is claimed to be "Evil" and "Satanic". Perhaps that's to show that its a dream as well? Oh well. Great song.

10. Hallowed Be Thy Name

My all time favorite Iron Maiden song

Easily one of their most powerful and emotional songs, the song depicts a man who is to be hung at the gallows and his last thoughts before finally passing on. It starts with a VERY eerie opening (Giving the impression * is gonna go down!) and then just EXPLODES into the song's main riff. The song also show's Bruce vocal range using both long and quick notes (Um... think that's the way to say it... >< ). The man tries to convince himself that he's not afraid of death, but as the lyrics show, he's quite literally shaking in his boots.

Somebody please tell me that I'm dreaming
Its not so easy to stop from screaming
But words escape me when I try to speak
Tears they flow but why am I crying
After all I am not afraid of dying
Dont believe that there is never an end

As the guards march me out to the courtyard
Someone calls from a cell "God be with you"
If theres a God then why has he let me go?

As I walk all my life drifts before me
And though the end is near I'm not sorry
Catch my soul cos its willing to fly away

There's more to it, but damn that emotional. And not to mention after the lyrics end there's a long instrumental section with a part that just sends CHILLS down your mother*ing spine. And it goes on until that same part comes up again and Bruce chanting the song's final ominious words "Hallowed Be Thy Name". Deep **** man.

11. Iron Maiden

Yes, they named a song after themselves, what's wrong with that? 😛
Unlike the previous song before, it isn't necessarily deep, but its really fun to listen to. Its a song from their first album (Before Bruce and Nicko joined the band and all), but doesn't detract them from playing to their best. Its just an anthem saying they'll kick ass 😛

12. Run to the Hills

Just a few more songs before this concert is over, but another fan favorite of theirs. The song is known for using their traditional gallop (This song more so than others). Its typically used as a closer in most cases, but in this concert there are 2 more after this. But eh, w/e. Anyway, the song is about sending the Native Americans out of their lands (Trail of Tears basically). Who knew metal bands could give history lessons while still sounding awesome? XD

The solo and constant dream beat makes this a treat, even if there are much better Maiden songs out there.

13. Running Free

Another song before Bruce joined the band (Most singer's won't sing other singer's songs, so consider him a gentleman ). Song is good, the fact that its live makes it better. In their early days they had more of a typical rocker style lyrical nature, which is evident here (Later on they turned to war/history/literature as their main lyrical nature).

The song is about a troubled 16-year-old boy who runs away on a pick up truck, ends up in a Los Angeles jail and picks up a woman from a bar. The song is known to be one of the band's more traditional rock numbers and is still played at Maiden gigs today with the band members individually named by the lead singer during the long bass-solo.

Overall, an enjoyable song. I prefer their later material, but still not bad. But this song showcases just what a great frontman Bruce Dickinson is

14. Sanctuary

And now the closing number for the concert, Sanctuary is merely about getting away from the cops (The cover for the single had their mascot Eddie murdering then Prime Minister Margeret Thatcher (According to wiki, her nickname was the Iron Lady. They are Iron Maiden. Get it?). The drum beat and the guitar playing is cool, but Bruce's antics make the song worth it in the end. And so ends a great concert

I mean, I know the Serpent's kiss part is most likely a Crowley reference (Wasn't that one of his major themes? I should probably read some of his books...)

Never heard that song, but it's definitely an Aleister Crowley reference. He filed two of his teeth into a point, so he could give women the "Serpent's Kiss" when introduced to them.

Ha! That's cool that a metal band knows things like that when mainstream media portrays metal bands as random headbanging and screaming 😛

Okay, hope mods don't mind me double posting.

Rock in Rio is an amazing performance (Unfortuantely I've only seen it on videos.... I would have LOVED to have seen it in person). I consider it their best live album ever if for nothing more than the INSANE levels of energy the band exhibits

Track Number One - The Wicker Man

Man, great selection for an opening number!
You can clearly see it with the dramatic opening and then the band just WHAM hits the stage with Adrian hitting a wtf riff and the rest of the band just exploding onto the stage and then Bruce jumps in and starts singing and its just OMGWTFAWESOME. Then the chorus comes in ("YOUR TIME WILL COME/YOUR TIME WILL COME/YOUR TIME WILL COME!") and the whole band is jumping up and down and the entire crowd is doing the same (250,000 people mind you, IM is pretty big down in South America o.o).

The lyrics as a whole are fairly cheesy (But in a good way. Sometimes you just need cheese, you know?) but are kinda loosely based on the British Film "The Wicker Man" (Loosely, the only thing linking it to the movie is the final line before the final chorus "Brothers and their fathers holding hands to make a chain/The shadow of the wicker man is rising once again"). Overall... JUST *ING AWESOME MAN!

Track Number Two - Ghost of The Navigator

After the great opening number, they go to another track which seems to be about someone going on his way to death but still has various obstacles before he can actually rest peacefully, using sea as a metaphor and all that jazz.

I have sailed to many lands, now I make my final journey
On the bow I stand, west is where I go
Through the night I plough, still my heart, calculate and pray
As the compass swings, my will is strong, I will not be led astray
Mysteries of time clouds that hide the sun
But I know, but I know, but I know

I see the ghosts of navigators but they are lost
As they sail into the sunset they'll count the cost
As their skeletons accusing emerge from the sea
The sirens of the rocks, they beckon me

Take my heart and set it free, carried forward by the waves
Nowhere left to run, navigators son,
Chasing rainbows all my days

Where I go I do not know, I only know the place I've been
Dreams they come and go, ever shall be so,
Nothings real until you feel

I steer between the crashing rocks, the sirens call my name
Lash my hands onto the helm, blood surging with the strain
I will not fail now as sunrise comes the darkness left behind
For eternity I follow on there is no other way
Mysteries of time clouds that hide the sun
But I know, I know

I see the ghosts of navigators but they are lost
As they sail into the sunset they'll count the cost
As their skeletons accusing emerge from the sea
The sirens of the rocks, they beckon me

Take my heart and set it free, carried forward by the waves
Nowhere left to run, navigators son
Chasing rainbows all my days

Where I go I do not know, I only know the place I've been
Dreams they come and go, ever shall be so
Nothings real until you feel

I see the ghosts of navigators but they are lost
As they sail into the sunset theyll count the cost
As their skeletons accusing emerge from the sea
The sirens of the rocks, they beckon me

Take my heart and set it free, carried forward by the waves
Nowhere left to run, navigators son
Chasing rainbows all my days

Where I go I do not know, I only know the place Ive been
Dreams they come and go, ever shall be so
Nothings real until you feel

Love the lyrics, which are surprisingly deep compared to their opening headbanger number (Its why I love them though. They can do serious material while not taking themselves too seriously that they can't do a fun, headbanging type of song

Starts out with a peaceful clean guitar opening but then proceeds into a MUCH heavier riff afterwards and pretty much stays heavy throughout. Don't know quite what to say other than its a very entertaining song and you really get a sense of desperation throughout (But since its about a dude who's trying to get on the path to death in a peaceful manner, that's to be expected). Has a "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" feel to it, if you ask me.

Track Number Three - Brave New World

Yes, if you were wondering, the title track is a reference to the dystopian novel of the same name by Huxely. In the beginning, the song starts off very slow and begins with the opening verse delivered in an almost sad fashion:

Dying swans twisted wings, beauty not needed here
Lost my love, lost my life, in this garden of fear
I have seen many things, in a lifetime alone
Mother love is no more, bring this savage back home

And then WHAM the song goes unto full guitar distortion as the lyrics continue:

Wilderness house of pain, makes no sense of it all
Close this mind dull this brain, messiah before his fall
What you see is not real, those who know will not tell
All is lost sold your souls to this brave new world

A brave new world, in a brave new world
A brave new world, in a brave new world
In a brave new world, a brave new world
In a brave new world, a brave new world

After the chorus, the crowd is still into it (They are fore the whole concert but that's besides the point :P) and the song does a great job of portraying the sense of emotion that I felt when reading through the novel myself. Very slow like the introduction but picks up pace quickly and doesn't stop hitting hard until the very end when you know its finally over.

Dragon kings dying queens, where is salvation now
Lost my life lost my dreams, rip the bones from my flesh
Silent screams laughing here, dying to tell you the truth
You are planned and you are damned in this brave new world

A brave new world, in a brave new world
A brave new world, in a brave new world
In a brave new world, a brave new world
In a brave new world, a brave new world

A brave new world, in a brave new world
A brave new world, in a brave new world
In a brave new world, a brave new world
In a brave new world, a brave new world

Dying swans twisted wings, bring this savage back home

As I recall, there were no dying swans in the novel, but its likely to be used to represent the unnecessity of beauty that is shown throughout BNW and has been shattered, and "Savage" could possibly be referring to John or Bernard (Maybe both? Who knows? o.o). Just a great job and the solo in the middle definately keeps the song going well.

Track Number Four - Wrathchild

One of their more common concert numbers from their 2nd album (This is before their current singer joined and he still sings this song and with tons of energy! Most would be like "I ain't singing someone else's song!" But he does so anyway!)

Unlike the last 2 tracks, this one is one of the more headbanger types (As I said before, that's not a bad thing ). The song starts with a cool Bass solo by Harris and then the lyrics start as soon as Bruce jumps right off a platform to start singing (Literally! XD). Then the guitar riff comes in and the crowd is going nuts and.... its just awesome! A really fun number to listen to and all!

Track Number Five - Two Minutes To Midnight

A classic live number, seen on virtually every concert since the song's inception from their 1984 Powerslave album. Although the song appears to be another headbanging type, there is a deeper meaning within the lyrics as the song details some of the emotions felt during the cold war (The title is a reference to the Doomsday Clock; the closest it ever got to midnight (Which would be nuclear holocaust btw) was 11:58. Two Minutes To Midnight. Also, the studio version is 5:59 in length, double that and you have 11:58 :P).

Lyrics if you wants to read

To Kill for gain or shoot to maim
But we dont need a reason
The golden goose is on the loose
And never out of season
Some blackened pride still burns inside
This shell of bloody treason
Heres my gun for a barrel of fun
For the love of living death.

Chorus
The killers breed or the demons seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedoms stain,
But don't you pray for my soul anymore.
2 minutes to midnight
The hands that threaten doom.
2 minutes to midnight
To kill the unborn in the womb.

The blind men shout let the creatures out
Well show the unbelievers
The napalm screams of human flames
Of a prime time belsen feast...yeah!
As the reasons for the carnage cut their meat and lick the gravy,
We oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies.

Chorus

The body bags and little rags of children torn in two
And the jellied brains of those who remain to put the finger right on you.
As the madmen play on words and make us all dance to their song,
To the tune of starving millions to make a better kind of gun.

Chorus

Midnight...all night...

It starts off with an awesome kickass riff (And you can just see the band's energy floating around everywhere!) and just keeps kicking ass the wholeway! Easily one of their most political songs (Until "Afraid to Shoot Strangers" from their Fear of the Dark album, but that isn't played here so that's for another time). which details the position of corrupt politicians who are simply war-hungry and view the people as nothing more than pawns for their own gain. Although the lyrics can be a bit gory for some of you, they detail the circumstances of war-torn countries very effectively. The song ends with the haunting "Midnight... all night..." which shows that should we ever hit midnight on the clock... well.... it will be dark.... VERY dark...

Track Number Six - Blood Brothers

Easily one of Maiden's more emotionally driven tracks, it describes the state of the world in a very pessimsitic fashion but hopes that an optimistic future can be reached, but still remains negative due to the ongoing conflicts of senseless war going on in the world. It even makes the point that in a sense, we are all brothers and wonders why in the world war is necessary at all. The song starts off very slow and has some very beautiful melodiac clean guitar sections that seem to contridict the negative nature of the lyrics.

And if you're taking a walk through the garden of life
What do you think you'd expect you would see?
Just like a mirror reflecting the moves of your life
And in the river reflections of me

Just for a second a glimpse of my father I see
And in a movement he beckons to me
And in a moment the memories are all that remain
And all the wounds are reopening again

We're blood brothers, we're blood brothers
We're blood brothers, we're blood brothers

And as you look all around at the world in dismay
What do you see, do you think we have learned
Not if you're taking a look at the war-torn affray
Out in the streets where the babies are burned!

We're blood brothers, we're blood brothers
We're blood brothers, we're blood brothers

There are time when I feel I'm afraid for the world
There are times I'm ashamed of us all
When you're floating on all the emotion you feel
And reflecting the good and the bad

Will we ever know what the answer to life really is?
Can you really tell me what life is?
Maybe all the things that you know that are precious to you
Could be swept away by fate's own hand

We're blood brothers, we're blood brothers
We're blood brothers, we're blood brothers

When you think that we've used all our chances
And the chance to make everything right
Keep on making the same old mistakes
Makes untipping the balance so easy
When we're living our lives on the edge
Say a prayer on the book of the dead

We're blood brothers, we're blood brothers
We're blood brothers, we're blood brothers

And if you're taking a walk through the garden of life....

Extremely powerful stuff. Especially the part where Bruce sings the final verse "When you think that we've used up all our chances and the chance to make everything right/Keep on making the same old mistakes/Makes untipping the balance so easy/When we're living our lives on the edge/Say a prayer on the book of the dead" he just delievers them so powerfully and then the Gers rythm sections comes in (I think its a rythm section... don't sue me if I'm wrong >.>) and holy *. Just so emotinonally powerful, it could have been an instrumental and have been amazing still.

And that's not all! When the band began on the tour supporting the album the song was on, Steve Harris' (Dude who wrote the song) father died while on tour and the song has been honored to him. Just wow, I've actually cried listening to this song before, it touches my soul that much, and this is coming from a metalhead! m/

And then the final line comes in "And if you're taking a walk through the garden of life...." to end the song in chilling fashion. I would put this in (or close to) my top five Iron Maiden songs ever.

Track Number Seven - Sign of The Cross

This song is one of my favorites and iirc, Maiden's second longest epic (Like 11 something minutes or so, only Mariner is longer I think). From my perspective, it seems to be about the Spanish Inquisition (The lyrics seem to suggest this, and the ominous chanting in the beginning and the overall dark feel of the song seem to indicate its not a happy one). Also, the chorus includes the line "The name of the rose" and I know there's a movie of the same name and the lyrics seem to fit it, so maybe its based off of it? Maybe. o.o

The song starts with the omonious gregorian chants and then goes into a long drum beat that only serves to set up tension for the upcoming verses where the guitars completely explode! Once the verses end for a bit, the song goes into a VERY long instrumental section (I think its like 5-6 min. long or so, I don't know lolz). At the height of the instrumental section is the very entertaining drum beat kept by Nicko the whole time along with the guitars still going, slowly getting tenser, building up the anticipation for what is to come and then WHAM Nicko hits all with a WTFOMGAWESOMESAUCE Drum solo that just makes my jaw drop and Maiden doesn't stop there! No! Then we have not one, but TWO WTFOMG solos from Dave Murray and Janick Gers one after the other that last for a whole minute! Some people can only take so much awesomeness here! Then the song calms down up until the final chorus and verse "The Sign of the cross/The name of the rose.../A fire in the sky/The Sign of the Croooooooos/ Lost the love of heaven above/ Chose the lust of the earth below/Eleven Saintly Shrouded Men/Come to wash my sins away"

One of my all time Maiden faves, and I'm not even religous! XD

Eleven saintly shrouded men
Silhouettes stand against the sky
One in front with a cross held high
Come to wash my sins away

Standing alone in the wind and rain
Feeling the fear that is growing
Sensing the change in the tide again
Caught by the storm that is brewing
Feel the anxiety hold off the fear
Some of the doubt in the things you believe
Now that your faith will be put to the test
Nothing to do but await what is coming

Why then is god still protecting me?
Even when I don't deserve it
Though I am blessed with an inner strength
Some they would call it a penance
Why am I meant to face this alone?
Asking the question time and again
Praying to God won't keep me alive
Inside my head feel the fear start to rise...

They'll be saying their prayers
when the moment comes
There'll be penance to pay when it's judgement day
And the guilty'll bleed when the moment comes
They'll be coming to claim,
take your soul away

The sign of the cross
The name of the rose...
a fire in the sky
The sign of the cross

They'll be coming to bring the eternal flame
They'll be bringing us all immortality
Holding communion so the world be blessed
My creator my God'll lay my soul to rest

The sign of the cross
The name of the rose...
a fire in the sky
The sign of the cross

The sign of the cross
The name of the rose...
a fire in the sky
The sign of the cross
The name of the rose...
The sign of the cross

Lost the love of heaven above
Chose the lust of the earth below
Eleven saintly shrouded men
Came to wash my sins away

Note: Getting on/off comp during various times, will edit later. Not finished, concert has like 18 songs o.o

I typically don't listen to live albums. I'm always a fan of a live show. But just catching a performance on audio doesn't really capture the feel. I own a few live DVDs of some of my favorite bands. But nothing beats actually being there. Only live album I can listen to is this one I have by Radiohead. They did a piano version of an electronic song they had called, "Like Spinning Plates," and it's worth it for that track alone. Very different from the recorded version, and much better in my opinion.

But yeah, other than that, other than for fanboyism collecting purposes, I don't typically waste my time on live albums.
