They make a lot of things out of goat milk already...I THINK if you look in like a nutrition store you might be able to find goat ice cream. I wish PEtA would just get shut down.

Breast milk? Are they nuts? Think of how the prices will increase for that ice cream. It's not fair for lactating mothers either but if they get compensated for their efforts... it's still not the same.

They'll have to spend more money on screening the breast milk for viruses and other pathogens. Not to mention all the IgA antibodies that will be passed.

I second the motion of telling PETA to go take a hike.

Hmmmm... If this goes through, I'd like to personally volunteer to supervise the production area...

But seriously, no thanks. Kinda reminds me of that scene from Borat with the cheese... ew, just ewwwwwwwwwwwww

Just... what?

If it's inhumane against animals, then why shouldn't it be the same for us?

Do they even think their crazy schemes through? Those crazy kids!

Damnit Hiro I was going to make a joke along those lines. >=(

Oh PETA, what will you think of next?

Seriously though, what Spiner said. Health/taste factors aside (wtf PETA? milk is bad for you? since when?), compensated volunteers might work fine for one restaurant in Switzerland, but they simply can't produce milk cheaply enough or in sufficient quantity to meet a company like Ben & Jerry's needs. To get enough milk they'd have to start forcefully impregnating women every nine months to keep 'em lactating. I think a few more people and organisations than just PETA would have something to say about that...

After reading this and considering the fact that PETA is trying to start a lawsuit against the college I attend, if I ever meet anyone involved with PETA, it will take all of my willpower to prevent myself from beating them.

I might end up punching on just for principle. But you know how stubborn they are. Still, it'd be a good stress relief, if nothing else.

I vote they should use their own, since they're the ones making such a big fuss over the whole thing.

BLASPHEMY! How dare you sully her good looks.

I challenge you to a duel... Tomorrow because I'm tired.

But back to the topic at hand, if Ben & Jerry's were to actually go through other milk alternatives what would be the costs (And I don't just mean financially but also health wise).

Then again, a better question would be if PETA would actually start using Ben & Jerry's, not that I doubt that they already do! XP

They don't have to be preggers each year to lactate, most women could easily keep on like that for years after their first child. haven't you seen those TV programmes about women who still breast-feed their 8 year-old kids and older? o.o *this random peice of trivia was brought to you all by the powers of tv!*

I think what they meant is that pregnant women and women that just gave birth lactate more, not that they're the only ones who do.

At least, that sounds more accurate.
