For anyone who hasn't spotted the change of signature and the sudden lack of any sort of ID badges: as of midnight last Friday, I've no longer been a staff member of this forum.
A couple of other staff members left at the same time as I did, but I'll leave it to them as to whether they want to make themselves obvious. I'd really, really like to explain the whos, whys and whats of what finally made me facepalm, throw my hands in the air and give up after over ten years, but I'd be breaking rules if I said exactly what I thought of the situation. Anyone who really, really wants to know can contact me privately.
I headed off to a weekend-long LARP event on Friday afternoon and decided to let it lie whilst I cooled off (although I actually felt better about the forum once I got out of that situation that I have in a long time), but for one, I thought that I needed to keep you guys informed (I like you - I owe you that much), and for another, I don't feel as though I've done anything which means I should be slinking out with my tail between my legs.
The primary reason for making this post is because I know that a lot of people like to contact me if there's a job that needs doing or they have any concerns they want raising, and insofar as the concerns of anyone who isn't in a very select clique've been listened to for a long while anyway, I've now made the fact that - due to my position outside of said clique - I have no influence whatsoever official, and formally resigned.
Again, I'm not trying to start anything by saying that - if you want to know what it means, take it to me off the board. But whilst you'll still be seeing me around, I'll just be acting as one of you guys now.
I'm happy you're not leaving completely.
