A 30 minute movie by the Whedons(you know know one of them, Joss--creator of Buffy, Angel and Firefly), it stars Neil Patrick Harris as an upcoming evil scientist, and it is a musical!
You won't regret it! Watch it quick before it disappear!
I saw the link from Three Panel Soul and watched the first act but didn't realise the other two were online. 'Twas bloody awesome, just saw it through to the end.
Edit: Oh just looked at the plan page. Apparently they weren't up at the time! Hooray that makes me feel less stupid
Brilliant. What a take on heroes and villains. You really empathized with Dr. Horrible, and Hammer was such a tool.
It's Barney Stinson! And he's funny as always!
YAY!
Any thoughts on the ambiguity of the ending? I'm not really sure what to think yet (just finished watching III about ten seconds ago)
Got in just in time. I laughed, I cried, I made egg salad. I wish more creative gurus along the lines of Joss Whedon would bring stuuf to the Web of this quality.
Any thoughts on the ambiguity of the ending?
It's like, half of him gained everything he'd ever wanted and half of him lost it all. Doctor Horrible is living the good (bad) life and had accomplished his dreams, but Billy is empty and alone.
Also I f**king swear to God I didn't notice the pun in my last post here when I wrote it.
It used to be that "Doctor Horrible" was the persona of his weblog but in the end he's sitting in front of his computer blogging as "Billy." Very interesting. He used to want to be the villain, but now that he's the villain he wants to be Billy again. At the recent Comic Con panel, I think it was Nathan Fillion that said that Doctor Horrible got everything while Billy lost everything.
And speaking of SDCC, Joss officially announced that there will be more. Awesome.
More Dr. Horrible? Incidentally, you can get the whole thing for 4 bucks on iTunes. There's also a link to a Captain Hammer minicomic on the main page. Read it, it's good for a laugh.
I'm waiting out for the DVD release. As great as it was I don't much like iTunes and would rather wait to get it in disk format.
Good plan. The DVD extras are going to be phenomenal. The audio commentary is going to be its own, original musical with new songs.
EDIT: Free viewing is back!
