I say we should combine them to make
KWANZHAUNNMAS!
But seriously, THAT is the dumbest thing I've ever hear feminists say.
"Yes it is. Asking people to be inclusive is not a war on Christmas."
Inclusive? Seems more like excluding people who want to celebrate Christmas the same way they did when they were kids. Y'know, with the Ho Ho Ho, and the jolly white guy in the suit, and the family beatings, and the "Merry Christmas"es at random Jewish people on the street...
There is nothing inclusive about banning traditional phrases and well-wishes.
No-one has banned anything. Vague phrases like "Happy Holidays" are naturally more inclusive because they are vague.
Wasn't the original point of the thread how these malls were asking Santas not to say "Ho Ho Ho!"? o.o
It's an inclusive and exclusive thing at the same time. Excluding references to specific holidays includes more people when you yell at them with a bell.
Also, nothing is banned because the Santas were only suggested at. I think it would only be exclusive in the way you were suggesting if they killed the disagreeing santas or fired them.
When I saw this earlier on in the thread I almost suffocated from laughter.

Whilst I know that there're more determined elements of the left that do exactly the same thing in reverse, it's amazing how the more right-leaning press can seize any sort of vague suggestion and wave it around as some sort of 11th commandment from the mystical "PC Brigade"?
It's mazing how many pages in newspapers get filled with non-stories where something's either been blown out of proportion or the headline bears only limited resemblance to the story.
