I've been using SmartFTP but the !@#$ hs an "expiration" popup that makes you reinstall every few days anmd most of the time it won't even start.
i haven't had to use an ftp client in a long time, but i second fireftp. if you don't want to use a firefox addon, ws_ftp worked nicely for me before i switched.
I've not used a FTP client since I've left this place, but when I did, ws_ftp 95 LE did the job well. When you install it, it'll ask what purpose you're using it for and won't continue if you choose the wrong option, but all you have to do is keep running it until you select the right option.
I love SmartFTP. However, I've been using v1.0.9 since like... 2002. So it has a popup of "OH HEY, YOUR VERSION IS OLD", but it's not an expiration thing. So woot.
I use FireFTP. For a long time I used WS_FTP, but Norton didn't like the traffic and attempted to block it all. FireFTP hasn't given me that issue yet...
