Yup, today is A-level results day here in the British Isles. Well, England anyway.
I guess this topic is this years results sharing thread, not just A-levels though. I know GCSE results is next week so we can use this thread for that as well. Or you can just congratulate people or something. If you don't want to say specific grades you can just say how you feel about your results.
And if you're in America or somewhere that has already got results you can share them again anyway, nothing stopping you.
I'll edit this once I've received my grades.
[edit] B in Art AS, C in Bio A2, and E in ICT AS and Chem A2. I need to retake some of my ICT ._.
But I passed Chemistry! I so wasn't expecting that.
nuch will be so displeased you didn't use his thread
ps i'll have my maths result later
Later
Ok, just to explain, with the highest maths set in my (old) school, they pushed the group to complete the GCSE course by the end of year 10, and then do 2 AS modules in year 11. However, the school decided to make us retake the GCSE exams halfway through year 11 since the average marks for the class were lower than those for the previous year, so by the end of year 11, we only completed the one AS module, C1.
And now I have my results (and my mate's but that's not really relevant), and I got 95% on it 😯
which i'm fairly sure equates to an A
GCSE results in one week's time!
B in Psychology, B in Geography and a C in History.
Which is absolute bollocks. Either I got taught wrong for History, or the examiners f**ked up. :">
EDIT: Oh and I got an A in General Studies AS but lol who gives a crap about General Studies
my youngest sister got her results today too for her A levels. ^.^ shan't post her grades here without her permission, but she passed everything and is now set to go to university! really pleased for her. ^^
and congrats to the rest of you! i only just scraped through my a level, failing the other that i took. >>;

After a two-year hiatus from any sort of education (other than surfing Wikipedia) I finally start my bachelor's in computer science at Simon Fraser University this fall. I only have three courses this semester, and none of them have anything to do with my major. This means I'll actually be going to school in a building that isn't a beige cement box, and four day weekends -- things I have dreamed of since I was five.
I'm actually excited to go back to school. It's creepy as hell.
Delayed bumping GCSE results which I don't expect any replies to and am only posting due to being egged on by Susan!
So I mentioned I did the Maths early in the last post but failed to mention the actual grade. A*~
As for this years results:
A* RE (Short Course - I did another last year which was an A)
A ICT
A German
A Biology
A Chemistry
A* Physics
A* Business
A English Language
A English Literature
I don't have the list in front of me but i think that's it
Quote:
A in Aikido
wow, you can study martial arts at your school/collage? o.o; *wonders how they mark that, other then going up the normal belt grades*
My alma matter offered Tae Kwon Do among other sports.
as far as i know, at my uni it's only offered as an evening class and as an extra. you don't get grades for it. oo luckiee~
I would goto a college if they offered Aikido.
There was one teacher around here, friend of my aunts who helped with the class. But he retired.
My particular college has an Aikido club on campus (which students can go to for a semester as a P.E. course), and their only requirement is that you pay 10$ a month. That's it. Two classes a week for about an hour and 45 minutes.
The 'final exam' was the 6th-kyu test Becca. Progress was determined by the sensei.
i see, so that's how it works. ^^
i think my grades would be pretty slow. it's taken me two years to get to the green belt.
i pay 20 a year for a student's sports card and then everything on campus is free. (apart from the outfits,personal weapons, etc) we get two lessons for 2 hours each. a special weapons class in birmingham on a friday costs extra and we have to join the aikido fellowship to grade as well as practise there. ^^;
do you have to pay extra for your grading exams?
