So, I've been taking dance classes since June and just got told today I could join the dance troupe. Yeah, freaking cool and the classes are just awesome! I hope I can remember all the choreography and improve on my moves. Trust me bellydance is not as easy as it seems! I'm doing Tribal and Cabaret style-classes but the troupe is mostly Tribal Fusion.

I need help choosing a stage name. I mean we have Isis, Shakti and I'm not sure of the others. But I would like something cool that flows.

All ideas are welcome

Oh yeah, pretty please... help?

^ I think she meant there's already a Shakti?

Continuing with the Goddess theme... either Alcyone or Circe.

If there's already a Shakti, then stick with Kali (once again continuing with the goddess theme).

Yup Shakti and Isis are taken and so is Sauda.

Thanks for all your ideas

I'm liking Freyja, Circe and Kali. I'll post my name as soon as I decide and get it instructor (and boyfriend) approved.

In the effort to not make a new thread about this, I am reviving this one instead.

After much deliberation I finally choose a stage name for my belly dancing gigs. My colors are red, turquoise and purple to be combined with black for my outfits.

कला नैज Kala Naija
Kala means art and Naija is daughter of wisdom. Both are Hindi and I had a hard time choosing until Della (my instructor's instructor) told me using one as a last name is allowed.

Sadly I will be in the land Down Under at the same time I'm supposed to dance with the other ladies. Sad day but holding baby Koalas and Wombats totally makes up for it

कला नैज is a very beautiful name. Congratulations. Hope you enjoy your time in Australia too.
