there's lots of heart balloons, heart cards and heart shaped muffins around, you know what that means.

Valentine's Day!
here's a reminder of that special day,

oh and you know what guys cause my dad isnt romantic at all and probably doesnt know what valentine's day is XD i always give my mom gifts on this day. this time i made her this cute calender that i made with pics of roses and cute colors and printed in glossy A3 paper XD she really wanted a pink calender but couldnt find one she liked, so this gift would make her happy all year long.

i dont mind anyone else using it   here it is, dont you think its cute XD

please share your thoughts on this day <hugs everyone> waaaaaaaa

What Ramza said. I usually[all but one time in my entire life] celebrate Single's Awareness Day. Not to mention i'm quirkyalone. But to all of those out there with someone special. Congrats and I hope your Valentine's Day is great.

For 18 years now I have had the distinct "pleasure" of not having someone to share Valentine's Day with. Of course I'm a glass half full kind of guy so I like to think about all the money I save while I sit alone and cry in my bathtub.

What the others said. For everyone who loves or celebrates this holiday, good for you, Have a blast. But for me, I personally find V-Day to be so...pointless. I just don't see why we need a certain day to celebrate love when generally speaking, we do this more or less everyday with the people (or hell, things) we treasure the most (outside of an excuse for big business to make mo' money, but aren't most holidays like that). But hey, I'm cynical. *shrugs*

Just because others celebrate Valentine's Day doesn't mean the world is rubbing it in anyone's face.

I do agree, you don't need a date on a calendar to celebrate your love with someone. Just like you don't need Christmas to give a gift, or a birthday to throw a party. But, I've been married for 3 years, and Valentine's Day is a nice time to have just a little more romance in a date, a nice dinner, or a special gift. I've always liked Valentine's Day, but, as I said, it doesn't mean couples only use this one day to be kind and loving to each other. Srsly lol.

Truth to tell, I have hardly even been registering it's Valentine's Day today.  I mean, sure, on some V-Days in the past I've felt similar to a lot of people in this thread - though on other V-Days I've had someone to share it with, too, so I've been on both ends of that spectrum.

But what Beardo said.  It just depends a lot on how you look at it.

if this special cozy day didnt exist i would have made it up myself.  its wonderful to choose a day in a year each year to stop and think of the person you love and attempt to make them smile.... but this wonderful day does exist and its the sweetest day of the year for me cause i get to see all sorts of cute couple sharing it.
isnt it a pretty sight to see a man walk down the street carrying a red rose on this day, or seeing old couple holding hands or seeing a blushing girl recieve a a wrapped gift from the person next to her knowing they're in love?

XD i dont care if i have someone to share it with or not, the happiness in the air is what makes it wonderful <hugs all the singles on the thread> smile for those who found their other and enjoy this day dreaming of how wounderful it will be for you someday soon.

and if you're a single girl go buy yourself a rose, i always do that every year it makes me dreamy and full of happiness just imagining it as a gift from someone special XD waaaa i'm so happy with my rose now just imagine how happy i'll be when my wonderful someone gives it to me one day    i love valentine's day.

Now, now sonicsfan why did you only hug the singles? Don't "single" us out. *wags finger* But yea...I love seeing couples together. As a matter of fact, I helped one of my friends get his Valentine's Day stuff together for this girl he's madly crushing on. It's pretty awesome! While i'm only in a relationship once every 22 years...I am constantly rolling with the romantic contingencies.

Today kicked ass.  I had a company paid-for lunch at a rather nice restaurant, and the weather is unseasonably gorgeous around here (65 degrees with an awesome breeze).  Plus, the commute was better than usual, today.

...

Wait, we're supposed to celebrate love or something today?  Pfft...I can do that any day I want, and it'll be more romantic because it'll be more of a surprise.  No need to restrict such things to a single fixed day.

(granted, I'm single right now, but my point still stands)

Hey Yi.

*shot and stabbed*

*takes out the pepper spray* Step away from the Asian.

Honestly, Sonicsfan, I don't really appreciate the pity just because I am single. I don't need a hug or a rose (I don't even like roses) to let myself feel special. I'm content. If I get a guy, it'll happen. If it doesn't, I am not moping for one. Yeah, be happy for others, that's fine, but be happy for the singles who choose or enjoys being single.

^ This.

Being single is nothing to be pitied about.  Some of us, like me, enjoy being single cause we've got so much else going on in our lives.

i didnt mean it as a pity hug, more of a compassionate hug. some of the singles on the mofo were talking about personal things here, its a decent and kind thing to offer a hug when emotions are in play.

if you feel happy as a single that's great, i was planning to be single all my life, but you never know what might come your way and you change your mind about being single. so take it from me dont say something you might change your mind about someday or you'll feel silly about it the way i did XD

Please don't assume what I (and Sailor Unicron) said implies we choose to be single forever and should we change our mind, we'll be poorer for it. Nobody said that. I certainly didn't. Don't jump the gun and assume otherwise. I have nothing against romance and should I fall in love, I'll fall in love. I'm not activity avoiding it - I am merely content at the moment. Nothing more, nothing less.

*arrives late*

I thought it was a day to commemorate Oregon and Arizona joining the Union. Was it not?

Sam & Max: Freelance Police have the ultimate take on Valentine's day. It's available you know where and makes me laugh every time.

If I didn't say something I might change my mind about in future, I'd never have an opinion, ever... Except that I dislike children. That one's unlikely to change

^ This again.  (We're apparently on the same wavelength about this subject, Neo.)

I figure if I'm meant to fall in love, it'll happen.  But I'm going to let it happen on its own accord.

Too many peope ignore the indigo/periwinkle colors. Congratulations for respecting them!! Next, do something with the teal/turquoise colors and then the differnt shades of yellow green (closer to yellow) n___N

o_O!! Yes Shifty...exactly.

@ Neo LOL! Hey...i'm allergic to pepper spray. *swells up*

And to reiterate what Neo, Unicron and others have said i'm not avoiding love. As a matter of fact i'm in love. It's just...not as simple as I wish it was. Right now atleast. In a few years...who knows what'll be in store.
