The answer is that as embryos men and women have similar tissues and body parts. If anything the embryo follows a 'female template'. That is why nipples are present in both sexes. It is the effect of the genes, the Y chromosome and the hormone testosterone that brings about the changes and masculinises the embryo. Testosterone promotes the growth of the penis and testicles. Because nipples are there before this process begins the nipples stay!

Since Man Was Created First, Why Did God Give Man Nipples?

Perhaps Adam gave birth and nursed his young before Eve's arrival ? Does anyone have a clue about this?

Science claims to have a simple answer for this age old mystery through it's study of DNA. Some of the guys and gals reading this probably studied DNA sufficiently in school to reason out sciences answer. I invite the biologist among us to give it a try too.

It would be nice to hear an answer from both sides. I have been told by some that the Bible is "Man's Owners Manual". Surely there are some Bible following Christian brothers and sisters of mine who know a verse or two that, at least, somewhat addresses this rather obvious question.

Even if men didn't have nipples, I'd still love them all the same!

It's funny that there have documented some men actually breast feeding with them. I found this out in my biology class in high school and there were pictures and a movie of it. It was wierd.

i heard there's a tribe where the men don't exactly breast-feed, but use their nipples as a dummy/pacifier for their child.. although for the life of me i can't remember where this was or where i heard it. o.x;
