Apparently the house of representatives have voted down some net neutrality bill or voted up on some non net neutrality bill.

I have completely lost faith in the government with this movement.

For links to work in Yuku, click on the Insert Hyperlink button and put the URL on all three given lines. If you want the link to show different text, write the text you want on the final line and it should work.

and this would be your final result:

Yuku link says: "Click Me!"

As for the topic at hand, I really don't want to go into it and hope that things still stay mostly the same. =X

Hmm...reading up on both sides of the issue...

I have a mixed opinion. We either get government regulation for the sake of stopping company regulation (Net Neutrality) or we supposedly get rampant company regulation (Non-Net Neutrality). Nix the profitability of Internet innovation (Net Neutrality) or supposedly no longer having a level playing field (Non-Net Neutrality).

Hmm.

The actual text of Net Neutrality bills would give the FCC some new regulatory powers, but then we have worries on the side of corporations.

Hmm.

If the government steps in, they limit what services the ISP can offer. If they don't step in, they allow what are basically monopolies the ability to restrict competition.

I believe this is what we call 'growing pains', especially given how young this branch of technology is; it's been, what, over a decade now since the Internet went mainstream?

Things are probably going to change one way or the other. Whichever route - or perhaps a third option that hasn't been considered - is most similar to the current status quo, then that's the route I want.

Congrats on linking an article from 2006. Because now is totally equal to two years ago.

IIRC this has become less of an urgent issue since this article was written, albeit still a very real one.
