Meh, I don't think it looks bad; I know this maybe pointless but let's at least wait until a script before we call it raping a childhood memory.
Ditto the Sharp One.
Besides its safe, people liked Yogi Bear. Easy to go with something safe rather than try and invent something new and hope people love it.
no no <shakes head> i agree with sonic v2, it already looks like a fail just look at those pies, there's no way the real yogi would let good pie go to waste he'd clean his plate.
Not enough facepalm in the world...
Please explain to me what is so face palmy about the picture, which is all we have for right now. I think the graphics look good and both Yogi and Boo Boo look very faithful to their animated incarnations.
Bahahah! I'm with Ray, they do look good. Which is about all we have to go on. The story behind Yogi is fairly nonexistant anyway...so we can expect a storyline that is totally pointless and lackluster because well...that's what it is. I doubt i'll see it or anything, but i'm hoping these directors are smarter than your aver-riiiight. I'm not finishing that one. >.
Jellystone Park has been losing business, so greedy Mayor Brown decides to shut it down and sell the land. That means families will no longer be able to experience the natural beauty of the outdoors -- and, even worse, Yogi and Boo Boo will be tossed out of the only home they've ever known. Faced with his biggest challenge ever, Yogi must prove that he really is "smarter than the average bear" as he and Boo Boo join forces with their old nemesis Ranger Smith to find a way to save Jellystone Park from closing forever.
Here's the plot summary doesn't sound bad; your typical save the park story so if anything it'll be mediocre.
Trailer for Yogi is now up! It actually looks good and even has some classic cartoon gags! Aykroyd does a decent portrayal as Yogi, but Timberlake's Boo Boo is pretty much spot on!
Dan Aykroyd! My 2nd favorite SNL alum (the 1st being Bill Murray.) It doesn't look too bad, certainly can't be worse than the Fairly Oddparents movie.
I at least lol'd, seeing that trailer. That actually looks like it'd be pretty good. I may go see it.
Wow... I heard Justin Timberlake as Boo-Boo and went D: D: D:... But his voice is DEAD ON. Aykroyd leaves some to be desired with Yogi's voice, but it could be worse. I might go see it. It isn't something I'll rush out to see, but I will watch it at some point.
Probably won't see it, although it does look like it's faithful to certain cartoon aspects (the train scenes from the trailer - particularly the fence bit - is utterly classic). And Timberlake as Boo-Boo...hardcore.
At this point I'm not really surprised at all about them recycling movies, just that it took them this long to reach some of the old classics. If they hadn't already done a Flintstones movie years ago, I would be wondering when they'd resurrect that old Hanna-Barbera cartoon next, as they've done it already to a number of them. Maybe the Jetsons or Speed Buggy?
"Wow... I heard Justin Timberlake as Boo-Boo and went D: D: D:... But his voice is DEAD ON"
i agree too his voice was perfect... as for the movie itself i thought it would all be CG, i dont think i like it like this. i'm not a fan of silly comedies and wasnt yogi supposed to be in a mall? that would've been cooler.

oh that would be way cool having a jetsons movie, with real actors hopefully. cause i really loved the flinstones live action movies.
and wasnt yogi supposed to be in a mall? that would've been cooler.
No, you're thinking of Yo Yogi, which was in the same vein as A Pup Named Scooby Doo. The actual classic Yogi cartoons did take place it Yellowstone National Park just like the movie, and Yogi and Boo Boo got into a lot of trouble just like in the trailer.
Maybe the Jetsons
Actually, I read awhile ago that they was planning on a live action Jetsons, but I just read the Jetsons wiki page and while they was hoping to release a live action Jetsons in 2012, they decided to make a 4th Spy Kids instead.
Looks faithful enough to me, but hey that's just this ghost's opinion.
Weba, oh Mike of the 1204! I thought it was you and the avatar confirms it!
I am shocked that Timberlake can pull off BooBoo. Holy crap, huge awesome points for Justin have been earned by me. Respect was earned when I saw him every time on SNL, (about the only good time to watch that show now, anymore), and now he does voice acting and can mimic an old voice very well. Wow, is all I've gotta say.
-snrk- Yogi's right leg is way longer than his left one. No points for Gryffindor!

now who in their right mind choose spy kids over the jetsons.. THE JETSONS! oh well the cartoon movies were perfect enough i suppose... still i'd like a futuristic comedy movie -_-
Oh God, that tagline and poster. Just... wow.
Seriously, wow.
Oh dear god.
Wow.
Bahahahahahah! The tagline is fantastic! Over the top corniness, oh how i've missed you. *thumbs up*
Oh god. XD
Really? o.o Did you make that Ultra? u_u
...I'd watch that movie!
PedoBear is far more relevant Culturally now than Yogi is anyway!
Well.
This is doomed. XD
Bahahah! Right you are Mobius, right you are.
Dan Akroyd can't do the voice even remotely right, which makes me wonder, if this was a name casting, was that the best they could get to sign? Dan Akroyd hasn't been a movie star since ... before the second wave of Yogi cartoons in the 80's.
BooBoo sounds ok, but I think people are only praising him because he sounds THAT MUCH BETTER than his co-star. It's a difficult role, which counts too, but the voice isn't hard to tell from the original.
I just can't get over the prominent casting on the movie poster and trailer like somebody said: 'Hey guys, we got a license to a long time cartoon character. But will the kids listen? We need stars, we need a cast that screams hip and will put butts in the seats. How can we make this relevant to today's kids and their ipods and blogs (makes quote fingers) and cell phones and new coke? Oh my god. You have got to be kidding me. We got Dan Akroyd and Justin Timberlake? Print up the ads! Put their names in the trailer! 23 Skidoo!'
