Okay, so recently I just got finished reading most of the major Batman storylines from the continuity reset of Crisis on Infinite Worlds (Or whatever, end of the silver age) to War Games (AUUUGH >.<)

Without my Batman supply, I have turned to the other comics I have, in this case, Hellblazer. And in reading the first four issues, I have thought to myself; "I've had this on my computer for ages, WHY THE HECK havn't I read this yet." Because quite simply, so far, its brilliant.

Which brings me to the question, what comics do you enjoy? Are you a Supes fan, a Batfreak? Have you the love for Spidey? Or are you less mainstream? And, perhaps most importantly, what would you reccomend to others?

Myself, I don't actually get to read a lot of comics straight up, being an impovrished student and all, so the best I can usually do is rent collections from the library, or gain them through less supportive means. But what I do go for in any of these cases?

Batman always has been, and always will be, a big draw for me, but that can be said for lots of people, so lets move on.

Other things I go for, well, I've always liked Spiderman in an odd way. I love the concept and the character, I love most things related to him, but I won't go out of my way to read it. I've consistently enjoyed reading Spiderman when I HAVE read anything with him, but like I said, I won't search it out. X-men is sort of the same way, for a while I actually went out an bought 'em, and they will always have a soft spot, but not something I'll put myself out for.

Maybe it's my delayed reading, but I tend to go for odder things, like right now I'm reading Hellblazer, cutting it occasionally with the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

One comic that I actually conisdered shilling out for on a regular basis is Cable/Deadpool. Deadpool is probably my favourite comic character (Even if he is leifield) for his sheer juxtaposed mix of humour and drama, Cable (Liefield again? I guess he wasn't all bad) was one of my favourites when I was small, and still he's kinda cool. Cyborg Psions? Awesome. Combining the two together brought about a wonderful union though, the dysfunctional relationship between them was a beuty to behold. Of course, I may now be entirely out of the loop on those pair...

What I'd reccomend? Transmetropolitan always springs to mind, of all, I'd say this is my favourite and I'd tell anyone to read it. Of course it isn't suitable for everyone, but I'm not above corrupting the youth (Personally I'm in favour of a controlled corruption of youth...) but if you can't handle dystopia, substance abuse and illigal bowel disrupters, what are you asking me about comics for?

What I'd like to read, is Sandman. I've only managed to get a small sampling of it, but from what I've read, it seems a gem. I've actually got a lot of the spin-offs, but not the main series =(

So, over to you, true believers!

*Cricks neck*

First off, I regular Scans_Daily, so my main rule for comic reading is "if it's Marvel, interesting or relevant to the stuff I read, I'll check it out"

I'm a hugeass Spidey fanatic, unless no one's noticed that yet. I've read a good 40 odd percent of 616 mainstream Spidey titles (I got to about 1974 in the backcatalog before giving up on it, and have been reading more or less religiously since about 1994 and of course I've seen all the big archs of the 75-80's excluding Kraven's Last Hunt) and someday hope to find the time and interest to read the rest.

What I'm currently reading would include: Amazing, Sensational, Friendly Neighbourhood and Ultimate Spider-Man and have been trying my best to collect the Gargoyles comic series. I on/off with Spider-Girl (due to my love of clone saga and need for it's crack) and She-Hulk.

Last year I read all of Civil War and loved Frontline (WWH Frontline kinda sucks though), to keep up with everything I read any comic which I felt relevent, which included Iron Man, Captain America, She-Hulk and both Avengers titles.

This year it's WWH and I'm doing Hulk, WWH and I had to check out that Ghost Rider one, too.

Yeah, I'm not as huge a comic geek as I like to make myself out to be, but I do extensively research things and that helps me have my encyclopedic knowledge. The reading is just to enjoy the ones I actually enjoy.

...and enjoying a comic book in this day and age is a very very VERY hard thing. *Glares daggers at the "End of an Era" Spider-Man cover which indicates they're going to try split Pete and MJ again*

If Manga counts, I religiously collect the Darkhorse re-prints of Ah! My Godess and wait on each (every 2-3 years) installment of Hellsing. I also started on Azumanga a week ago.

Speaking of Scans_Daily, though... I think I have time to give her a quick once over before work.
