Ok, I feel like envying people.

What theme parks have you guys visited in your life and what rides have you been on? What would be your absoloute favourite (and worst) experiences at them?

I've been to the big three UK ones, Chessington, Thorpe Park (pre-Taussades :( :( :( ) and Alton Towers.

Thorpe and Alton were one time only visits, I've been to Chessington like 5 times. Eventually was tall enough to ride the Ramesses Revenge, which made my entire childhood. Nothing's more terrifying than being held at a 90 degree angle by a very heavy plastic panel pressing into your crotch.

Worst ride I've been on was the "Magic Carpet" which is a platform which quickly zooms around in a loop. It was heavily dangerous (coins go flying out of peoples pockets and such), made you feel like throwing up and was a noisy and ugly contration.

Enough about me. Tell me of your adventures. Anyone who's been on the Superman ride, prepare to be killed by my envy.

My envy's name being TD.

I've been to Pleasure Island (local theme park in Cleethorpes), Lightwater Valley, Flamingo Land, American Adventures (ages ago, and we didn't get around the whole park) and Disneyland Paris, which was underwhelming and makes me hope the Florida one is better.

Normally I only end up at theme parks when I'm choicelessly dragged by someone else, and I haven't been to one for 3-5 years since I don't enjoy most of the thrill rides so it ends up being a waste of money for me to go.

There may be other ones I've been to and forgotten about and I know I haven't stated any rides but my memory is poor with this type of thing so EXCUSABLE

I went to American adventure a few times. It was in Ilkeston, which is where I used to live so~ Heck, my dog knew a back way in and used to escape and run havok around the place. The only worthwile rides that were there was the log flume (I nearly had a heart attack on that thing), the missile and that runaway train thing. I never went on the train thing though. They did have an awesome virtual reality ride though. But overall it was crap.
Been to Drayton Manor and Alton Towers on school trips, but I barely went on any rides at either. I'm terrified of heights so I don't like the rollercoasters and the queues were horrific. I burst out crying on Hex at Alton Towers, which is like the mildest ride there o.o Oh and lol after I did that my "friends" deliberatly went on it again knowing fully well I wouldn't go with them, effectively ditching me. Luckily a proper friend of mine has also been ditched my his "friends" for a similar reason so we just sat around eating ice creams.

I think I prefer water parks.

I've been to Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, Blackpool Pleasure beach, and American Adventure (no longer around.)

I've been too all of them repeatedly in my life due to my parents working on stage there, my Mom being a singer and my Dad a violinist.

I was always one to avoid anything that went upside down, though I've been a few from time to time. My favourite ride was always the waltzers in the dark, especially the American Adventure one and the Blackpool one. My least favourite ride would be the Sky diving swing at American Adventure, I never went on it but seeing my Dad, brother and sister up there made me worried more than ever.

My fondest memories were of Drayton Manor though, in the arcades playing Mortal Kombat 3. 😛

I've been to Six Flags Over Georgia, Islands of Adventure, Alabama Adventure(and then the Disney parks but are those qualified as theme parks).Oh and Universal Studios. Personally IoA is my absolute favorite. The Incredible Hulk and Dueling Dragons rocks like nobody's business. Then I went to SeaWorld[Orlando] and they had a ride I didn't know about and obviously many others didn't as well[considering the line wasn't there :D ] called Kraken. That ride rocked. But my favorite is probably The Hulk. :)

Disney/Seaworld (if those qualify), Six Flags Texas, Universal.

Um... I rode just about every ride at Six flags and Universal. I try to block out Disney.

Note Universal Studios was visited around 94-95 and Six Flags was lasted triumphed about a decade ago. Yes, it's been that long since I was on vacation.

The first theme park I've been to that I remember is Lightwater Valley in Yorkshire. That was also the first (and possibly only) upside down rollercoaster I ever went on - the Super Looper. I don't think that's there any more. At the time they were building something like Europe's tallest rollercoaster (or was it the longest?), which should give you an idea of how long ago it was. We're talking late 80s or early 90s here. I also went on a Viking ship and hated it, I'd never go on another as they make me feel sick.

I went to Drayton Manor Park for a friend's 13th birthday and rode the tamer rides - mini rollercoasters and the like, cup and saucer rides. Again, waltzers make me feel sick. I lose.

In 1996 we went to Disney MGM and I fell in love with the Tower of Terror. I'm putting off visiting Disneyland Paris until next year when their version opens. I love that ride! We also went on Star Tours which was great. Yay for queuing through Endor...

In 1998 we went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The Back to the Future ride was made of win, as was the Jurassic Park log flume. I avoided the Duelling Dragons and Hulk and things like that - I am wimp, hear me wimper.

The last theme park I went to was the Warner Brothers Movie World in Madrid. I loved the rapids rides - Rio Bravo, Acme Rapids, Wild Cataracts etc. Mind you, one of the cooler things was the chance to wander around the Acme Factory :D

I also enjoyed the Coaster-Express - an old fashioned wooden rollercoaster in the Wild West part of the studio. You could probably see the whole park from the top of it, if you weren't blind without your glasses like I am.

Then there was the haunted hotel, where it feels like the entire room is turning upside down. The Scooby Doo cup & saucer ride was pleasant. And I liked the mine carts as well (variation on a theme of going round and round).

More adventurous souls than me would have enjoyed Gotham City & wherever the heck it is Superman lives, as that's where the Superman ride of steel and Batman Joker's Revenge rollercoasters are. And some Lex Luthor ride.

Personally, I was happy to stroll down Hollywood Boulevard and visit Daffy's house :) And try to decipher Marvin the Martian's 3D Adventure in Spanish...

I went to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City as an end-of-year trip in 8th grade. It was awesome.

I've been to Disneyland Paris twice (aged 11 and 17 I think), both times as a school trip, and Oakwood once (this summer, as it happens) with my dad and Saz.

It doesn't seem like a lot, but that's because a bad experience on Space Mountain scared me off rollercoasters for a good half a decade. Basically the whole time it felt like my harness wasn't secure and that if I let go for any amount of time it would have released, hurling me to an untimely doom. Not fun. After that I refused to go on any fairground ride more white-knuckle than the spinning teacups.

The second trip to Disneyland was much more rewarding, having overcome my fears before I came thanks to local single-day/weekend fun fairs, although I never did go back to Space Mountain. That was because I never got round to it, though. I think my favourite ride in Disneyland Paris was the Rock & Roller Coaster.

Oakwood has some fun rides, including Speed, which features a 97 degree drop, although by far the best attraction there is Vertigo. Imagine, if you will, being strapped into a harness attached to a rope, being winched a couple hundred feet in the air and then released from the winch so that you free fall while attached to the rope, effectively turning you into a human pendulum. In my case, a very sweary human pendulum. Brilliant fun. You have the option of doing it on your own, in a pair or in a three, but Saz would never do a thing like that so I got to do it on my own. :D

Um... Minnesota has at least 2 parks... Valley Fair is the big outdoor park (It's owned by the same company that owns Cedar Park, which is HEAVEN for any roller coaster enthusiasts). Being Minnesota, it's only open from May to October.

The PARK at MOA (formerly known as Camp Snoopy) is an indoor amusement park at the Mall of America. The park features 2 roller coasters, a log ride, a ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and other rides.

I've never been to a theme park, unless two small waterparks in Destin, FL. count. Well, one of them isn't really small, but it isn't esxactly some huge spectacle.

But I live near three or four around the Atlanta area, one very close to where I live.

i don't really remeber the rides when i went to disneyland in america, but i was only 6 at the time. >>;

we went to thorpe park almost every single year when i was at primary school. we'd go on all the water rides and get half-soaked. ^^ i LOVED the one where you're in a round boat-shape, and it splashes around a sort of river.

alas, my main memory was on a school trip there and we went to see the farm. i threw up all over a lovely lady who was demonstrating how to spin wool. ;--; gaah!

i've been to several theme parks, but i simply can't remember much of any of them, or i confuse them all in my mind. ^^;
i do remember space mountain at disneyland paris, it was awesome! as soon as i'd gotten off it, i re-joined the line!
rides like that don't scare me, for some reason. perhaps it's because i take off my glasses and can't see much? 😛

I've only been to about 4 theme parks in my life, and I rarely go on the rides when I'm there.

I've been to a local amusement park called Adventure Land about 2 times, which has one roller coaster and one log flume ride, and those are the only things really worth riding. People usually had birthday parties here, so that's the only reason I went.

I've been to Disney Land and Disney World in Florida, and I went when I was 4 or 5, so I don't really remember much. I think that was a family vacation.

I've also been to Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida which was alright. Again, I went when I was young, 8 I think, so I didn't go on anything. That was another family vacation.

And the last theme park I can remember is Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. This was probably the most recent park I've been to and that was about 4 or 5 years ago. Didn't go on any rides there.

Yeah, amusement parks suck.

Kings Island

Coney Island Park

And I think I went here once.

I don't do much in the way of amusement parks, as I don't do well on Roller Coasters (read: almost passed out riding one once)

Lessee here...

I've been to Alton Towers a shedload really, even once on halloween when you can ride in the dark, which is awesome. I've been to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and it's knock-off equivilent in southport, Pleasureland. I've been to a couple of Gulliver's thingies, but I can't remember which. There was one someplace I can't remember the name of or location of, but was fairly rubbish.

Also I've been to Durinell, where I stayed for a week, which was cool, but left me with a scar, and Eftiling, which is easily the best theme park I've ever been too. Ever.

I don't think I've got any more in my resume, but I'm not great at remembering.
