This is where the US' interpretation of PG-13 goes over my head - I'm not too convinced that this entire topic fits in with the ethos of "In general, don't post or link to anything most people wouldn't want a 10-year old to see", though, so whilst two other Admins may apparently be fine with it, I'll just register disapproval and grit my teeth for the next few rulings on chat room content.

To be honest (sorry, Dub, but it's true), I'm disappointed at the lack of self-control in posting those pics in this context - bizarrely amusing or not.

When someone draws a line for me, I'll follow it. But for now I'll rely on gut feeling. And that feeling right now says roll with it, as this is a thread I wouldn't care if the kids saw. Granted I wouldn't be answering questions on PiE, lol.

Sure, it's funny as heck, but a rule someone suggested to me a long time ago (and I forget who it was, so apologies for that) is that when judging the content of a post and whether or not to act on it, to pretend that WB posted it and then make the call. This has saved a lot of threads from being party-pooped, just FYI. 😛 But in this case I don't even have to pretend, and I still don't approve.

Yes, this was funny - but funny isn't the deciding factor in whether it's appropriate or not. And there's certainly enough innuendo in the thread to erase any doubt of where this thread is going. Definitely more than enough. "Four fists and a head." Yeesh, we might as well join Sonic Cult if that's the kind of stuff we're saying here.

This MIGHT have been okay - if it had been handled more maturely and with less blatant innuendo. But it wasn't.

Although I disagree very strongly with the "pretend that WB posted it" idea. I don't like spoiling anyone's party, but I've given Dub a metaphorical whack around the head for overdoing it more than once over the years, and he knows I'll do it.

We don't run a two tier system of rules interpretation for "the cool kids" and everyone else - or at least, I don't.

Maybe I am being to lenient, or maybe there's something non-malicious about the way it was presented. Dunno, I just saw people having fun and not complaining, emoing, insulting each other, etc and said, "Hey, I'll leave it alone and not look a gift horse in the mouth."
