ReutersBROKEN SILENCE: Tom Cuise was left fuming after a moment's silence on the set of his new film Valkyrie was ruined by an inappropriate fart.
Hollywood star Tom Cruise was left furious after a crew member on his latest film set passed wind during a minute's silence.
The actor - who is shooting World War II drama Valkyrie in Berlin - had paused filming to honour the anti-Nazi heroes portrayed in the movie when one employee decided to break wind during the tribute.
Fellow star Christian Berkel - who plays anti-Hitler plotter Albrecht Mertz von Quirbheim - said: "The film's director Bryan Singer, the screenplay writer Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise asked us all to observe a moment's silence shortly before we started filming."
A source on the set told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Fortunately the mystery gassy man didn't completely ruin the touching gesture.
"Quite rightly, Tom is furious. We were filming at the Bendler Block in Germany where the anti-Nazis were executed."
The source said Cruise decided to ask for the minute's silence to show respect for the deceased and appease the German government, who only allowed the movie to be filmed if post-war Germany was shown in a positive light.
The source added: "So for somebody to pass wind in a situation like that is unforgivable."
The silence was filmed and now Cruise and the producers will go through the footage to identify the culprit, who is likely to be fired.
Guess his scientology based flying spaghetti monster god doesn't like it when people make poo-poo in thier dideys either. Too much like those meatballs for his liking!
Good thing sane people don't like Tom Cruise.
I doubt he farted on purpose D:
How rediculously over the top
Cruise has been over the top a lot lately.
This is really funny, if a bit sad all at once... how'd that dude ever manage to find work again? XD
His name is probably all he's got going for him now. I don't think he's that popular anymore, is he?
I'm not saying FOR SURE or even am I really beleiving this... but just for the sake of discussion, what if he did it on purpose? Do you think he should've gotten fired then? I mean, their killing his paycheck and his life just for a fart, duuudes.
As much as I hate Tom Cruise, I'm all about respect and traditions when properly and politely asked, not forced, in return. A simple, "I'm sorry, I'm soooo sorry", would've done well.
If it was loud and obnoxious, I'm sorry, that's on purpose. You can work your muscles to make a fart come out as soft as you possibly can. If it was a FRRRANT loud ass noise, then yeah, screw that guy.
If it was a Post Oprah Flip out Tom Cruise flip out, then, yeah, screw that noise, too.
But I do'nt think its that serious so as to fire someone.

Uh, yeah they should. Depending on who is overseeing this project involved with the German gov't, that could have been deal breaking.
You know, it would be really ironic if it was actually Cruise who passed gas, and was trying to mask the fact by getting furious.
Bu then again, I doubt he's that crafty. xP
Although I wouldn't put it past him.
To be honest as much as I hate the 3 foot nothing American, This more about playing respect to people than "LOL OMG TOM CROOSE IS TEH MAD!"
Is it an overreaction? Possibly. It depends on the volume of the fart I suppose.
If it was stupidly loud and distracting enough to make people laugh during this moment's silence (Potty Humour FTW!) than the bloke possibly deserves to be fired.
If it was a quiet one but a smelly one than it is unfair to fire him really.
Oh well. Bloody Scientologists.
