Venus would have probably been more accepted if she weren't a turtle. Kinda like...I dunno some generic green lizard like Mona Lisa. Reportedly, you can't even ask Laird about her without sending him into a rage.

xD! Yea...if Venus weren't a turtle she'd definitely be easier to accept. I don't even remember how she came to be. Like TG/CRI is in Japan or something? Wha-?!

well Next Mutation was just Power Rangers with the Turtles so maybe the producers decided they NEEDED at least one female. And I love how the first episode gives us the location "Somewhere in China" as if the script writers were too lazy to open a map.

xD! Was it China? I couldn't remember. Boy...I remember when that show first aired...I was like "Yay....turtles in real life again. A female turtle? My brain...ca-n...not co-mpre-hend..." I bet that show was hilarous I was just too into it to realize. Youtube...here I come.

Skip ahead to 8:30 to hear this supposed rumor. If thats true I will be the happiest retro fag ever. The only draw back would be hideous made for T.V. CGI
But the possibilities are there. What if they gave it to the guys who did The Last Airbender? Whatever it is. If this is what Nick does I hope they can get the original VA's back for the original turtles. Though I wouldn't complain too much about who they got for the movie. They did a good enough job that I could deal with it.

xD! Happiest retro fag. 😛 Seriously though...that would be great. CGI could work too...I mean...i'm not going to doubt it until I see a reason to.

Did that South Park episode cause some kind of paradigm shift in pop culture? Are we now allowed to casually toss the word "fag" around on with abandon on a family-rated message board like it was 4chan?

inb4 cries of hypocrisy

Well in this case the word "fag" really does just mean annoying or obnoxious or somebody who is obsessed with some kind of...thing. It could be anything be it nostalgia, cartoons, anime, or motorcycles. It's been used in this way way before that South Park episode.

I'm very much aware of the word's sudden change of definition as used by Internet denizens who prefer to eschew everything mainstream and follow their own set of unwritten guidelines on how the world works or should work. I'm just making a point that the rest of society has yet to realize that... the aforementioned episode of South Park being a rather big step in mainstream recognition of what's been happening. But we're not quite there yet. And we've established time and again that despite most members of this particular forum are 13 years or older and should be able to handle such language with a bit of grace and maturity (whatever THAT means on the internet)... it's still going to be subject to wanton abuse.

Although, I can certainly understand that by getting the ball rolling, the so-called shift in how society views the word (as far as I can tell it's still a bit of a cuss word, isn't it?) might change from a word that disparages one set of individuals to one that disparages all (equal opportunity at its finest). But you're forgetting how much some people despise change. They're not going to let go of what they know quite so easily, leading to clashes in thinking.

Here's an idea. Let's not just say it?

Holy crap, where do I come up with these radical ideas???

Hahah indeed, indeed. I was only quoting that post on the youtube video. (Probably should've clarified that in my post) Anywho...I have found so many dang funny TMNT videos online these past few weeks. Like a ton of old christmas ones and this one that's a rap song sync. Extremely inapproriate, but oh man...it might be the funniest thing ive seen online in years. xD!

Classic TMNT vs New TMNT part 1-1

I know things like this are what nerd flame wars are made of. But I gotta admit I enjoyed listening to this guy point out some of the more interesting points and characters of both series and compare them. I don't agree with everything he says but I'm perfectly fine with it. I'm more interested in knowing why he thinks what he thinks...If only most fans could be this way.

Since it's now the 16th, 4kids' planned to put the uncut Turtles Forever movie in it's entirety on their website, which can be viewed here.

Too bad that content is currently unavailable (In annoying female computerized voice).

that website is evil. The commercial either loops endlessly or freezes. If you want to watch the uncut version look to youtube again.

Turtles Forever Uncut

Also did we already talk about how Nickelodeon now owns the Turtles franchise Lock Stock and Barrel? I think we might've and I forgot.

EDIT: Duh yeah we did. My memory is awful. It's just that at first I didn't know that Laird actually sold over the intellectual rights. So Nick most likely plans to make a show more like the 80's toon. I'm not sure if I should be happy about this or not.

Maybe they'll get the Avatar crew to work something up. It's not like they're doing anything else!

Provided, of course, that they weren't all let go.

Just watched Forever, hense the late joining to the thread, and I loved it!

Gotta say I was really happy with the comic world, even though I never read the comics, and I definitely want to start.

So if the next show is going to be in 3D. What would people say if its quality was that of Clone Wars? I know just about everyone hates that show for some reason but I thought the quality of animation on that was quite good.

I finally saw it. My favorite scene was the bit where Shredder shows them all the alternate turtles. <3 @ japanese TMNT cameo
