Yep, indeed it is. In case you guys have no idea what I'm talking about, *points to sig* September 25th may be Halo 3 Day, but to me, it's the day I leave for the Navy.
Technically, I leave my house tomorrow morning. My recruiter's gonna pick me up, then take me to my school for a few hours, so I can say goodbye to everyone there (I'm pretty close to my school, since I did the announcements there, and I've gained a lot of popularity and respect from many people). Around 2 pm central, I'll be going to a federal building in downtown, which is the Military Entry Program (or MEPs for short). This was the place that I went to about 6 months ago where I originally signed up. They have to do another quick check-up on me before I leave, which includes a piss test (good thing I don't smoke nor drink). After that, I'll be on my way to the hotel, which is something EVERY shipper goes to one night before leaving, no matter which service you're in. Then, I'll have to wake up at 3 am and get ready for the bus that would take us back to MEPs, so we can watch some videos and swear in. Sometime around 1 pm, we'll be making our way to the airport, which will take each shipper of each service to their designation. In this case, I'll be going to Great Lakes, Illinois for boot camp. We should be there by 9 pm, but we're gonna have to wait for all of the other shippers from around the world to come. Once we're all gathered, we take another bus to the boot camp, which should be about a 30 min. drive, depending on traffic. Then, we go from there. o.o
I'm gonna be VERY busy for the next few days (and weeks). From what it seems, tonight is like my only time I have available to tell you guys that I'm gonna be gone for a while. So yeah, it's been fun being here for the last few years. I originally thought I could never fit in with you guys. I always thought I felt alienated for some reason. Glad to see that it's definitely not the case. Most importantly, I'm gonna miss you guys a lot. Sure, there have been times where I was greatly annoyed by some people here, but honestly though. You're all not bad all. =) Also, don't forget to add my Wii friend code please. I'm gonna need some competition for Brawl while I'm serving (although I'm sure there will be a few shipmates of mine who would love to join in).
EDIT: And oh yeah! I forgot! My b-day is also this Friday, but I'll be at boot camp at the time. Luckily, I've celebrated it last week with my family and friends.
