Yep, this topic should have been started several weeks ago, but, what the hey! As some of you may know, the Rugby World Cup is on in france at the moment, and guess what, it's nearly time for the finals.
And England (After some admitadly shoddy play most of the way throught) have reached that point to defend their title!
Now, who's been watching any of this? =P
I've been semi-watching it.
So I take it that they defeated France?
Aye, but it was blumming close. They were playing like they had greased their hands =S
don't they have pretty sweaty hands anyway? all that running around and knocking each other over. oo;
not been following this as my friends don't have a TV, but yay! now i know what all the fuss is about! ^^
And it's all over!
We lost, of course, but I expected that.
Both teams played a pretty blinding game actually, which led to quite a boring match. However, South Africa eventually won out on referee being a big french goit.
Seriously, 9 of SA's point's simply shouldn't have happened, they were penalties given for no reason at all.
Despite this, I think South africa would have won out in extra time anyway, since despite skill being about matched (England played for the most part bizarely well considering their performance in the rest of the cup) the sheer pack weight of South Africa was winning over. But still, they should have won on their own skill rather than ref bias.
I'd like to dispute the only thing that came close to a try in the whole match, but I really can't. It was a tough call, but the video ref made the right choice.
Crim's favourite part: When an england player shoved that South Africa fullback, right into the camera and over a wall =D That was genius.
