I'm actually a bit uneasy about this, since it's been a long time, writers have changed, the cast've changed and it may all be one sequel too far.

But I'll be watching it to find out, anyway. Roll on Easter!

Sam, do you know who in the cast has been changed? All that is mentioned in that little Beeb blurb is an allusion to the original crew reconvening for their roles.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for this, if it's going to stand in place of the movie that's never going to happen.

I remember years ago in chat HSW told me that smeg was a real swear word and I actually believed him D:

I'd better tell my Dad to tape this, he loves the show.

She may mean that the cast have grown ten years older since the series ended, which could affect things.

This excites me, but only if they ignore series 7 and 8, as awesome as the Ace Rimmer opening and the Arnold Rimmer song were, they really ruined the show for me.

Either way, roll on Starbug, we've missed ya!

Worst case scenario, it's not good and I erase it from my head-canon. Best case, I HAVE MY DWARF BACK, BABY. YEAH!

Thanks, Robo - that's what I meant.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who saw the last two seasons as poor. With the exception of Tikka to Ride (the JFK episode), the Rimmer munchkin song and the Ace Rimmer arc, I found season seven one big mistake - especially as soon as Kochanski came in.

Don't get me wrong - I've met Chloe Annett and she's a very nice lady, but you could understand why Lister might be attracted to Clare Glrogan's Kochanski, because she came across as challenging and able to give the guys a run for their money. Annett just didn't have the same style and the character seemed written as just vapid and annoying.

And don't start me on the whole Ouroboros idea, either...

Season eight - expanding the cast and finishing Kochanshi's job by totally blowing the scenario's familiarity to a sci-fi version of The Young Ones out of the water - is one I still haven't been able to watc all the way through

I'll be watching this for sure, but with apprihension after the last two seasons, for the reasons stated above. Certainly I feel they had some of the best comedic moments, but really overall they were very...

wrong? disjointed from the setting? Crap?

I dunno. But Dave makes suprisingly good shows for being a channel based on reruns of Top Gear and BBC quiz shows. So there may be hope yet.

I am unaware of what this Red Dwarf is. Can someone fill me in and all?

It's a Sci-Fi comedy about a complete waster who just so happens to be the last human alive. On the Jupiter Mining Corperation ship Red Dwarf, which had a containment leak and had to travell 3 million years away from earth, Dave Lister now lives (due to being in stasis) with his hologramatic jobsworth Rimmer, A creature that evolved from the ships cat, and a service droid called Kryten. And occasionally the senile computer Holly.

They have wacky adventures.

It's fun.
