Counting down for the Dark Knight. =D =D =D
I saw Hancock
Ehhhhhhhhhh... it was OK. I mean, the action was good and the jokes were funny, but the movie goes way downhill after the big reveal.
Well now that I know there is abig reveal I will not be shocked by it. Thanks alot guys.
You still probably will. We didn't tell you what it was, did we? I didn't see it coming anyway.
so far this summer ive seen
Chronacles of Narinia: Prince Caspin
Indiana Jones IV
Iron Man
Incredible Hulk
Wall-E
& Hancock
All of em are pretty good But Wall-E & Iron Man are the best movies of the summer hands down, OF course I may change my mind after i go see Hellboy II this weekend.
OF course I may change my mind after i go see Hellboy II and The Dark Knight.
Fixed. =P

XDXD!! Well i'm hoping to see Hellboy II...like Saturday or something maybe. But yea The Dark Knight...will be phenomonal. Woo hoo!
....I think dark knight looks, good & i am a batman fan, OK actually im a Mr.Freeze fan But that makes me a BM fan by default, i'd just rather see Hellboy II overbatman because well this is like what batmans 8th movie, & in all honsety if youve seen one Batmovie youve seen every batmovie.

No now I will be focused on waiting for the plot twist instead of enjoying the movie and being shocked. Thanks alot guys.

... get ooooooooooout. Batman Begins was a total restart to the whole franchise. More action, darker story... better acting and directing and script writing and story... Hell, just look at the images for the Heath compared to Nicholson. That ain't a new coat of paint...
Yeah, but to tell the truth*, this whole "Darker, Edgier, Emotionally Charged" shtick is getting old. Where's Adam West and Caesar Romero when we need 'em?
* and by truth I mean "F**KNO"
if youve seen one Batmovie youve seen every batmovie.
Just watched Hot Fuzz on TV again, just because it's such a well-done movie.
And I'm on the boat which isn't really looking forward to The Dark Knight. I never got into Begins, either. Sure, they've both got such a great cast, I won't argue with that, I think it's the Batmobile and the Batbike which have got to me, though.
The vehicles turned you off of it? What? What do you mean?
Just reserved my tickets for the midnight showing of Dark Knight... at an IMAX =D =D =D... Really surprised about the cost though, only $6.50 for the tickets. (of course I ordered Child/Sr/Matinee tickets (it is a matinee damnit)... but that included the $1 online fee as well).
So yeah, that should be awesome. Might sneak out to see either Hancock or Ku Fu Panda this weekend.
Got my tix to Journey to the center of the Im sick of movies having long azz titles Earth at the Imax
The vehicles turned you off of it? What? What do you mean?
I just never got into it, there was something about it which just didn't click with me. And the vehicles are of ugly design.
Looking forward to Batman definitely, although I hear in this new series of movies they're not going to have Mr. Freeze
Saw Wall-E a while ago. Fantastic movie... I wanna see it again. =3
arrrrg IMAX. I'd love to go see it like that, but the closest IMAX theatre is in Hutchinson and I'm not gonna go all the way out there for a movie, no matter how awesome it would be.

No Mr.freeze Blashpimy Freeze is the best BM villian of all time (Besides joker of course) Well Now I know Im gonna go see Hellboy II over Darkknight. I can not support a movie series that would exclude DC's best Iced based villan, Why DC Why!!!!
ok mabye im over reacting a bit but c'mon Freeze rocks if you ask me he deserves his own movie!
Freeze is excluded only because he would be next to impossible to implement into Nolan's darker, realistic take on Gotham.
True...(I just saw hellboyII it was great a lot of action & Humor, still not as good as iron-man or Wall-e though. I give HBII a 7/10. Its good overall not complants just, well as elvis would say..."A little less conversation a little more action please."
I saw Ghost in The Shell on Sci-Fi... I kind of came in the middle of it so I did'nt understand everything.
(That happens with the show even if I come in at the beginning... I have to stay absolutely focused throughout the whole thing to understand stuff... but that's just for the stand alone episodes... the laughing man onea I only vaguely understand.)
It was nice... pleasant... I want to watch it again.
Hellboy II. Good stuff, easily better than the first (which I liked). Bigger, more epic and surprisingly FUNNIER (there's a hilarious scene in the middle that I will not spoil). It's a wonderful reminder that even in the nest of cliches Hollywood has become there's still people around with genuine imaginations. This movie should convince ANYONE that still needed convincing that Del Toro is the perfect director for The Hobbit.
Man, where last summer disappointed, this summer is just clicking in all aspects for movies.

Hmmmm. So far this is the first, and only, place I've seen this nugget. Do you have a link to the source?
According to Wiki, Nolan has said he will not introduce Robin in his series (he's not even decided if he will do a third or not). He also said he that the Penguin is out, as he would be too "tricky"... but that's the only character that I've found.
I recently saw the Forbidden Kingdom and the Bucket List. Forbidden Kingdom was cool. I'm no kung fu movie buff, but it was pretty enjoyable, and I did not see Jet Li's secret coming, so that impressed me. The Bucket List kind of fell flat for me. What could have just been a fun, feel-good movie about two guys who spend their last days getting away from it all was kind of broken by the fact that the "fun" was lame and and the choice to make Carter's family give him a massive guilt trip over this final request was stupid and made it harder to enjoy the movie.
....I just got back from seeing Journey to the center of the earth, It was good i give it a 6/10.
Finally saw Indiana Jones. Made me laugh a couple of times, 'twas ok. The kid thing was indeed funny.
Looking forward to Journey to the Center of the Earth, the Dark Knight, and the new X-Files movies.
I'm sad.
I went to Six Flags.
I rode the DARK Knight Coaster>>
I WAS SUPREMELY DISSAPOINTED >O (You all have no idea how lame it is...)
I am scared about the movie now ;_;

HAHAHAHA! Awww...you poor thing. Well it seems Six Flags has a thing of letting people down...my friend and I waited in line to ride Batman for atleast 2 hours. The ride lasted approx. 45 secs. and wasn't that memorable. LAME! Oh well. But yesterday Cartoon Network showed Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo and Superman Doomsday. I've been TT deprived for about 2 or 3 years now and seeing that movie was like finding an old friend again. Superman Doomsday...was awesome. Unfortunately I missed what happened to Doomsday and what actually killed the man of steel. That's like...the ONLY thing I missed. Quite possibly the biggest thing of the whole movie. u_u Still both were filled with Epic Win.
I saw Speed Racer last night. That, my friends, was an amazing movie. Once I got used to the art style (which I was eager to), the movie just blew me away. The humor, the action, even the little twists and turns of the plot were great, without being Shyamalanesque. The acting was fantastic (Royalton's sudden turn to the Dark side was chilling), the visuals were astounding, and despite the kid and the ape adding a little kiddyness to the mix, it was funny and nonstupid enough to be tolerable for an adult viewer. I loved it, 10/10.
I envy you, TTG. I wanted to see Speed Racer so bad. Oh well, netflix, huh? lol
Speed Racer with positive review?
Bizzarro world >> Gotta be.
Still, I'll wait for network premiere on that one.
I did not see Jet Li's secret coming,
Thanks alot for ruining another movie that I might of seen.
Saying a twist exists does not a spoiler make.
Yea I wanted to see Forbidden Kingdom alot too. Never got to. It seriously stayed in theaters here for like 2 weeks. No joke.
Went to see Hancock tonight... What the ****? Seriously, I could have stomached the first 'twist', but the second one was just stupid.
o.O Second Twist say what?
>> << I missed something! What second twist?
It was a very broken movie that could have been so much better.
How badly do I want to write a review of this movie. But my eyes are about to fall out of my head. In my opinion though... I will say it[The Dark Knight if you didn't know] serves as the most enthralling adaptation of any literary work to the big screen. And that Watchmen preview...whoa now. Next year...is going to rock.
Just got back from The Dark Knight. It was decent, but not as good as the first time out. I felt like the first movie got really theoretical about how superheros work, and broke some new territory. Without spoiling it, in The Dark Knight we're back to the old fashioned kidnap the hero's loved ones routine...so much so it's used like 6 times throughout the movie.
Still, not bad. And there was no way for it to live up to its hype. Athough with alll the talk about Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman is the one who stole the show.
Batman: Gotham Knight.
Really it's a collection of short animated films, like the Animatrix.
I really enjoyed it, the different interpretations of Batman were great.
Dark Knight.... twice in the span of a day.
Twas awesome. So many twists and turns. Heath's Joker was simply brilliant. After the title hit at the end and the credits started rolling, I seriously needed a couple minutes. Such a great roller coaster ride of emotions.
Simply brilliant.
The last movie I saw was a movie I rented from Netflix called Lilja 4-ever.
...it was one of the most unsettling movie I saw in awhile. I just felt very perturbed the whole day, after I watched it. 🙁 It's one of those movies where you really don't want to rewatch it, not because it is bad, but because it is disturbing like Requiem for a Dream.
Just saw Dark Knight.
Mark Hamill is no longer the best Joker.
I too just watched The Dark Knight today. Although I actually still think Hamill is the definitive Joker, even if Ledger's makes TONS more sense in the context of Nolan's movies.
But it was really, really damn good. I'm not sure it deserves its present #1 spot on IMDb (I'm dead serious, it's literally #1 of all time right now), but it's definitely up there.
I just watched the Avater Series Finale Movie on Nick, it was awsome, best ending to a series in Years & I mena YEARS!!!
My love for the Dark Knight comes from several avenues.
#1: Pacing. The movie has some fat to it, but Nolan succeeds by making all of it interesting. There's always something interesting/important happening onscreen. Nolan also does great with the '@@#* Yeah!' moments, spacing them out perfectly so that when they happen, the audience is guaranteed to react.
#2: Setting. Gotham City finally feels lived-in. There's consequences for actions, an undercurrent of politics both municipal and underworld. People live, work and die in Gotham. There's money to be made and lost. Gotham City now feels more like a real city than even the New York City in Spider-man.
#3: Performances. This is the big one. There's been much ado about Ledger's Joker, and it's completely deserved. Ledger plays The Joker as a sadist with a sense of bemused detachment towards the world at large, a spectator who'll throw a land mine onto a football field just to see if someone'll trip over it for his enjoyment. Irrational, alternatively whimsical and sociopathic, prone to horrific acts of violence at the drop of a hat. Even as someone who loves the Animated Series, Ledger's Joker is superior even to Hamill's Joker in every aspect except for one: the laugh. Hamill's still got the best evil laugh in all of mass media. Everything else belongs to Ledger now, and the real tragedy of the movie is that we'll never see that incarnation of the character ever again.
But if he was the only great performance, the movie wouldn't be as fantastic as it is. Thankfully, both Eckhart and Oldman tear things up in their own roles as well. Eckhart plays Dent as someone who wants to make a difference so badly he can taste it. As for Oldman's Gordon, after the sad neglect he got in Begins he finally gets the screentime the character deserves.
The movie's not flawless by any stretch of the imagination. Nolan still can't direct fistfights to save his life. However, by making Dark Knight more along the lines of a drama film with some action rather than an action film with some drama, it's easier to ignore those particular missteps.
This is not the best movie ever. However, barring an unforeseen masterpiece, this is without a doubt the best movie of 2008.
This year has been great for big event movies so far. It's like everything that went wrong for the big summer movies in 07 is going so very right this year.
What Castor said.
