I've wondered about it because there aren't many prominent Nintendo characters who aren't playable in Brawl. They could promote some of the assist trophies of get more into 3rd party cameos. Mega Man would be the first priority IMO.

Well post who you think should be in the game.

Of the Nintendo characters who haven't been introduced yet:

1. Rosalina (From Super Mario Galaxy) - She may seem like a Peach/Daisy clone, but both as a character and a concept she is the most original thing that Nintendo have put out for YEARS. Her entire move base should be worked around Luma's, I'm sure some good gimmicks could come of it. Incidentally, it's a crying shame she's not featured in more games.

2. Lil' Mac (Punch-Out!!) - With the increased popularity of Punch-Out!! becoming almost meme thanks to the Wiimake, I feel either Mac or King Hippo would be great additions to the series. Who wouldn't want to Star Punch someone off of the screen?

3. Count Bleck (Super Paper Mario) - Of all the characters from the Paper Mario games (and there are a lot of them), Bleck would be the fan favorite and most interesting to use on the Smash arena. It's a crying shame that none of the Paper Mario characters are in Brawl, besides stickers/trophies. The cycle must be broken, if 2 dimensional G&W is allowed in the series, 2d Mario characters are too, and Bleck is badass beyond reasonable belief. Any other Paper Mario character is cool, though.

4. ANY Laguz character from Fire Emblem 9/10 - The transforming character has not been utilized enough, Shiek and Red are about the only two I can think of. Perhaps having Ranulf or Skrimir as a playtable character would make things interesting, what with the whole being human and turning into a tiger/lion respectively. I think the bird tribes would be game breaking due to their ability to fly, and dragons aren't important. So a popular beast tribe character--- plus it serves to advertize an under loved series. Win win.

As for non-Nintendo.

Megaman and Castlevania need love as Nintendo classics. I don't care if it's X, Mega, Zero, Proto or even Quick Man. As for Vania, it's got to be Simon, Soma or Alucard. No one else will do.

Ridley or some other prominent Metroid boss character needs to be in it first before anything else.

The guy from Pokemon Colosseum, he would use Espeon and Umbreon the same way Red uses his pokemon

Krystal, she would fight with her staff because we are in dire need of a Starfox character that doesn't have exactly the same moveset

Midna, possibly riding Wolf Link

1. Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot. I know his games nowadays are bargin bin knock-offs and seems to be "Crash Bandicoot" in name only, but he used to be such an influential and popular figure equally in the US, Europe, and Japan - a massive feat for an American-made game product of its time. For pete sake's, he had the honor of being the PS1's unofficial mascot - the term wasn't even canon and yet the professionals acknowledged him as such. With him having appeared in Nintendo consoles now, I think it's time for his due.

2. Dixie Kong: Honestly, I like her better then Diddy. I think she's awesome. I  mean, come on. Who wouldn't want to use her ponytail during battle? She hasn't appeared in the DKCverse in a while either. I mean, they traded her in exchange for...ugh...Tiny Kong in DK64.

3. Professor Layton: Well, alright, this one is stretch, but it's to think of five when the most obvious choices are already taken (I really, really, reaaaaaaaaaaally wanna put in Linebeck, but he has no combat abilities to speak of to be included. I think he'd work as a helper, either by ramming people with his ship or just flailing around uselessly in all his comical glory). Yes, it's a simple puzzle game and action really has no part in it and yes, Layton himself isn't a violent man, but he knows how to work a sword, so at the very least, he has combat-savvy skills. His "taunt" would be him drinking tea, it so would.
4. An older Nintendo character that haven't used yet: Insert whatever his or her name here. I don't know, Simon Belmont?

5. YOU. As in your Mii: Please, Nintendo. Give us an option to put our own Miis in the game.

1. Iggy Koopa: He's practically mad and zany, who else better would fit in the mad and crazy world of Super Smash Bros?

2. Black Shadow: I believe that's his name, the big bad of F-Zero. Dressed in black with a commanding figure, he could fit well as a rival to Ganon

3. Ridley: Think of a more agile, stronger and more frightening version of Bowser.

4. Rick the Hamster: Yay, another Kirby character. Probably the most iconic buddy from the Dreamland series (IMO) and we could always use more cute animals, right?

5. Megaman: Obviously the guy from the Megaman series (Not X, or the other ones) but I could also see Proto-Man or Roll as well. I'd just like to see a Megaman character in the game.

2. . I know, he's from the same series. But he's awesome.  Fear his might! I dunno what his Final Smash would be though... But hey, at least we know what one of his taunts would be!

3. Shiva, from Streets of Rage 3. Whuta! Whoop! ...I have no idea what his Final Smash would be. Powered up version of his super flip-kick maybe?

4. Ulala, from Space Channel 5. She's one of the more unique things SEGA ever made, and she deserves to be in more stuff. Final Smash? Bring in a dance troupe! Maybe varying by stage. Get too close and get kicked flying.

5. Magus, from Chrono Trigger. Way more interesting and compelling than Bishiroth, and would be wicked fun to play as. Maybe for his Final Smash he'd summon Lavos to pwn everyone.

DooM guy from DooM or Duke Nukem from the Duke Nukem games, that is all! The notion of Duke throwing cash at the female characters saying "shake it baby!" would be hilarious. DooM guy's BFG would destroy everything

Blaze Fielding, Kid Chameleon, Joe Mushashi and the ever popular Megsie.

If you want to establish some disciplene in this thread, why not in a constructive manner? How about asking people to explain why they want that character, what the moveset would be, what gimmicks they would have? Some people ( :V ) havn't been doing that and just firing random suggestions, such would slow them down and make them thing, and also open up the possibilities of meaningful discussion on the characters and moves.

In other words, chill out man, it's only a thread.
