So I woke up today with a song stuck in my head. Just the melody. It was 80s, I know that much. It was haunting me all to the afternoon. I eventually ask Stacy, and I sing the melody to her; she's got nothing. Dammit.
Suddenly I get a couple of lyrics. Woody boogie boogie. Hmm. That sounds right.
I do a quick search on Google. "Woody Boogie"
And bam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjrmtlnJHPU
Ho. Ly. Crap. I got hit with a bag of 80s in my sleep, apparently. I was FOUR when I remember liking this song. In fact, I was still living in Venezuela and I didn't speak a lick of English at that time. How the HELL did I retain some lyrics? I was singing along to this, people!!! THIS WAS TWENTY YEARS AGO!!! WHATTAHECK!!!
Just goes to show you how the mind of a little kid absorbs and retains things easily.
So, my fellow MoFoers, I ask you this. What have you woken up to, in recent times, that hit you with a bag of rocks labeled "YOUR PAST"? Anything is fair game, just keep it clean. 😛
Well at least you aren't sitting here with "Charles in Charge" ingrained into your head.
Seriously, there has GOT to be something in the water.
Sometimes I get the little intro theme from the 'Wait Till Your Father Gets Home' popping in out of nowhere.
I occasionally awaken to the song 'You Made Me Gay' by Gravy Train.
BLISSCORE
Right now I can´t remember any instance where I´ve woken up with something totally obscure from my childhood playing in my head, but in the last few days I´ve been haunted by Phoenix Wright music continuously...
Which gets especially bad when I´m trying to study and can´t stop thinking about Detective Gumshoe or the Steel Samurai. D<
*awaits "Objection" macro or something from someone*
I woke up a few days ago humming some Dire Straits. Spent the entirety of my shower just belting out "Money for nothing and the chicks. For. Free!"
Bananas in pajamas are coming down the stairs,
Bananas in pajamas are coming down in pairs,
Bananas in pajamas are chasing teddy bears,
'cos on Tuesdays they all try to catch them unawares!
*shuddering in fetal position* Can't sleep... bananas will eat me....
I've had the last two verses of Ten Dollar Solo from Commentary! the Musical stuck in my head for about three days.
Had a dream about an episode of Rugrats last week which happened out of nowhere. I got up in the morning and checked wikipedia to see if it was an actual episode or I must made it all up in my head.
Turns out I just have a really vivid imagination.
I've had that happen once or twice.
Note to the cosmos: I don't mind dreaming about new filk songs - but let me remember the lyrics when I wake up!
Is it strange I'm the only one here who can't remember their dreams at all?
Is it strange I'm the only one here who can't remember their dreams at all?
Not at all.

No. Stacy can never remember anything whilst she slept.
There are blobs of pokemon music floating around in my ears constantly. They combine with other things and generally try to overtake me.
Also, I too normally don't recall my dreams. When I decide before falling aslep to remember, or to remember while I'm dreaming, I usually remember. o.o It just works that way.

Lucid dreaming?
I hate it when "THE FINAL COUNTDOWN" comes on, because that gets stuck in my head even just thinking of the words.
