Thank god you're here to render such amazing commentary. Why, I can feel myself getting awesomer just THINKING about how awesome you must be.
And thank God you were here to be the 'Topic Jerk'.
Stay on topic, and try to grow up.
You're not as much of an 'omg interenetz god lolol' as you believe you are.
Another entry for the 'Awesome Poster Hall Of Fame' I see. You're like the Michael Phelps of posters, breaking records left and right for awesome content. I mean, how many other posters went and brushed off 99% of an entertainment genre as "lame" without any justification? Every once in a thousand posts does a poster with such insight such along, and you good sir MUST BE THAT POSTER.
And on topic, I just watched an anime that would probably be considered lame by the elitist of the elite like Beardo but my peon brain seemed to enjoy it. It was called Dennou Coil and dammit, it might just have to go on my Top 5 list.
Enough of this
Castor whenever somebody says something like that, it's not worth your time to say something about it.
Beardo saying something like that wasn't smart in the first place so just don't do it.
My ship sails in the morning, I wonder what's for dinner
I can't think of the other six. This sucks. Forget it, I'm going to the Guild.
Wasn't that what is most of the time what is considered a flame war?
Wasn't that what is most of the time what is considered a flame war?
I do not know what flamewar you speak of. I'm just declaring Beardo Is Legend to be Lord High Internet Jesus for his amazing insight into the vast and varied genre of anime. One does not flame a poster of such caliber, one can only bow/curtsy/relinquish first born child at them.
Back on topic, there is OH MY LORD WHAT IN GOD'S NAME HAVE I JUST FOUND?!
I have opinions.
1. Cowboy Bebop - Can't say any more than what's been said already. Marriage of substance and style.
2. Crest of the Stars - Criminally neglected show that any person who likes good science fiction needs to watch.
3. Fullmetal Alchemist - Again, I'm not sure what else to say. If Cowboy Bebop is the marriage of substance and style, Fullmetal is the marriage of original concept and flawless execution.
4. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - The Law and Order of anime.
5. Azumanga Daioh - Shut up, I had to have at least one non-science fiction title on here.
Honorable mentions to Trigun, Fruits Basket, Outlaw Star, Gundam SEED (NOT DESTINY), Record of Lodoss War, Excel Saga and Princess Nine (I think it was called this, whichever anime is the one where the girls play baseball).
Edit: I should have read the other lists before I made this. Add Naruto, Hellsing and FLCL to honorable mention list.

Honestly, if you're going to be a jerk because I'm not into near as much as anyone else on this godforsaken message board, then go ahead, be trivial. I only hope that one day I achieve your calibur of 'omg i iz better than you LOLZ look at my avvytarrr and signature ADMIRE IT I AM TEH GOD because i CAPITALIZE' ... ness.
There, now it's a flame, especially since all you should have done in the first place was simply ignore my simple post and went along your 'almighty' business.
Beardo saying something like that wasn't smart in the first place so just don't do it.
OMGI'MNOTSMARTLOLZ.
Anyways.
As for being on topic? I only enjoyed DBZ during the Frieza saga; I do have the first season of Sonic X on DVD, but does that even count? And yeah, I consider Pokemon an anime, despite it being more forumlated than Scooby Doo. Sorry if my taste isn't that deep, but I was never that big of a fan. Yu-Gi-Oh! was a catch for me for a while, but then GX(?) came around and I lost interest.
I'm not taking anyone's side here, I just think you're kind of misinterpreting something...
I don't think The other CT is angry at you so much because you're not into anime but more because you said everything else but the two you said sucks.
I don't think you really meant it and you were just Exxagerating and I think Castor sort of took it the wrong way...
So let's make up, K guys?
Honorable mentions to Trigun, Fruits Basket, Outlaw Star, Gundam SEED (NOT DESTINY)
GOOD MAN! Well to be honest, the first three or five episodes of SEED DESTINY was good, but it all went to Hell the moment the old cast came around and stole the spotlight (In all fairness, there was A LOT of things that went wrong with DESTINY)
Also I would like to but Gundam 00 On that my honorable mention list, but I've only seen up to 19 of the first season, But I WILL but Gundam WING on my honorable mention list because Duo Maxwell is made of steaks of win, and the Deathscythe is his partener in crime are the "God's of Death"

Anger? There's no anger here. Only reverence and piety for the New Internet Moses who has come to our 'godforsaken message board' to bless us with his beautiful Pixel Commandments on our monitors.
Show me the way to salvation, Mighty Beardo. Show me how to be as too cool for school as you are, because verily you are too cool for any school but your own.
Oh look, I'm back ontopic again! Seriously, anyone wondering if anime can pull of drama and suspense without being ridiculous and over-the-top really should check out Monster.
Castor... you're starting to get rediculous... Now put down the tarter sauce before things get ugly.
or the New Internet Moses who has come to our 'godforsaken message board' to bless us with his beautiful Pixel Commandments on our monitors.
For the record, sweety, I've been here for about 7 years. I didn't exactly 'show up'.
I'm done.

I've been here for almost 8.

Edited to add: Oh, wait.....
All right, guys, could you take this to PM if it's that goddamn important?

Be honest, were you referring to Godannar when you said "However... a few... not really."?
I just have this urge to know...

Gosh, Godannar, I always wanted to watch that anime, but it was already licensed and I cannot find it in Canada. I've always heard that it's actually pretty good once you get passed the fan service.
I've been atempting to watch Tappa Tenma Gurren Lagann, but Youtube continues to freak out all over the place...
Godannar was AWESOME.
Ramza: Bandai's gotten the rights to GL. You can get it on DVD (subs-only) currently, 30 bucks for 9 episodes. Or, you can get the dub on iTunes, they release 2 episodes a week as SciFi Channel airs it Mondays at 11pm EST (we're up to episodes 9 and 10 as of next Monday). Youtube...video compression eew.

Some how, Castor. Some way... You will pay for this.
STARSCREAM AND MEGATRON ARE NOT BISHIE BODIED CHEERLEADERS!!!! >_____<
But that was freaking amazingly pulled off, and the G1 backgrounds make me squee.
EWW @ anyone saying the Shaman King and Negima animes. Ewwwwwwwwwwww.
What do you hate about Shaman King? I love both the anime and the manga, and so I'm curious. It's something I don't understand ^^` Please share.
Actually, I love Shaman King. Well, the manga at least. Well, the concept.
I watched the anime first when I was a lot younger and loved it to bits, but now that I've matured and read the manga I can see utterly abysmal it is for moving in its own direction and completely sucking compared to the manga. And then I also feel somewhat dissapointed that the manga never actually managed to finish before being cancelled and never getting a resolution therefore making me feel utterly abysmal. =(
THAT SAID THANK *$#% IT'S GETTING A CONCLUSION AT LAST m/m/m/ I needs me a vol.33
(generally the anime is crap compared to the manga, that's all)
I just remembered one. If there was some dimensional loophole that would allow me to have six in my top five, I'd have to add Now and Then, Here and There, another underrated show that is one of the few dystopian futures I actually like.

Isn't it still being printed in the weekly Shounin Jump?
I generally hate anime. I hate that Haruhi crap, I hate Naruto, I hate Ranma 1/2, I hate Evangelion... I hate almost all of it.
However, I have one favorite series.
And that series is Dragon Ball.
hey legionfan i love your icon! thats one of my favorite pieces of general grievous fanart .
my tope fave anime?
1: AKIRA
2: The cat returns
3: Slayers
4: Dirty Pair flash
5: Cat soup
Not too big a fan of anime. I don't really want to go out of my way, dig deep into the Internet to find an obscure, undubbed show to fill my hard drive with. I also find subtitles to be distracting and really prevents me from relaxing and from getting into a show. I kinda like to zone-out when watching something, and I can't really do that when I have to keep diverting my eyes from the action on-screen and look out for the next line of text that pops up on the bottom. So I usually don't watch any anime that hasn't previously been aired on US television. I try to avoid all of those colorful, bubbly KAWAII DESU NE ^_^ shows like Lucky Star and the like.
But anyway, all of that is incredibly off-topic, so I will proceed with the list! In not really too much of a particular order:
Serial Experiments Lain
Paranoia Agent
Dragonball (original, not Z... though I do still have a soft spot for it...)
Samurai Champloo
Cowboy Bebop?
Case Closed (Detective Conan?) and Lupin the 3rd were pretty cool. Shame they got canned early, especially Case Closed which I really liked. I also liked Gundam Wing and Yuyu Hakusho... and the Tenchi series that didn't involve "in Tokyo" when they aired on Toonami back in the day... not sure how I'd feel about them today... bah, that's my list and I'm sticking with it.
1. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
2. Death Note
3. Bleach
4. School Rumble
5. Lucky Star and FLCL
Edit: Crap I forgot about School Rumble. Fixed
Shaman King was cancelled years ago. They're releasing 'perfect tankoban' volumes, which reprint about 2 of the old volumes in 1 every two months now iirc, and its in this perfect collection that the author's finally doing the conclusion to the manga series. That'll come about sometime next year.
