I...don't think so. FWIW I have a cat. 😮 I'll go into previous pets if this catches on.

I have 2 cats:
1 all black named... Blackie. Yeah -10 for originality.

Pets I've had...hoo boy. I've had one rabbit who was evil and we sold, one that went...I dunno. Hard to explain. >> Best word is 'crazy'. Two guinea pigs...one was thought to have got cancer, while the other was killed by something. Apparently.

And my sis has had a couple of hamsters and we've had a few other cats in the past, too.

...this is probably my longest WPLW post evar.

God knows how many dogs my family has been through.
We've lost ...a dozen or so pet lizards. Mostly the cats doing. -_-
2 cats, one of which was the lizard slayer.

... and a whole lot of fish. =/

I've had a dog that got cancer, a turtle that froze, a crayfish that jumped out of its bowl and died, and a goldfish that lived for a day. Currently I have a cat and two birds.

Pet death seems remarkably common.

That's because: My family didn't have a properly filtered tank for the turtle, goldfish, and crayfish. My dog just got cancer for some reason.

My cat ran away. The other died because some moron poisoned him for digging in their yard. He was frozen stiff as a board by the porch. =( Blackie the first we call him.

That said, I guess what happened at my sis' work place was worse.

(I shan't go into it unless pushed to do so)

What really got me was that Blackie 1 helped us rescue two kittens that were dumped on us. We got one in the first night, but the other was scared. Blackie 1 went out every night to stay with that kitten and keep it safe. He slept with it too so he wouldn't freeze. He was a cool cat, but he died 2 weeks after the kittens got new homes.
