4kids Tv changes lineup

Starting today (and for a while now), 4kidstv changes their morning lineup, the lineup now features two Bratz and two Wink Club's, (the latter of both being all-new, while firsts are repeats), and Sonic X is now on at 11am and Gi Joe Sigma 6 at 11:30am, gone (for now) are Mew Mew Power and One piece.

Now in my opoion, this is just 4kids attempt to save Bratz and Wink Cub or the fact that One Peice and Mew Mew power were getting to "racy' for television, or the fact that with a parternship with KidsWB they realized Fans watched Loonatics, which extended into first mintue or so of Sonic X.

But hey those are my opoions, what are yours?

No, One Piece is too racy for 4KIDS. It probably could've aired on adult swim, no problem.

And this is being said without any idea of how bad One Piece was.

When finding out this news, everyone over the age of seven reacted with complete and utter indifference.

While I'm not sure if One Piece and Mew Mew are being pulled permanently or just for sweeps, it's a definite confirmation that the shows are unpopular.

They haven't gotten too "racy"... kids just aren't watching them. And kids aren't watching them for the same reason that anime fans don't watch them: the 4Kids versions are crap.

Wow. For once, I agree with you, Pep. Hopefully 4Kids'll release the rights to One Piece and maybe give it to a GOOD translating company, like maybe Anime Works, Ocean or ADV.

I don't like any of these shows, FYI. I think people are way, way to worried about what kids see, especially after the dubbing job of Sonic X; they took out a scene of Sonic holding a flower out to Amy. I guess the dubbers felt it was highly sexual and innapropriate for kids.

I've grown to really not care much for whatever 4kids does, I just watch the shows...well, not really. The only thing touched by 4kids I watch is Sonic X and YuGiOh (although the latter is just because it's almost near the ending and I guess I just wanna see it through). I don't watch TV much anymore...

You sure they just didn't cut out the flower because of the time instead? Could be that. *shurgs*

Correction: All of 4kids' dubs are so bad they are the leading cause of suicide in the world.

Tokyo Mew Mew's original anime is probably loads better then the show they've chopped it into. It doesn't take away from the show's actual storyline and whatnot THAT much, but it bugs me when they go around changing names. Ichigo to Zoey, Pudding to Kiki... Blargh.
One Piece was murderedslaughteredkilledchopped. I just watched a bit of it on Toonami, and Sanji's voice is horrible beyond all reason.
Someone needs to save the world and release uncut editions before they slaughter the show, so that everyone can see the difference and revolt against 4Kids...
Bratz and Winx Club both make me feel sick to my stomach with utter revoltion at the way the young people that watch it and follow it, may grow up to be.
Something in me died when I saw "Mew Mew Power"...

I actually kinda liked 4kids ultimate muscle dub, but that's the only thing

I sorta remember the theme song for Ultimate Muscle... But that's about it... The starting lineup shows didn't last that long. Kirby: Right Back At Ya used to go on, but I think they canceled that one too. I'm not sure if Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is still on, and a whole bunch of other shows are too far back to even remember... They keep adding more shows that are either dubbed horribly, or that appeal to those who are into all the popular fashions and "OMG! A HOTTIE <3!" stuffs. *sigh* Gimme my remote so I can be lazy again and watch what Adult Swim shows in anime...

Speaking of adult swim, last night's Fullmetal was the weirdest one I've ever seen, and certainly one of the weirdest episodes of ANY show I've seen in a good while.

Female Alex Armstrong... no comment.

Man, I could never get the hang of Tokyo Mew Mew. I never saw the original anime, but I did read at least 4 volumes of the manga from my friend and find it to be SO much like Sailor Moon. Granted, there are enough differences, but I kept saying "Sailor Moon" over and over in my head. I just can't get over how generic it is (cutesy anime art, I'm still thrown off that the main character's parents look more like her older siblings then parents, mandatory cat girl, etc).

One Piece and MewMew, I am not suprise nor disappointed that they got cancelled and I believe it isn't because of the bad dubbing either. The only thing that disappointed me is that they got Bratz and The Winks club to make up the gap in the schedule. Are both shows really that popular or did 4kids get a whole lot more episodes them then the others?

I truly and highy doubt it Neo, the final episode had a 5 minute "music video" section and a 3 minute flashback montage, which could have been trimmed no problem, especially as 4Kidz decided it'd be appropriate to show a blank oak sign which once said "The House of Amy Rose" for about 5 seconds, noting that they changed the audio, there was no reason to maintain any of the lengthy footage contained in that sequence. Really, watching the dub version of episode 52 is only bareable because Rouge and Knuckles get MORE inneundo in the dub version (tickling!?) whereas in the Japanese they were actually pounding the crap into eachother.

Still, Sonic X's dub has grown on me, I'd take the raw any day of the week, but these are the voices I'll be hearing for the rest of my days, I may aswell get acustomed to them.

On terms of One Piece, I have no idea what the pull on that show is, but I doubt I'd enjoy it in either language and wish Toonami would buy something decent instead of One Piece, Kong and Robotboy. I have to watch cheap public access television to get my PROPER anime fix >.>;

Eh. I think I'm just used to dubs since most of the time, I lived in a world where getting the original anime was hard to obtain (before I found the wonders of downloading). I don't truly have a problem with Sonic X (which I honestly think is one of 4kids better dubs), but then again, I don't really care much since I cut back my anime watching level months ago with Sonic X being like maybe the only 2 anime shows I watch nowadays. I wanna focus more on western cartoons right now at the moment.

to tell the truth, i would love it if Adult swim would've adopted one piece. i recently bought the first Full metal alchemist book and it was quite literally no different from the show.

now if One Piece were to get the same Dubbing company as FMA, well then i'd just be happy as all hell.

Has there ever been a dubbed anime that was so bad compared to the original that a whole new dubbing company was brought in that would redub it with better voices and uncut scenes so it exactly parallels the Japan one?

...but the Bratz probably is relatively popular for its type of audience. There aren't many "cartoons" like the Bratz on TV. As for Winx Club, if the elementary kids I mentor on Thursdays are any indication, that show is VERY popular.

Every single time I see an episode of FMA, I praise God that a company like 4Kids didn't get their hands on it.

Every time I see FMA, a little part of me dies.

But every time I see One Piece, an enormous part of my soul commits seppuku.

it's violent. but with reason. There's a big mystery that isn't all that confusing, alot of action. mostly funny comedy, and it's not really too complicated.

sounds like a good show to me.

Wonderbat, is there anything you won't complain about?

And yeah, Fullmetal's pretty dang bloody. People die. A lot. Not even main characters are granted immunity from it, either spoilaz (Lieutenant Hughes, anyone?), but I kinda like it like that.
