And I thought Mac Mini was a ripoff.
Sheeeesh, and thought that "Aaron's" company that popped up was bad. These idiots take the freaking cake.

You can always buy a fiat for ferrari prices, but not a ferrari for fiat prices.
Jimro
But it costs so much more, it HAS to be good, right?
Right??

I find it amusing that that's an eMachines computer, like my own. ...Suckier than mine though.
It has a CD Rom drive, 17" color monitor (fatscreen) and 128MB of ram... cool 😀
And you get a free $250 printer/scanner :O Wow, looks like the Lexmark one I got years ago for less than 50

Each computer is priced on a weekly basis, and you make payments for just 52 weeks. This way, we can keep the payments small and at the end of one year, you will own one of these brand new, brand name computers.
Since we don't check your credit, we do ask that you build a credit history with us by making 13 short weeks of consecutive layaway payments. Then, we will finance the balance of your purchase price, order, test and ship your computer directly to your home. It's that simple!
No computer for 13 weeks of payment @ $36 + initial $99 o.o
Does this classify as corporate rape?
No, just the regular, literal kind of rape.
The kind without lubrication, too.
I love how they specify "And a Keyboard and mouse!"
The last Dell systems we bought. I was FORCED to, I advised against it but they didn't listen. After I gave the rep what we wanted and he changed it all around. We got 3 systems with no speakers.
Yes folks, Dell does not know you need SPEAKERS with a computer to hear sound.

I used to recommend Dell to my computer illeterate clients, only because of their excellent customer service.
Well the customer service got outsourced to India and the computers are no better than HP/Compac or even eMachines.
So I no longer recommend Dell to folks who need more customer support. I tell them to go down to Office Depot or Staples and buy a computer in the price range they are looking for, I'll set it up and UNINSTALL half the crap that comes with it. Then they can call someone who knows computers when a problem comes up.
Sorry you guys got stuck with Dell Rico.
Jimro
You could use the PC speaker
Yeah, like that'd be effective for anything that didn't come out for DOS.

See, I did that for a few weeks, realized the error in my ways, and now I just tell them all to buy a Mac mini and leave me alone. I figure if they're going to get ripped off, they might as well do it with a computer I won't ever have to fix.
They got stuck. Not me. I warned 'em. Jamie fixes those, I refuse. The SMART departments here buy from that local shop. If he screws us, I know where he lives.

I think the bait on this is that you pay in increments and there is no credit check. Like, I doubt I could buy a new computer right now on installments because my credit is a real lollercaust.
People do this stuff all the time. A friend of mine is paying $5000 in $200 installments every two WEEKS for an '89 Jeep Cherokee with 200,000 miles because her credit sucks so bad that she can't even get approved for a Kia.
This one company is still a scam obviously, but its really not as ridiculous as y'all are making it out to be to pay so much for something so crappy if you're paying with interest.
