It was Wedensday night when speculation started about a possible snowstorm to form and hit the Atlantic coast this weekend. Thursday night I saw that a Winter Storm Watch would be issued for the weekend, and yesterday they changed it to a Heavy Snow Warning, which covers most of VA and MD and parts of WV, KY, NC, PA, and NJ. Winter Storm Watches and Warnings are covering an even greater range, and I even see a Blizzard Warning issued for part of Connecticut. Last night, my weather radio sounded its alarm to tell me of a Winter Storm Warning (though there actually wasn't one).
One of my local weatherman said this was going to be the biggest snowfall the area has had in three years. NOAA has given my city a 100% chance of snow today and a 100% chance of heavy snow tonight (possibly 8-12 inches). All I'm getting right now is a mix of rain and snow.
In my area, some people go nuts whenever it snows and run out to raid grocery and video stores and buy 20 snow shovels. o__o And, there are always the people who say that the weatherman lie and never believe that a storm is coming.
Some scientists have said that because we just had a severe hurricane season, we'll have a severe snow season as well.
Is anyone else of you being affected by this?
What do you usually do when it snows in your area?
I'm on Long Island an we're getting a Blizzard Warning. Whoo. But my dad thinks the storm won't be that much. I usually stay in my house and play video games. ^^
That much snow this close to Spring? o_O
Well, I guess it's a matter of location.
Our worse snows tend to come around this time. And the snow has already started to coat the ground =D
Well, we had 50 degree temperatures through much of January, and it was so much that the cherry blossoms have begun to bloom. My Mom thinks this must mean we'll get a March blizzard.
In some parts of the nation, it starts snowing in October.

You forgot the most important state of them all! The state that creates empires! The state that makes the states you had mentioned petty minions!
Unfortunately, I forgot about that state. Settle for NY. ;p
I hate all of you...Here in Minnesota we have only an inch or two of snow...When we ususally have a foot or two...
Yay for Eastern Canada having one of the warmest winters on record. >___>
We had GOOD snow like, once, and It sucks because I didn't get to go snowboarding this season.
We got about 15 inches. Way over estimates.

Man, you should come over here. It rained in the city and snowed on the mountains for like five straight weeks, now it's clear and chilly and the powder is epic.
We got about 10 inches.
I hear it's nearly 2 feet in NYC and Boston with snow still falling.
I'm off school tomorrow. It appears that out of the entire DC Metro region, my county was the first to announce a closing for tomorrow, which is completely unnatural for them. There have been repeated times my school has decided to close while I'm in the middle of eating breakfast.
It snowed for the first time in my life, I've never seen snow before. >>
EDIT: Well, nothing heavy, it didn't even turn thegrass white.
EDITx2: Today it snowed a lot. Several inches, etc. ><
>>
Yo. Did I see you correctly? 2 feet in NYC -.-?
Man, if I go home and there's snow on the ground, I'm going to be highly upset. I'm leaving this mountain frostbitten state to enjoy some semi-warm city life again, I don't want to travel across the country to be in snow -.-
Yea, it snowed like crazy the last two days over here. Pretty to look at, but I still hate the cold.
