Yep. An odd one, but I'll ask it anyway: in general, what footwear do you wear throughout the day? Socks, sandals, shoes (tennis, dress, don't care), boots, or barefoot, I dunno, you tell us. Also, what are you wearing right now?
Anyway, I'm pretty much always wearing shoes and/or socks. Dunno why, but going barefoot never felt comfortable to me (regardless of LBT). And not in the "feel the ground" way, but more that I kinda feel embarrassed. Illogical, but it's the case. Slippers before bed, though.
As for right now, socks, tennis shoes. Kinda have to, I'm at UMCP in a lab right now; it'd be kind of rude to not have some kind of footwear; it's too informal for dress shoes; and much too cold for sandals, which I never wear anyway.
"Socks" to be me. :p
** is wearing socks at this moment **
Um... this IS odd...
I just always wear sneakers or boots with socks. I wear sandals in the summertime. While inside my home, I just wear socks and slippers... or just socks.
As for right now, I have on socks and boots, because I'm typing this in the middle of my class. Go figure... ^^;;
Currently wearing socks, and I perfer to either go barepawed, or wear socks.
o.o
Right now, I'm wearing socks. I often walk around my house clad in socks. When I leave the house, I usually wear my Chuck Taylors.
My high school has a dress code, though, so I can't wear the Chucks there. In that case, I wear my boat shoes, which I've been wearing since sophomore year (I'm now a senior). These shoes are actually quite comfortable, although falling apart, and I'll sometimes wear them when I'm doing something slightly formal (ie, going to Church, going out to dinner with the family, yadda yadda).
During the summer months, I usually ditch the socks and walk around the house barefoot. I also wear sandals, although something about my feet makes my sandals smell awful. 0_o
When going out, I just wear trainers, they're a pretty cheap pair as I don't really care what I wear on my feet, as long as it keeps my feet warm.
Currently, I'm wearing a pair of socks, with a pair of thermal socks over the top, as my feet get really cold during winter.
Also, you will never see me in bare feet, as the only time I take off my socks is to change them, or have a bath. Even in Summer, I'll always wear a pair of socks to bed. I dunno why, it's just a habit I guess.
I'm wearing socks. I like wearing my shoes everywhere though.
I'm wearing a wierd pair of slippers right now becuase it's too cold to go barefoot. In the summer though, I prefer to be barefoot and usually only wear shoes when I leave the house.
I'm weaing socks ATM because I'm on my lunch break from classes, but usually in any season other than Winter I like to go barefoot whenever possible.
When at home I usually just wear slippers or sandals. When I leave the house I wear socks and sneakers. And right now I'm wearing my slippers.
At home, I lounge in my pyjamas (well, tracksuit trousers and T-shirt) with bare feet, at work I lounge around with socks on, because I like to be free (I am insulted constantly for this), if I'm travelling it's one of my black Reebok Classics and if I'm at meetings or formal occasions, I have a pair of Clarks under my desk ready to shine.
But I hate shoes, and never wear them unless on the street, and when I do, they're ALWAYS black.
I pretty much always wear socks. The only exception could possibly be if I'm likely to be hot in bed. And unless I've none available, it's always sports socks I'll be wearing.
(in fact I'm wearing them right now!)
As for shoes, generally I wear trainers (like OTB, just a cheap pair. Y'know, whatever works), but I've gotta wear shoes for school. =( Stupid uniform~~
I am usually barefoot or in tennis shoes, but right this moment I'm wearing socks inside of sandals. Ow.
Well, whenever I'm at home, I'm usually barefooted or sometimes in socks (ya know, typical Asian house where shoes only go as far as the front of the front door). When outside and other places, I generally wear my black boots, sometimes sneakers, but 98% of the time, it's them boots.
The only shoes I won't wear are flip-flops. I hate those things.
~Neo
Flip flops=annoying. Arent they slightly unsanitary though?
I dunno/ Me. SOX 4 LYF!
On the go=sneakers. If I have to wear shoes, its for a dressy affair. I have a ton of Boots though, in different colors cause they're so...yummy. Yeah yummy's the best word to describe them.

isn't that normal for most households? my mum insists we take our shoes off at the door so mud/dirt/dogpoo/etc isn't brought indoors.
but i don't know much about indian culture. (i thought it was the japanise who took their shoes off before they go inside?)
my footwear depends on the time of year and place. at uni, i pad about in a pair of indoor cloth flipflops as the doors are all to grotty to walk bare-foot. at home i wear fuzzy slippers as it's darned cold.
outside i wear variaty of trainers (never white, too chav. browns and greens for me!) occasionally my platform new rocks, even more rarely my shiney 'work' shoes.
when in canada, i wear my fuzzy-lined boots.
People in England always make me take off my shoes before I go inside the house. In America (except for with my Asian friends) I've never been asked.
Anyways I'm wearing a pair of embellished gold moccasins with bronze stiching and little smooth brown and turquoise stones on them. I normally wear these, my brown suede embellished flip flops or my gold sequined flats. I sometimes wear those little slip on shoes that are canvas like old school vans.
I haven't owned a pair of tennis shoes (trainers, whatev) since I was 13. I used to wear alot of chucks but then I realized that they made my feet look huge.
Tend to wear a pair of fairly substantial trainers - have good enough ankle support to go hill-walking in as if they were walking boots - but while at home I tend to wander around in slippers. At Uni, when in my room, I vary between wearing my trainers or just wearing socks, depending on whether I've been bothered enough to take my trainers off after getting back from lectures.
At present, I'm wearing trainers, since I have not been bothered to take them off...
I wear shoes pretty much all the time, due in part to my having flat feet and needing inserts in the shoes. Because of that, my feet get sore if I go to long in just socks. I always wear at least socks when not asleep though, as I hate being barefoot for some reason.
Barefoot at the moment, since I'm in my pyjamas. Usually I wear socks around the house, although I do sometimes go through phases of preferring barefoot. When I wear socks, though, it's virtually always formal socks, no matter what the occasion, be it school, going out, lazing around the house, playing sport, whatever. I have like a million pairs of black formal socks.
When I wear shoes I mostly wear trainers, although I need to replace my current pair as one of them is falling apart and the laces are a bit buggered on the other. I do have a pair of black smart-casual shoes for more formal affairs, but I hardly wear them. I might start wearing them to school just to reduce the wear on my trainers. If I got a job I might wear them then as well.
In the summer I will occasionally wear sandals, simply because they're more practical for like going to the beach and stuff than trainers. Otherwise I would never wear a shoe that exposes any part of the feet, as I find them almost invariably hideous.
As for the whole taking your shoes off to go into someone's house dealy, most of my friends' families insist on it, although as far as I'm aware my own family couldn't give two craps about it. I wear my shoes around the house fairly often, mainly if I know I'll be going out later and want to be ready.

Indian? How did Indian come up?
As for it being typical...well, I'll take your word for it. I don't really go to a lot of houses much to know, really.

Oooo....
I love shoes. I love wearing them. I love looking at them. The only downside is that there aren't many shoes in my size. :3 **has like, the largest size shoe that can be found in the average shoe store** Eleven-wide women's for the win.
If I put my shoes on, I don't take them off until I go to bed. They're just too comfortable. ^^ Unless I'm at the piano. Then it's just a pain in the neck. I would much rather have a bare or socked foot when working with the pedals. >>
I'm one of those weird people who wears sandals in all four seasons. :3 I wear sandals in the snow. I wear sandals on the beach. I wear sandals around the house.
I have too many pairs of shoes for my own good. >>
~ main pair of tennis shoes
~ nice-ish ankle high boots
~ black leather clogs
~ mid-heeled black dress shoes
~ Old Mary-Kate and Ashley sandals which by a miracle still fit me
~ flat-footed dress sandals
~ high-heeled dress sandals
~ white Homecoming sandals
~ giant fuzzy slippers >
At the moment, my feet are completely bare. RARE OMG o_o

I hate shoes.
I hate them I hate them I hate them.
There's almost nothing worse than having your feet cramped inside a small cave of sweat and fabric. I swear to God, whenever I have to put on shoes, I get down on my knees and pray... pray that my feet don't suffocate; I pray that my feet don't get too sweaty and start getting that weird cornchippy smell; I pray that I will soon get to remove them and feel the air between my toes and the dirt on the bottom of my feet.
So around the house I prefer being barefoot.
Home (indoors): Barefoot
Home (outdoors): Sandals
Other Places: Sneakers and socks.
Workplace: Boots and socks.
Anywhere Else: MasterCard. X3
I really just have one pair of tennis shoes.
When I was younger I had tennis shoes and a high love for sandals. However, I've not been able to have my belove sandals in a long time. >_> I've always wanted a pair of boots too, but now that's becoming a 'cool' trend out here. XD I still want me some. =b
~T2K
Edit: Okay...I DO have some nighttime slippers for the winter and my feet are feeling cold.....or if I gotta step outside.

in the UK, asian = indian. all the people i know who's families that came from india refer to themselves as asian.

My dad prefers that we wear shoes at all times. Mostly because we're a family of klutzes. But I ususally don't wear them inside.

(trumps that with a size-thirteen and a half) ULTRA SMASH PUNY FOOT!
In any case, I'm mostly barefoot. If I have to go somewhere, I wear a pair of old blue and gray new balance sneakers.
As for right now...blue shorts, underwear, and a red shirt with the Loony Tunes.
Bugs Bunny FTW. 😀
...on your foot? o.o @ shorts, underwear, shirt

Ahhhh. I just thought you mistaked me for one.
~Neo
i'm confused now, what do you think 'asian' stands for?
i'm confused now, what do you think 'asian' stands for?
No, no. I thought in your first post, I thought you mistaken me as Indian. Back then, I wasn't aware that "Indian" is what people of UK usually called Asians until you told me otherwise.
~Neo
alright, as long as we've got everything clear. ^^
(i think it includes more then just people from india, but i get confused as heck when it comes to being PC, as practially i know just gets classed mentally as 'english'. i don't really take race into account)
anyhow, i've dragged this off-topic. ^^;
I thought the question 'what are you wearing now' applied to the entire body. (skimmed every other post)
(trumps that with a size-thirteen and a half) ULTRA SMASH PUNY FOOT!
Ah, I should have been more clear, then. ^^; Largest shoe size for women. I'm serious, I have to go to three or four shoe stores before I can even find some in my size >>;;
Your feet on the other hand rival my brother's. PARK YOUR BOATS OUTSIDE **pushes Ultra's shoes out the door**
~Shadowed Spirit Sage
chux =)
At the moment, I am barefoot, as I was walking around in the heat all day, which was not fun. >>
Normally, I wear socks and my sneakers. oo
I have about three or four sets of footwear I'm commonly seen wearing and one more that's not so common. Those are:
~A set of black All Stars
~A set of black Mercury boots with reinforced leather toes
~A set of blue-gray Nike basketball-trainers
~A set of Animal sandals
~and a set of black Clarks formal shoes
As for right at this moment, I'm wearing a pair of totes Toasties, which I use for keeping my feet warm around my flat.
Depending on the time of year, I usually just roam around indoors in either socks or bare feet. If it's nice and warm outside, I'll be out in my sandals. When it's cold and/or snowing/raining, it'll usually be my boots as they're both warm and waterproof. Rest of the time it's either my Nikes or my All-Stars depending on my mood and the weather.
And there you have it!
Oh yeah, and Ultra? My feet > Your feet. I take a UK size 13 or 14 for most of my footwear, which works out to a US size 14 or 15. 😛
~LightStrike, aka SilverShadow.
I always wear socks around the house otherwise I get ridiculously cold. If I ever venture into the dangerous outside world, I have a pair of cyan and pink DCs or some plain black Chucks for warmer days.
I have fairly big feet myself. I'm a UK size 12 (roughly US size 13) and most shoe stores in town don't stock anything larger than 11. It's annoying, and my feet don't even look that big when I look at them with no shoes on. All I can say is thank f**k for the massive Brantano's down the bay.
Incidentally, I bought myself some new trainers the other day, because my other ones were worn to buggery. They only cost 25 yay. Did try on some Chucks in a different store (they were like the only thing they had in my size) and they're quite comfy, though seem rather flimsy. Might get some for the summer when it's warmer like.
Right now I'm barefoot, but most of the time I wear skateboarding shoes. A pair of size eleven Globe Appleyard-Rewires, to be precise. I swear by Globe.
If I happen to be snowboarding on a particular day I'll just wear my snowboard boots the whole day, even to work, because they're a pain in the ass to get on and off and they're fairly comfortable anyways.
Anyone who wears Converse Allstars should be tazered.
hehe quite a lot to name
Of course socks and then usually Sportshoes, but when we have winter and much snow (which IS at the moment) then I usually wear boots.
Also when I go really climbing then I wear boots normally.
But you have to know, there are rules for Snooker players, so when I have a Snooker match I have to wear black socks and black shoes.
I usually wear lol only Nike shoes and Reebok, but preferably Air Force Ones, I got the midtops(all white) and the lows, but I have pretty average feet length, I wear an 10.5 to like an 11.5 but I always get size 11's.
Shoe List:
AF1's-White/Red bottoms
White/White
Custom LeBron Dunks ((from my homie emmanuelabor))
Nike Air Force 2
Black Reebok Classic (mids)
